PASOLINK INSTALLATION STANDARD for ZTE / SMART TELECOM MW PROJECT PH2

INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this document is to specify a standard procedures and practices for Pasolink installation and Pt.Smart requirement which doesnt effect on microwave equipment work normal and its designed performance.. And, this document to cover the important point of the method of Pasolink installation. For any aspects of installation not specifically covered by this document, installation method should be followed by Pasolink installation manual. The microwave installation common sense explained here is used to supplement the Pasolink installation manual, and to execute the on-site work appropriately, and above all, thosecommon senses should prevail. ------------------------------ - ---------------------------------

BEFORE START INSTALLTION

Check correctness of equipment type and necessary installation materials delivered to the site compared with equipment delivery list. Check completion of site preparation for microwave installation work. ------------------------------ - --------------------------------Reference 1. Pasolink Installation Manual 2. 1. OUTDOOR INSTALLATION
1.1 Antenna mounting The antenna must be installed in the right height according to the customers instruction. For the tower leg where install more than 1.2m antenna, must confirm the angle of the antenna side strut can fix properly before install antenna. If the angle of the side strut seems to exceed the tolerance, the antenna will have to be installed in other leg. In special case, if lot of antennas already exists on the tower leg and there is no space for fix the side strut, it is necessary to install the additional reinforcement member or bracket to support the side strut. Refer to Antenna Side Strut Installation. To make the antenna orientation easily, an azimuth and vertical adjustment of the antenna bracket should be pre-set to the center position. 0.6m antenna More than 1.2m antenna

1.2 Installation of Antenna/ODU on the pole In case to install antenna/ODU on the pole in the rooftop of the building, and exclude case of special big size pole, the antenna/ODU is install on the pole directly. It need not use antenna pole which NEC supplied. Good example Acceptable example

1.3 ODU installation For the antenna direct mount type, tightening four screws (or six screws) to fix the ODU dont tighten strongly only one screw but four screws are catercorner tightened little by little alternately.

For the HY-BRID mount type, four screws are tightened by a similar method to the above method.

Protect the connector until the ODU positioned and the IF cable connection are completed for avoid the screw thread damage and waterproof of the connector.

1.4 ODU Grounding It is necessary to use the crimping tool of a proper size for crimp the ground cable and the lug terminal.

Should be attached suitable grounding cable (16mm2 yellow-green or black) to the ODU FG (frame ground) point.

The ODU grounding cable connects with the nearest grounding bar at the middle or bottom of pole or at the middle of tower in the shortest length, grounding resistance should be less than 10 OHM between ODU and earth. The grounding cable connects roughly straight from upper side to the grounding bar. Don't connect from lower side with grounding bar. Good example Bad example

Don't connect from lower side

1.5 IF Cable run and fixing Black UV protect tie-wrap should be used, and fixing IF cable by cross tightens. For the vertical and horizontal cable run, fixing about 1m intervals by the tie-wrap. The IF cable must fix not loosened but not strong tightened and not any deformation to IF cable. Cross tighten

rigging

On the tower, if the cable crossing the horizontal member, the cable will be placed to the side of tower member for avoids damage from the rigging work and the maintenance work. And, dont fix the IF cable or Grounding cable on the steps in the pole.

2. INDOOR INSTALLTION
2.1 Cable laying Tie-wrap should be used for fixing all cables along the racks by cross tighten to each rack bar. The E1 cable and the DC power cable must be run separately along the cable rack, any existing cables fitted, the same manner of fixing must be followed as a common rule. E1 cable, DC power cable must be fitted to the cable rack as a standard rule of cable management, and don't have any extra spare length loop.

The cable fixing, tie-wrap (indoor type) should be used cross tightens to each bar of the cable rack. The cable laying must have not strong tension and not strong bending. And, don't tighten the cable much strongly.

2.2 IDU installation Before installing IDU into the 19-inch rack, should be re-tighten the screws of the bracket while correcting two brackets to 90 degrees for IDU mount horizontally. Bracket Screw

90

When two IDU or more installed in the 19 inch rack, it is necessary to have the space of 1U between IDUs for heat radiation.

2.3 IF Cable laying After along the IDU's shelf, the IF cable is fixed to the bar on back side of the 19-inch rack by tiewrapping. Tie-wrap IF cable

Tie-wrap

2.4 DC Power cable installation The DC power cable (1.5mm2 red/blue or black/blue) should be kept small spare length for remove the power plug, and fix it to the vertical of 19-inch rack, fixing about 0.2m intervals by cable ties.

Must cut out some extra wires according to the hole size of the pin of the power plug. It is necessary to use the crimping tool of a proper size for crimp the power cable with the pin of power cable. Or use soldering. The wire of "+" and "-" of the DC power cable, connected with the power plug by the catercorner as connected manners. Terminating Power Cables with Power Plug

2.5 IDU grounding The IDU grounding cable (2.5mm2 yellow-green) should be shortest length as possible and attached to the 19-inch rack common earthing point. Grounding for new 19 inch rack Refer to IDU Frame Grounding.

Extra Cable

The main grounding cable (16mm2 yellow-green) connected the grounding bar and 19-inch rack common earthing point by shortest length.

2.6 E1 cable connection (120 ohm unbalance) The cable of all E1 channels composed in IDU is connected with DDF specified position uses by the correct punching tool.

E1 cable laying in the back side of horizontal bar of the 19-inch rack and reach to the DDF through the cable rack.

E1 cable stripped with sufficient length to reach the DDF and unused wires to be cut. The laying manner for IDUs E1 cables should be positioned at opposite side of BTSs E1 cables in the DDF.

2.7 E1 cable connectivity test Confirm connectivity for the E1 cable from D-Connector to DDF terminal. Make Loop back to DDF corresponding CH position. Check connectivity of all channels by PNMT status alarm OFF. Loop back

3. Initial Lineup
3.1 When configure the equipment in the initial lineup, change the Date/Time setting of IDU's default set to correct local Date/Time. must execute to

3.2 If changed the maintenance mode to ON by some reasons while initial lineup, must make the maintenance mode to OFF after finished initial lineup. 3.3 Should be inhibit no-traffic E1 channel to alarm-OFF.
