PID
For a brief introduction to PID we suggest you read our four paragraph introduction What Is PID? For a thorough understanding of the PID algorithm we suggest you read one of our fine PID Self-Help Manuals Working with RS Logix? Check out these free guides: QUICK START GUIDE FOR USING THE PID BLOCK IN LOGIX 500 QUICK START GUIDE FOR USING THE PID BLOCK IN LOGIX 5000 QUICK START GUIDE FOR TUNING THE PID BLOCK IN LOGIX 500 QUICK START GUIDE FOR TUNING THE PID BLOCK IN LOGIX 5000 NOTE CAREFULLY! All files made available here must be carefully edited by the user for her/his particular application. No files available here can be expected to work correctly in the users application without knowledgeable research and editing. This implies a complete and thorough understanding of the users particular system being controlled. At this time all of the free sample code that were making available here is written in either RSLogix 500 or 5000. For those of you working with other ladder logic programs, weve provided printable copies of the ladder logic in pdf format. You can download these pdf documents and then simply translate the logic into whatever PLC platform you may be using.

Logix5000 Add-Ons TPR.L5X A very handy Add-On for Logix5000 programmers. TPR (Time Proportioning Routine) dramatically simplifies controlling any process where the source must be either off or on (in contrast to devices which can be modulated from low to high). TPR takes the REAL analog output of the PID block and converts it into a time-proportioning boolean (discrete) output. The user can set minimum off and on times as well as cycle time. Logix500 Sample Logic PID Example 1.RSS A basic application of the PID block using voltage or current-proportioning output. This example includes a typical case of the PID block driving an analog output on fieldbus I/O necessitating the use of scaling (SCP function). PID Example 2.RSS A more complex application of the PID block using time-proportioning output. Sample Logic In Printable PDF PID Example 1.pdf A basic application of the PID block using voltage or current-proportioning output. This example includes a typical case of the PID block driving an analog output on fieldbus I/O necessitating the use of scaling (SCP function). PID Example 2.pdf A more complex application of the PID block using time-proportioning output. HOME | PRODUCTS | ABOUT | CONTACT US |
