Women are powerful. As of 2010 women constitute over half the workforce and college graduate population in the United States1. Women are the decision-makers for over 65% of global consumer spending.2 In the developed world, research consistently finds that women's significant presence in any organization's leadership will help it thrive.3 In developing economies, the same effect is now understood to contribute to local community and economic health/wealth.4 With the world struggling to exit recession and adjust to rapidly shifting economic factors, it is inevitable that women will play a pivotal leadership role in the development of the new centurys economy. This new economic place for women - including our cultural awareness of the financial and productivity benefits to having women in leadership positions are both recent phenomenon. As a result, as we begin 2012 the majority of professional women do not yet understand their power in the new economy or their responsibility to lead the economic recovery. For cultural reasons they do not fully appreciate the deep resources within them, which recent research is helping to identify, that will support them as they step into this responsibility more actively to support their countries, their companies and their families. InPower Women is addressing these gaps with principle-based online resources. Our mission is to rewrite the narrative on women on women and power, inspiring, educating and enabling hundreds of thousands of professional women to claim their personal power, the critical first step to helping them obtain and maintain positions of external power and responsibility . The Woman Effect a downloadable research index and ebook series consolidating and interpreting women's leadership research findings for the busy working woman. "How To" Resources - self-service eCoaching courses, books, workshops and other programming options offering professional women the opportunity to build their leadership skills in flexible, accessible and powerful ways at their own convenience. Philanthropy Opportunities - prescreened nonprofit women's empowerment programs will be identified and professional women will be given multiple opportunities to support them in ways that meet their giving profile (e.g., financial, volunteer, leadership etc.). Social Network - groups and pages on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter enable the extended network of InPower women to network. Target Market InPower Women reaches professional women (age 25-55) in the corporate, entrepreneurial and nonprofit sectors located in urban centers with family income $75,000+.

Background
InPower Women is founded, owned and operated by Dana Theus, Principle of Magus Consulting llc, located in Arlington, Virginia minutes from downtown Washington DC. Capitalizing on a 25-year business career in marketing/business development, strategic planning and leadership development, Dana Theus has worked for Fortune 100 companies, entrepreneurial startups, government agencies and non-profits. In launching her successful leadership blog, Reclaiming Leadership, in 2011 she found her message of InPowerment resonating strongly with professional women and quickly established blogging relationships with strong womens blogs and websites. Her articles are featured and syndicated today on Smartbrief, Blogher, The Glass Hammer, Success in the City, Owning Pink and shes quickly gained a strong following on LinkedIn and Twitter and gained warm receptions as a motivational speaker to womens groups. In her leadership practice, Dana is the founder of the InPower eCoaching online service, is an Executive Consultant at The Clearing (a federal government contractor) and is a certified facilitator and trainer in The PRIMES leadership and group dynamics methodologies. She is on the faculty at the George Washington University Center for Excellence in Public Leadership, is a member of the Arlington Economic Development Commission and sits on the Board of the District Alliance for Safe Housing (DASH), serving survivors of domestic violence. Dana has also taught graduate courses at the George Mason University School of Business and the University of Maryland School of Public Policy. She has a BA in Communications from the University of California at Los Angeles and an MA in Communications from the University of Southern California.
