PEPPERMINT

Botanical Name Mentha Piperita


Best smelling plant of all time whenever you feel low the mint candy always help you in keeping your spirits high. It sends a cooling sensation from your throat to your esophagus. This medicinal plant finds its application from the ancient times. This plant is naturally enriched with Vitamin A , C and manganese. It is also very helpful in reducing number of symptoms including irritable bowel syndrome, upset stomachs, fevers, flatulence and spastic colon.

HOLY BASIL (TULSI)

Botanical Name Ocimum Sanctum


Holy Basil or tulsi as it is called in India is a very renowned medicinal plant. It is also worshiped in some parts of Indian and regarded as sacred. Coming back to its medicinal uses it is used for to bring down fever, to fight cold and flu, tulsi oil can be used as a potent anti malarial drug, it can be used to reduce earache. Moreover it also increases the antibody production of the body.

ALOE VERA

Botanical Name Aloe Barbadensis


Aloe Vera , I think all of you must be familiar with its name because it finds its applications in various things. This medicinal plant can be used to heal the burns, wounds. The bottom stalk of the aloe vera can be used as a balm on the burn thereby relieving you instantly. Besides this the plant can be used in the treatment of eczema and reducing inflammation. This can also be eaten to treat digestive problems, ulcerative colitis, chronic constipation and poor appetite.

NEEM

Botanical Name Azadirachta Indica


In Ayurvedic literature neem is described in the following manner: Neem bark is cool, bitter, astringent, acrid and refrigerant. It is useful in tiredness, cough, fever, loss of appetite, worm infestation. It heals wounds and vitiated conditions of kapha, vomiting, skin diseases, excessive thirst, and diabetes. Neem leaves are reported to be beneficial for eye disorders and insect poisons. It treats Vatik disorder. It is anti-leprotic. Its fruits are bitter, purgative, anti-hemorrhoids and anthelmintic.

BLACKBERRIES

With its taste and its use in our food in the form of jam or as an vegetable, Blackberries enriched with antioxidants and vitamins has also various uses as medicines. The leaves and root can be used as an effective treatment against dysentery and diarrhea as well as can be served as an anti-inflammatory and astringent. This plant is ideal for treating cuts and inflammation in the mouth therefore can be used as a substitute of Glycerin.

PAPAYA

Botanical Name Carica Papaya


Papaya is used for preventing and treating gastrointestinal tract disorders, intestinal parasite infections, and as a sedative and diuretic. It is also used for nerve pains (neuralgia) and elephantoid growths. Elephantoid growths are large swollen areas of the body that are symptoms of a rare disorder of the lymphatic system caused by parasitic worms.

AMLA

Botanical Name Phyllanthus Emblica


Amla or gooseberry as it's also known as, is rich in chromium, which makes it very beneficial for diabetics. It is known to stimulate the isolated group of cells that secrete the hormone insulin. This decreases the blood sugar. One small Amla is equals to 2 Oranges if compared with Vitamin C. The Vitamin C in the Amalaki fruit is bonded with tannins that protect it from being destroyed by heat or light.

LEMON

Botanical Name Citrus Limonum


Lemon is used to treat scurvy, a condition caused by not having enough vitamin C. Lemon is also used for the common cold and flu, H1N1 (swine) flu, ringing in the ears(tinnitus), Meniere's disease, and kidney stones. It is also used to aid digestion, reduce pain and swelling (inflammation), improve the function of blood vessels, and increase urination to reduce fluid retention.

GINGER

Botanical Name Zingiber officinale


Ginger root (Zingiber officinale) is well known as a remedy for travel sickness, nausea and indigestion and is used for wind, colic, irritable bowel, loss of appetite, chills, cold, flu, poor circulation, menstrual cramps, dyspepsia (bloating, heartburn, flatulence), indigestion and gastrointestinal problems such as gas and stomach cramps. Ginger is a powerful anti-inflammatory herb and there has been much recent interest in its use for joint problems. It has also been indicated for arthritis, fevers, headaches, toothaches, coughs, bronchitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, to ease tendonitis, lower cholesterol and blood-pressure and aid in preventing internal blood clots.

CORIANDER

Botanical Name Coriandrum Sativum


Coriander is primarily used in modern medicine as a flavoring agent in medicines and as a stomach soothing addition to more irritating compounds. For upset stomach and flatulence relief, chew on Coriander seeds or drink a tea made from the seeds. For relief from the pain of rheumatism, pound the seeds and combine with hot water or tea to make a paste, then apply to the affected area. Oatmeal may be added to this mixture to produce the desired consistency.
