Present continuous:

Subject +

We use present continuous to talk about something that is happening at the moment we speak.

to be +verb + -ing + complement. (Am-is-are)

He is working in a school. They are reading the newspaper. We are playing soccer in the park. To make the ing form we add ing: Walk + ing Go + ing walking going

There are some exceptions.

Come + ing: coming But: see +ing: seeing With verbs that end with ie, we change ie to ying. Lie + ing: lying Verbs ending with one vowel (a,e,I,o,u) and one consonant (b,c,d,f,g,k,l,m,n,p,.) we double the consonant. Sit + ing: sitting Run +ing: running. But note that we dont double the consonant. - when it is a Y or W (e.g) play + ing: playing.
