WG 9 will meet at the end of this year to discuss the comments with the aim to prepare the DIS layout. Items related to ISO and IEC committees in liaison with ISO/TC 108/SC 2
ISO/TC 60 "Gears" ISO 8579-2 "Acceptance code for gears Part 2: Determination of mechanical vibrations of gear units during acceptance testing" was published in 1993 and was confirmed during the systematic review 2004. ISO/TC 70 "Internal combustion engines" ISO 8528-9 "Reciprocating internal combustion engine driven alternating current generating sets Part 9: Measurement and evaluation of mechanical vibrations" was published in 1995. No revision is planned. ISO/TC 98 "Bases for design of structures" Since ISO 10137:1992 "Bases for design of structures Serviceability of buildings and pedestrian walkways against vibration" was due for revision by ISO/TC 98/SC 2/WG 9, ISO/TC 108/SC 2 decided to nominate the convenor of its WG 3, Mr. B. O. Skipp, as liaison officer. The main objective of SC 2 is to urge TC 98 to substitute the reprinted clauses of TC 108 standards by references to the relevant TC 108 vibration standards, see Resolution 12/1999. In December 2004 a first CD for the revision was circulated for voting which came unfortunately not before May 2005 to the attention of the SC 2 secretariat. The document was circulated to ISO/TC 108/SC 2 members in May 2005 as doc. 108/2 N 458 for comments. ISO/TC 115 "Pumps" A joint working group has developed ISO/CD 10816-7 "Mechanical vibration Evaluation of machine vibration by measurements on non-rotating parts Part 7: Rotodynamic pumps for industrial application", see under item 3 of this report.

ISO/TC 117 "Industrial fans" ISO 14694 "Industrial fans Specifications for balance quality and vibration levels" and ISO 14695 "Industrial fans Method of measurement of fan vibration" were published in 2003. ISO/TC 118 "Compressors, pneumatic tools and pneumatic machines" ISO/DIS 10440-1:2004 "Petroleum and natural gas industries Rotary-type positivedisplacement compressors Part 1: Process compressors (oil-free)" was circulated in May 2004 for voting, deadline was 2004-10-20. The standard is based on API 619. ISO/TC 192 "Gas turbines" ISO 3977-3:2004 "Gas turbines Procurement Part 3: Design requirements" was published as new edition in August 2004. IEC/TC 2 "Rotating machinery" IEC 60034-14:2003 "Rotating electrical machines Part 14: Mechanical vibration of certain machines with shaft heights 56 mm and higher Measurment, evaluation and limits of vibration severity" was published in 2003. Resolution 1/2004 Since the proposed changes to the scope were considered as purely editorial, a Technical Corrigendum 1 to ISO 108162:2001 was published on 2004-08-01. Resolution 2/2004 PWI 22266 registered.

Commenting Template It is important that comments on WDs, CDs and DIS and FDIS are submitted electronically by using the latest version of the commenting template (version 2001-10).
