Valence Health Appoints Scott J. Cullen, MD as Executive Director of Consulting Services

Experienced healthcare executive brings expertise in population health, clinical integration and valuebased care to leading provider customers

CHICAGO, ILL. MAY 29, 2013 Valence Health, a leading provider of clinical integration, population health and financial risk management solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott J. Cullen, MD to Executive Director of Valence Health Consulting Services. In his new role, Scott will expand the companys consulting practice to further help provider organizations successfully transition to value-based payment and care delivery models. Scott brings such a depth of knowledge and healthcare industry experience that he will have an immediate impact on our consulting team and the company, said Phil Kamp, Valence Health CEO. In his new position, hell provide the leadership our clients need to meet the challenges of population health, clinical integration and value-based care. Prior to joining Valence, Dr. Cullen led strategic and operational planning for the development of clinically-integrated delivery networks, accountable care organizations and risk-based contracting as a senior vice president with Kaufman Hall. He began his consulting career at Accenture, where he gained extensive experience in technology planning and implementation in the areas of clinical analytics, electronic medical records, and health information exchanges. Dr. Cullen began his professional career as a primary care and emergency medicine physician in the greater Boston area for 10 years. He is an active speaker on current healthcare trends, frequently presenting on physician alignment strategy and clinical integration and its implications for physicians and hospitals. He has presented at national meetings of the American College of Healthcare Executives, The Governance Institute, the Healthcare Financial Management Association

and the American Hospital Association and is a member of American College of Physician Executives and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Cullen trained in family medicine at Brown University after receiving his doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and his B.A. from Wesleyan University.
