Recommended Scan Settings For best processing speed, quality, and file size it is recommended that you use the following default scanner settings on the MFP (multifunction printer) scanner: Scanner Format TIFF DPI 300 Color Mode BW (1-bit) for Text Only and Fax Documents Color (24-bit) for mixed content and images TIP: Scanning in Grayscale (8-bit) mode is not recommend as it can create file sizes that are larger than the same files scanned in Color (24-bit) mode.
