- QATAR Industrialization in Mesaieed area started with Qafco in 1969. - From modest beginning as 300 KT urea producer in 1973 Qafco today is one of the largest quality Urea Producer in the world with 3000KT produced in 2010. - When Q5 and Q6 are completed by 2011/2012,QAFCO will not only be the largest Ammonia and Urea Producer in the world, but will export 15% of the world tradable urea product.
The Qafco 5 / 6 Project consists of the Execution of the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Start Up of two new complete Ammonia and Urea plants, including Off Sites and associated Utilities.
WHERE?
The Complex is located at Mesaieed industrial City, in the State of Qatar. Mesaieed is located on the SouthEast coast of Qatar, 50 km South of the capital Doha. The project is executed on a Lumpsum Turnkey basis with Saipem responsible for Engineering, Procurement, Commissioning and Startup and Hyundai Engineering and Construction responsible for Construction.
