With the front and back sides revealing the case and the other sides specifications and key features, I would say that Chaser A31 comes in a styling box. Not to mention that A31 is fully protected inside the box by two polystyrene pillars and covered by a plastic bag. So you do not have to worry about any damages during delivery. Seeing the exterior, the construction of the Chaser A31 case creates a very good first impression by the black metal meshed highlighted with blue fluorescence stripes on the front panel and the acrylic side panel window, allowing you to take a view inside the case.

The top front of the Chaser A31 has a pair of SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports, 3.5mm headphone and microphone jacks, power/reset buttons with blue LED and HDD activity LED. A plastic tray on top is designed for resting some gadgets or store some of the flash drives, even an 2.5 external drive. Quite handy. Also there is a large perforated mesh section with dust filter for heat dissipation. Both side panels have a convex construction to allow more space for the CPU cooler and for cable management as well. To easy remove the side panel, Thermaltake provide us a lever pressing and also you dont have to completely withdraw the thumbscrews. Very convenient. The Chaser A31 feels stable and doesn't have any diagonal movement due to the solid construction, even with the thin steel used. By the lightweight and the easy removement of the top and front panel, wich gives you quick access to any part of the case, I guess its ideal for LAN parties.

As a mid-tower computer chassis Chaser A31 features three external bays that can be used as 5.25" and one can be converted to a 3.5" bay. All intake ventilation holes come with dust protection including a removable dust filter at the bottom of the chassis.

Along with the user manual, inside the case you will find an zip lock bag with plenty of accessories as cable ties, a buzzer, 5.25" to 3.5" bay cover for FDD, 5.25" to 3.5" cage for FDD/3.5"HDD/2.5"HDD and a lot of screws for fans, motherboard and others.

Enjoy Both ATX and micro ATX motherboards are supported. We have motherboard mounts pre-fitted, a large CPU cut-out for an easy installation, four holes for advanced cable management, three are covered with rubber grommets, but the one for the 8-pin power is not. There are six hard drive bays that can be used for either a SSD or a 2.5"/3.5" hard drive, where three of the bays are placed in a removable HDD cage for extra long graphic cards. A 3.5 drive simply sit within the bracket without any screws. If you are planning to buy an SSD wich comes without an adapter bracket, ThermalTake already took care of it, by providing you screws to secure it or any 2.5 HDD in their ingenious drive bays.

In order to install an ODD you have to remove the front panel to take off one of the three bay covers, but I managed to do it without removing it. An ODD is held in place by a single plastic clip on one side wich secures the drive as you slide it in. In order to unlock the device just press the tool-free mechanism and it will come out.

There are two 120mm preinstalled fans, one rear exhaust fan with a blue LED at the back of the chassis and an intake one at the front, to optimize system ventilation. Both fans operates at 1000 RPM. So there is a lower noise level.

Besides the two default fans, we can install two 120mm or 140mm fans in the roof, where there is also support for liquid cooler like Thermaltake Water 2.0 or Corsair H100, a second 120mm in the front and a 120mm near the PSU. In this area there are seven PCI expansion slot covers with ventilation mesh for airflow, two rubber grommets and a honeycomb ventilation.

Desired features Unfortunately I couldnt use at least one graphic card as I planned for the installation, but as you can see there is plenty of room for it. So I fit in an ASRock FM2A85X Extreme 6 motherboard with AMD A10-5800K as CPU, 2X8 GB 1600 MHz Kingston HyperX Red memory kit, Kingston HyperX 3K 120 GB SSD and Club3D CSP-X1000CB 1000 W PSU ( planned for two graphic cards ). As for the optical drive test I used an old one wich I found around the house, but I didnt install it because I dont use it anymore.

For me, Thermaltake Chaser A31 it is one good quality case with a good airflow for a proper system ventilation. A very convenient thing is the easy acces to any part of the case with the front and top panel being easily removable. In this case if youll ever damage any of the front panel connectivity parts there is no doubt that you can do your own service repair.

Also there is plenty of room for cable management ( nearly two centimeters ) and I think you can mod it too. And I could actually fit one large flash drive and a card reader due to the clever positioning of the two usb 3.0 ports.

Unfortunately the HD audio cable is too short to use since the motherboard front panel audio header its in the opposite corner.

I had to carry the case to another place and it proved to be light in weight, but a carry handle would be great.
