ARCHITECTS OF CHANGE News

Mr. Martins Grade 3 Family Communication

This Week, the Architects will: Explore the Massachusetts colony and how it plays a role in the American Revolution. Explore how creative ideas are inspired by group collaboration (826Boston). Explore how animals adapt over time to survive (Harvard University Natural History Museum). Read a variety of grade level texts to research and gather information about animals, their habitats, diets, adaptations, and how they are able to survive in their ecosystems. Solve multi-step addition and subtraction problems that require you to pay attention to details and understand the operations necessary to accurately compute them. For Your Information: Field Trip Schedule We are excited to participate in field trips that connect what we have learned all year throughout our school community. We are looking for field trip chaperones to share in these experiences. We will be traveling by MBTA, so please prepare for travel by bus and subway. Here are the scheduled field trips from 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: May 28th 826 Boston (Eggleston Square) th May 29 Natural History Museum (Harvard University) th June 5 Scavenger Hunt (Freedom Trail)Date Changed!!!! th June 18 Boston Childrens Museum th June 19 Museum of Science of Boston th June 25 Boston Public Library @ Copley

To participate on these field trips (which are privilegesnot required), students must:

Demonstrate great behavior at all times. Complete homework and class assignments on timenot just the day of or before a field trip, but throughout the time they are given. Have a student information sheet with updated information on file. Turn in his field trip form signed (not to be given until a week before each field trip) Wear complete school uniform. Bring lunch the day of the field trip.

On our Field Trip to the Apple Store, Students had an opportunity to learn how to use Garage Band, a music program to create their own beats and songs. We also visited the Boston Marathon Memorial and even had a few moments to enjoy the Fredia Garcia Park at Back Bay Station. Thanks to Ms. Sanchez, Jayros mom for making our field trip a blast!!!
