Congratulations to several people are in order. First, congratulations to Katie Reith, daughter of parishioners Fred & Marilyn Reith, who is being wedded this Saturday (June 8 th) to Nevin Morgan. We hope they are given a beautiful summer today in which to celebrate this happy occasion. We congratulate Gina Mason on being commissioned as a eucharistic minister during weekday Mass this past Wednesday evening. Gina also brings Holy Communion to the sick and we are grateful for her willingness to serve in this way, as we are to all of our extraordinary ministers. Finally we congratulate the 20 young people and two adults who are being confirmed by Bishop Quinn this Sunday at the 11:15am Mass. We welcome the Bishop and thank him for taking the journey to pray with us this weekend. Please offer this new prayer, part of the Revised Roman Missal, on behalf of those being confirmed: Accept graciously these your servants, O Lord, together with your Only Begotten Son, so that, signed with his Cross and with a spiritual anointing, they may constantly offer themselves to you in union with him and merit each day a greater outpouring of your Spirit. Through Christ our Lord.

We are in real need of the basics. Peanut butter and jelly, pasta and sauce, canned vegetables; particularly corn, green beans and baked beans. We also need paper products such as toilet paper and paper towels. Any basic food or household item will come in handy and of course cash donations can be put in an envelope marked W.S.O. and put into the poor box. Cash donations are used to buy food, pay for utility bills and emergency gasoline needs. Thank You. Adultery is the fundamental betrayal of love, the violation of a covenant that was made in Gods sight. Adultery is committed when two people, at least one of whom is married to someone else, have sexual relations. Jesus himself explicitly declared the indissolubility of marriage in Mark 10:9 What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder. His words cited the original will of the creator abolishing the toleration of divorce in the Old Testament. As infidelity in marriage is often justified by the so-called sexual revolution, Blessed Pope John Paul II said, The root of the crisis of marriage and family, lies in a false notion of freedom.
