We now move onto the Planets. We consider 9 Planets in our Indian Traditional System of Jyotish. Rahu Ketu are the Nodes of the Moon, yet we consider them as Planets because they are equally important in effecting the destiny of the native. Remember this Table always, as this well help you for Life Time. P.S. We are not talking of the Mool Trikona signs as yet and neither signs of Detriment for each planet . We want to make the course utmost simple for any person to follow astrology. We do not wish to go into any complications as yet or the intricacies of astrology, or what you may call the nuances. Some people may say that this Gyan must be given only to deserving persons. But the requisite Su Patra who is required, is already here, because only the interested would read all this. Isnt it ? Who are we to judge who is a supatra and who is a supatra ? This will happen only afterwards, If the person with astrological knowledge uses this for fooling people just for making money, then he becomes a kupatra. And this only he will know and the Lord knows. We will know only if we become victims. So we must not get into philosophy of good and bad, but just do our duties. What did you notice above? / How to use above Table ? There are total 27 Nakshatras in use normally. (Additional Abhijit we will not talk about now). Notice that the Nakshatras mentioned in the Horizontal Lines are ruled by the same Planet, for instance Ashwini, Magha and Mool are ruled by Ketu. Serial wise they come in order as No.1, 10 and 19 respectively in the order of 27 nakshatras. If You Total 1, 10 and 19, they all end up in One. This total is very important in advanced astrology which we will take up later, only for serious students. The number of years allotted to Ketu in the Order of Vimsottari dasha system is 7 years, which means Ketu Mahadasha will influence a man for maximum 7 years in his Life, if it is given full reign in his Life time. A person suppose he is born in Mula nakshatra at time of Birth, he will be having Mahadasha of Ketu running at time of his Birth and the others which will follow in his Life would be, Venus mahadasha, then Surya Mahadasha, then Chandra Mahadasha and so on, till he lives. Born in Mula Nakshatra at time of birth means, his Moon at time of Birth was in Moola nakshatra. All softwares give us calculations in minutes these days, but we must know how to calculate these, which we shall learn later on. Wherever we can learn the how of it, we must learn it. At the moment, at this stage of the course you need not have anything to do with Nakshatras, but yet for records sake, we are mentioning.
