I.

General

The CSL (Cross hole Sonic Logging) test has been adopted to evaluate the integrity of Bore Pile by measuring the response of an ultrasonic pulse passing from a signal source in one access tube to a receiver in a second access tube.

RS-ST10D Digital Ultrasonic Unite with a microprocessor-based system has been used for the field test and data processing in this project. The equipment has been sent for the calibration before the test, the field work has been carried out according to the submitted method statement.

Sonic logging test has been carried out on site for the Bored Pile BP_MC140 on 04.03.11. This report is to present the summary results of sonic logging test for BP_MC140. The

details comprise tabulated data and graph on wave velocity vs. depth, amplitude of the pulse vs. depth and first arrival time vs. depth. The logging wave images are also attached in this report for information. Based on the field record, processed results and analysis, the

engineering interpretation for each pile test is given in this report.

* Cut off Level 89.997m RL @ depth 11.218m from top level 101.084 m RL of the access tubes. * The distance of section are base on distance measuring on site between the accesses tubes of the top potion of the pile. * Access tube 2 blocked at depth 67m so all testing depth relevant to tube 2 is 67m. * The depth measured from the top of the Access tube 105.097~105.235 m RL.

3. Interpretation and Conclusion:

The most of first arrival time(FAT) and the amplitude of the longitudinal wave in all the section are consistent and no significant weak signal potion found from the bottom to the cut off level of the pile during testing of BP_MC_140. The average transmission velocities of all section which calculated base on the distance measured on site is typical of being good quality concrete as stipulated in ASTM6760-08. There was no clear outright indication of major irregularities in all sections. This pile was identified to be structurally sound with no significant defects detectable. The velocity range of Concrete is from around 3000 to 6000 mps that base on the brand of cement, density of concrete, steel bar distributing, casting time and distance between access testing tubes. The

analysis of the initial pulse arrival time, velocity, relative pulse energy/amplitude and stacked waveform plotted versus depth. Base the results on the percent reduction in velocity value from a nearby zone of good quality concrete with good signal amplitude and energy as correlated to the following:

Concrete Condition Rating Criteria (CCRC) CCRC Good Questionable Defect Poor Rating Symbol G Q P/D Velocity Reduction 10 % Indicative Results Good quality concrete

>10 % & < 20 % Minor concrete contamination or intrusion and questionable quality concrete > 20 % Defects exist, possible water/slurry contamination, soil intrusion and/or poor quality concrete Soil intrusion or other severe defect absorbed the signal (assumes good bond of the tubeconcrete interface) Water intrusion or water filled gravel intrusion with few or no fines present
