This performance will be Auslan interpreted. A Streetcar Named Desire tells the story of Blanche Dubois, a Southern Belle whose pretensions to virtue and culture only thinly mask alcoholism and delusions of grandeur. Her poise is an illusion she presents to shield others (but most of all herself) from her reality, and an attempt to continue to make herself attractive to new male suitors. Blanches depressing and heartbreaking past leads her to her sister Stella, in a poor but charming apartment in the French Quarter of New Orleans. However, her destructive relationship with Stellas husband triggers a wave of emotions which aim to break her.
