OUR SALVATION ATC 101 COURSE OBJECTIVES By the end of this course, the students should: Understand what

t it means to be saved i.e. born again. All be saved born again. COURSE CONTENT 1. MAN IN GODS ORIGINAL PLAN AND GLORY In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and their content including man for His own pleasure. God owns everything including the life of man (Gen.1: 1-27, Ps. 24:1, Rev. 4:11). God created man as His precious and peculiar treasure, making him the CROWN of His creation. He man in charge of His entire estate on Earth with full authority and dominion (Gen.1: 26-30,2:8, 15:;Ps.8:6-8, 115:16). Man was essentially created in the same likeness and spirit image of God His body formed from the dust of the earth and the breath of life from God created his soul. God crowed him and the glory of God was upon him (Ps. 8:4-5). Man had the very nature of God making man a little Himself. 2. THE FALL OF MAN AND ITS IMPLICATIONS Man traded his position of authority and dominion to the devil by the willful sin by choice of Adam when he contravened Gods commandment. (Gen.3:1-24, 1 Tim. 2:14). Man fell short of Gods glory, which previously crowned him (Ps.3:4, Rom. 3:23) and became subservient to the devil (Luke 4:6) Man inherited the sin nature which is of the devil and hence death (Ps. 51:1-5, Rom.6:23, Eph. 2:11-12). Man is without Christ, alienated from the Commonwealth of Israel and stranger to the covenant of promise, without hope and without God in the world Eph. 2; 11-12. NEED FOR REPENTANCE: With the entrance of sin death, reigned in man (Rom. 5:12-15)

All have sinned, Ps.51:5, Rom.3:10-23,6:23) Wages and consequences of sin are real, Gen.3:15-17, 1 Cor.15:56,Rom.1:18-32, Rom.6:23. God is Pure, Holy (Lev. 19:2) and hates iniquity, though He loves man, the sin of man separates him from God. (Is.59:1-2). JESUS THE SAVIOUR AND THE ONLY WAY TO SALVATION. All without exemption have sinned and come short of Gods glory. To reattain to Gods glory, God has FIXED only one way back to Himself. 2 Cor.5:12-21, Acts4:12). Jesus is the only way. John 14:6, Act 4:12. 5. THE SALVATION PACKAGE Our salvation package is complete. Salvation (SOZO) implies life, freedom forgiveness, healing, peace, redemption from poverty, affliction, oppression etc. It is a common salvation Jude 3. It is for every one who believes, Rom. 1:16, John 1:12-13 It is for the whole world, John 3:16, Rom 5:18. It can be appropriated only by repentance and confession. Rom 10:9-10, Jesus restores us to God. Spirit, Soul and Body. 6. CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING THE SALVATION PACKAGE

Gods wrath and judgment awaits everyone who rejects the salvation message, John 3:18, Rom.1:18. 7. A FRESH CALL TO REPENTANCE Repentance is the doorway back to Gods throne Jesus Christ (John 10:9). You must realize you are a sinner and cannot save yourself. Repent, confess and forsake your sins (Acts 2:38). Receive Jesus Christ into your life as Lord and Savior (Rom. 10:10) Repentance is a continuous process through the life of a Christian Repentance separates what God loves (man) from what God hates (sin). Because God has already judged sin (Ezek.18:4; Rom. 6:23).

8.

THE NEW BIRTH:

The new birth experience or being born again is the direct implication and follow-up to repentance and confession. The new birth-second birth i.e. being born again is a supernatural act accomplished by God Himself as a follow-up to repentance and confession (Rom 10:9-10). It is the divine ability (grace) given a sinner by God to become a saint upon profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repentance being a prerequisite (Eph. 2:6, Act3: 1-9). The Spirit of man hitherto dead because of Adams sin experienced a spiritual quickening and revolution (Col.2:13-15,John5:21, Eph 2:1-8) Man is restores back to the glory of God which crowned him with in the beginning (ie before sin came) and as he focus on Jesus the express image of Gods Person and Glory he will be restored back progressively to this glory (Col. 1:27, 2Cor.3:18) The new birth is brought about by two agents the Word (James 1:18, 1 Peter 1:23, Rom.10:8-10) and the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-8, Ps. 104:30). WATER BAPTISM Rom. 6:14, Matt.28:19, Mk. 16:16, Acts 2:38, Gal. 3:27. Water baptism is an outward sacrament of the regeneration person. It is the outward show or symbol of our conversion experience. It signifies repentance and confession; Jesus said it must be done to fulfill all righteousness. Baptism means to immerse or bury completely (in water) Baptism comes after one has believed (Mark 16:16). Jesus commanded it and instructed it should be done in the name of Father, Son and the Holy Ghost (Matt.28:19).
