Standard
Student uses attention level appropriate for particular circumstances and contexts. Student analyzes, interprets, and reflects while paying attention to verbal and nonverbal communication in a variety of circumstances. Student has the ability to explore different perspectives.

Student pays attention while others are speaking in a way that suits the situation. Student analyzes, interprets, and reflects while paying attention to verbal and non-verbal communication in a variety of circumstances. Student explores different perspectives in an objective way.

Exceeding
Student demonstrates the ability to be a gatekeeper for others when the situation calls for it. Student can model the process of inquiry based on verbal and non-verbal communication in a variety of circumstances.
