1. Introduction
Validation test case study given in this document is based on axial single-stage compressor experimental data (NASA Technical Paper 1659) and calculation results obtained with AxSTREAM. The experimental configuration consisted of an axial compressor stage with 20-cm inlet duct before. Neither of IGV or OGV are used. This stage is taken from an eight-stage compressor having total pressure ratio of 20. The main goal of this study is to obtain calculation data and compare it with data published in NASA documentation.

2. Inputs
The rotor is designed for maximum tip speed of 454 m/s. The blade twist is applied to both rotor ant stator blades. The number of blades is 36 and 46 for rotor and stator respectively. The mean diameter is about 43 cm and the blade height is 7.45 cm at inlet and 4.77 cm at outlet. The blades aspect ratio is 1.19 for rotor and 1.26 for stator (measured by average blade height). The stage is designed for following operation conditions: - total pressure ratio: 2.05; - airflow: 20.2 kg/s; - maximum Mach number: 1.493 on rotor tip; - maximum diffusion factor: 0.58 at 85 percent of rotor span. - adiabatic efficiency at design point: 0.876
