Jahangirnagar University (JU) is one of the largest public Universities in Bang ladesh.

In this University, everyday students and teachers need transport. For t his service, university authorities provided a good transport system for the stu dents and teachers. University Transport office is situated in front of Nawab Fajilatunnesa Hall. In this office, there are 77 office staffs including Assistant Teacher and Externa l Assistant Teacher. Every day, approximately 50 trips took place. This service also includes off day service for teachers and students. There are 26 trips for teachers and approxim ately 21 for students. JU transport office provides transport many of the places of city. For teacher s bus service they provide transport to Mirpur, Malibag, Uttara, Jigatala, Gulisthan etc. and for the students there are only 3 routes. One route is Uttara, another is Manik Mia Avenue and the last is Gulisthan. Every day, there are 5 trips to U ttara, 6 trips to Malibag, 4 trips to Mirpur, 2 trips to Jigatala and rest of th e trips are to Gulisthan for teacher s Bus service. On the other hand, there are 6 t rips to Manik Mia Avenue, 4 trips to Uttara and rest of the trips to Gulisthan f or the student s bus service. JU transport office provides their bus service with th e help of university s own bus and rental bus service from BRTC. Now, JU transport o ffice has 16 buses of its own. 5 Double Decker buses and 4 single Decker buses h ave provided by BRTC. JU transport office has some problems. Some students claimed that, the transport office isn t providing correct number of bus service for the students. In addition they said that there are some important routes where students need bus service b ut the authority isn t taking any proper decision to provide bus service on those ro utes. A few days ago, JU welcomed their new VC Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain. After his arri val, JU VC organized the transport system very well. For any problem in any rout e, he ordered to solve this problem with any cost at minimum time.
