The fourth annual Hollywood Fringe Festival has arrived with another full week added to the schedule. Now more than ever, June is for fringing. We started the Fringe to strengthen the performing arts community in Los Angeles by bringing otherwise isolated theatre artists together into a nurturing and creative environment. Since 2010, this community has evolved into something vaster than our imaginings. Each year has been greater than the last and we know 2013 will continue that trend. With hundreds of shows on the menu, part of the fun of fringing is deciding what to see; there are no wrong decisions as every performance is a unique and special experience. We encourage you to choose your own adventure; the most fantastic Fringe moments are often the most spontaneous. To help you on your way, look no further than this Guide. Inside is a wealth of information about the shows with tips for navigating the festival.
Our best advice to you: Throw yourself headlong into this experience. Take risks. Meet new people. Keep an open mind. Search for something indescribable, something deeper, something more. Redefine all definition. Defy the normal. And of course, stay hungry. Welcome to the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival! Fringe On, Ben Hill, Festival Director

TICKETS Tickets to all productions (including some last-minute additions that arent included in this printed guide) are available at www.hollywoodfringe.org. Starting June 6th, you can stop by the Fringe Box Office (at the Fringe Mainstage, 6209 Santa Monica Blvd) from 5 PM until 11 PM on weekdays or from 2 PM to 11 PM on weekends to purchase tickets to any show in the Fringe. You may also purchase tickets by calling 323-455-4585 (additional fee applies) or by using the Fringe app on your mobile phone. Tickets will also be sold at the door of most performances. THE FRINGE APP Our new festival app, now available for free download in both the Apple App and Google Play stores, has been in development for nearly two years. We hope it will make your Fringe experience easier and more enjoyable! When you download the mobile app, youll be able to purchase tickets on your phone to over two hundred festival productions, as well as browse shows by location, time or category. The app can help personalize the Fringe experience by allowing you to create a unique profile, manage a list of favorite shows and customize your schedule on-the-go. Additional features include a map and navigation for all Fringe venues, access to show reviews and a news feed of the latest Fringe events. Enjoy! And if you find any issues, please let us know by writing to support@hollywoodfringe.org. REVIEWS Giving feedback to an artist about their work or suggesting a show you loved to a friend are powerful contributions to the arts. Write reviews for individual Fringe shows at www.hollywoodfringe.org, or update your own blog, Twitter or Facebook account with your unique point of view (and be sure to use the hashtag #HFF13 and post on the Fringe Facebook page). These reviews are essential when audiences have so many shows from which to choose. COMMUNITY AWARDS Participating in the community by seeing shows, producing projects, hosting venues and writing reviews automatically makes you eligible to receive a ballot for our community-voted Fringe Awards, which can lead to big successes after the Fringe for the winners! Come to the Awards & Closing Night Party on June 30th at Fringe Central Station to see who wins! STAY CONNECTED Stay up-to-date on ticket information, special events and more by checking the Fringe blog (www. hollywoodfringe.org/blog) and our social media networks. Need more information? The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts. Each June during the Hollywood Fringe, the arts infiltrates the Hollywood neighborhood: Fully equipped theaters, parks, clubs, churches, restaurants and other unexpected places host hundreds of productions by local, national, and international arts companies and independent performers. Participation in the Hollywood Fringe is completely open and uncensored. This free-for-all approach underlines the festivals mission to be a platform for artists without the barrier of a curative body. By opening the gates to anyone with a vision, the festival is able to exhibit the most diverse and cutting-edge points-of-view the world has to offer. Additionally, by creating an environment where artists must self-produce their work, the Fringe motivates its participants to cultivate a spirit of entrepreneurialism in the arts. IMPORTANT DATES June 6th-June 11th: Fringe Previews June 12th: Opening Night Party, 7PM at Fringe Central Station June 13th-30th: Fourth Annual Hollywood Fringe Festival June 30th: Awards & Closing Night Party, 7PM at Fringe Central Station
Fringe Box Office & Mainstage (at Open Fist Theatre, 6209 Santa Monica Blvd) The Fringe Box Office is a great place to start if youre not sure what to do next. Fringe Central Station (6314 Santa Monica Blvd.) We are thrilled to be returning to this fantastic venue in the heart of Theatre Row, where well once again be hosting the Fringe social space. The community center of the festival, Fringe Central Station features free programming, networking opportunities, food trucks, Fringe merchandise, major Fringe events (like the Opening and Closing Night Parties) and is the location of Bryans Bar, the infamous Fringe watering hole. The Fringe Concierge will be present to assist you with all your Fringe wants and needs. Fringe Central Station will open for the first time on June 12th at 7 PM for the Opening Night Party and will be open from 5 PM to Midnight Mondays-Thursdays, from 2 PM to 2 AM Fridays & Saturdays, and from 2 PM to Midnight on Sundays starting June 13th. We believe the best ways to experience the Fringe are by bike or on foot. Get exercise and protect the environment! Most of the venues are within walking distance of each other, so its possible to see four or five shows in close proximity all in one day. Use this Guide (and the Map on the back page) to plan your day accordingly. Most of all, be safe! Public Transportation L.A.s public transportation system (the Metro) includes buses and rail lines. There are two Hollywood stops (Red Line) indicated on the Map (at the back of this Guide). You can plan your public transportation trip using the Metro Trip Planner at www.metro.net. Lyft This year, weve partnered with Lyft to ensure that Fringers always have a safe ride home. Download Lyft in the Apple App Store or on Google Play and request an instant pickup from a friendly, background-checked community driver for less than the cost of a cab. Enter the code FRINGELYFT in the settings of the app to receive a $10 credit. Parking If you must drive, please keep in mind that parking in Hollywood can be difficult on evenings and weekends, so make sure to allow for extra time. Always make sure to read the posted signs as certain areas are restricted at certain times. There are many pay-to-park lots with flat rates from $8 to $15. There is also a good amount of street parking to be found on smaller streets.

FRINGE FAMILY
The Hollywood Fringe encourages families to participate in the festival and expose the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and creators to the arts. Fringe Family takes place on Sundays during the festival (June 16th, 23rd and 30th) from 11 AM-3 PM at Fringe Central Station and features full days of kid-friendly activity, including childrens theatre, puppets, balloon animals, crafts and more, all without any admission fee. In addition, many Fringe productions have included age suggestions (which you can see in the show descriptions) to make it easy for families to identify programming more appropriate and fun for their kids during the festival.
ZERO-WASTE DAYS
The Hollywood Fringe Cares About the Environment! The Fringe has committed to a series of Zero Waste Days on the days of the Opening & Closing Night Parties (June 12th & June 30th) and Fridays and Saturdays during the fest (June 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd, 28th & 29th) as part of a partnership with Crown Disposal. With the help of the Fringe community, we will push to divert over 60% of our trash from our local landfills. Fringe is also partnering with Repurpose Compostables to provide eco-friendly cups and containers for distribution at Bryans Bar. We encourage Fringers to leave their cars behind and explore the Fringe zone by bike or by foot!
FRINGE TV
Keep track of whats happening all over the Fringiverse by watching episodic coverage on FringeTV, featuring participant interviews, event coverage, venue spotlights and other special features. Episodes will be posted at www.hollywoodfringe.org and shared via our Facebook and Twitter feeds, or you can go our YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/HollywoodFringe).
