- Vocabulary Find two definitions for each words, highlight the important words and add two pictures for each words: a.- Reliability 1.- The ability of an apparatus, machine, or system to consistently perform its intended or required function or mission, on demand and without degradation or failure. 2.- The probability that a given item will perform its intended function for a given period of time under a given set of conditions.

b.- Integrity 1.- Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. 2.- State of a system where it is performing its intended functions without being degraded or impaired by changes or disruptions in its internal or external environments.

c.- Security 1.- Refers to techniques for ensuring that data stored in a computer cannot be read or
compromised by any individuals without authorization. 2.- Something that gives or assures safety.

D.- Privacy 1.- The quality or condition of being secluded from the presence or view of others. 2.- In general, the right to be free from secret surveillance and to determine whether, when, how, and to whom, one's personal or organizational information is to be revealed.

E.- Anonymity 1.- The quality or state of being unknown or unacknowledged. 2.- A situation in which something has no interesting or unusual features.

f.- Intellectual property 1.- Refers to any property that is created using original thought. Traditional intellectual property rights include patents, copyrights and trademarks. 2.- A right that is had by a person or by a company to have exclusive rights to use its own plans, ideas, or other intangible assets without the worry of competition, at least for a specific period of time.

g.- Authenticity 1.- The quality or condition of being authentic, trustworthy, or genuine. 2.- Characteristic of a document or record created by the entity represented as its creator, and preserved in its original form without any falsification or tampering.

h.- Digital division: 1.- the socioeconomic and other disparities between those people whohave
opportunities and skills enabling them to benefit from digitalresources, especially the Internet, and those who do not have these opportunities orskills. 2.- A digital divide is an economic inequality between groups, broadly construed, in terms of

access to, use of, or knowledge of information and communication technologies.

i.- Equality of access.1.- The ideal of equal access is fundamental to American democracy and the rest of the world. Today, people are constantly discussing and debating whether or not everyone has equal access to everything. The equal access of technology has become one of the greatest issues of them all. 2.- The concept that all persons should have equal rights of access, for example, to sporting facilities. Equality of access does not necessarily lead to equality of opportunity.

j.- Surveillance .1.- Close observation of a person or group, especially one under suspicion.
2.- monitoring, observing, listening to persons, their movements, conversations, other activities or communications.

k.- Globalization .1.- Globalization (or globalisationsee spelling differences) is the process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas, and other aspects of culture. 2.- Name for the process of increasing the connectivity and interdependence of the world's markets and businesses. This process has speeded up dramatically in the last two decades as technological advances make it easier for people to travel, communicate, and do business internationally.
