Preach to the student-class

I am very, very pleased with your program
to infiltrate the schools and colleges,
especially by introducing our books and
classes in Krishna Yoga. I say one thing, if
you can somehow or other turn all of
these students and hippies, or even a
portion of them to Krishna
Consciousness, then this Movement will
sweep across the world and save it from
the present-day precarious condition when
everything has become so much degraded.
If many of their student class take up this
Movement, your country's government will
help, and if they help, there is immense
potency for spreading to all other places.
Now you push very cool-
headedly and tactfully on this program of
reaching and convincing the student-class
with our books and philosophy, and that will
be your success of life and for that Krishna
will very quickly reveal Himself to such
sincere worker face-to-face, you may know
it for certain.

From The Director’s Desk…

It is said that in youth one works
very hard to accumulate wealth and in old
age, he spends it all in curing the diseases.
There can be some other people who chase
after wealth, wine, women (WWW) in youth,
forgetting the ultimate goal of life. In the
name of technological development,
modern man is bent upon converting the
bad cottage into a skyscraper building
during his entire life but when he is dead
and gone, he doesn’t know where he is
going to go.
At our VOICE, whether it is meant
for the children, or the boys or girls or the
teenagers, the VOICE focuses on the most
important question in this world; the goal of
human life .Our motto is Rekindling Wisdom
and Reviving Love. On one hand the VOICE
expects its members to perform their
prescribed duties to family unto their college
or company and at the same time develop
the good character that is necessary for the
healthy body, mind and soul. For
accomplishing this, there are systematic
courses, seminars and camps that are
arranged. Anyhow the most essential
spiritual qualities that is within the heart of a
person namely humility, honesty,
truthfulness, integrity, etc. You will observe
that the BOYS’ VOICE, now the
CORPORATE VOICE, GIRLS’ VOICE,
CHILDRENS’ VOICE all of them are very
fastly developing and growing and many
suffering youngsters are looking for an
answer to the puzzle of life and they are
getting connected to our VOICEs centers
and becoming enlightened in the knowledge
of the ultimate absolute truth and it is not
that some political bookish knowledge that
students learn through this courses. Anyone
who practices of what they learn through
these courses will put the values in practice
in their lives; that is our second motto
reviving love and it can be very practically
observed by anyone who visits our centers
and meets our devotees. This is the mercy
and love from the supreme lord that is
coming down in the disciplic succession of
the Acharyas.
We are very happy to see the spirit of
preaching of all the VOICE mentors and we
hope to have more and more sincere and
dedicated mentors in the time to come so
that the mission of Lord Chaitanya
Mahaprabhu and Srila Prabhupada will be
propagated far and wide. This is a humble
beginning to keep informed all our members
about what are the different activities that
are going on in different branches of
VOICE. We would like to invite more and
more news and information that would be
very thrilling, inspiring, enlivening and giving
a boost to all the preachers in VOICE, so
feel free to write your activities that will help
in preaching Krishna consciousness to other
devotees.

Sankalpa 2006
One of the main programs organized
in this semester is the SANKALPA camp.
Almost 36 first year boys attended the
camp. 16 boys were from MAYAPUR
VOICE, 12 from Giri Govordhan VOICE
and 6 from Mathura VOICE.
Every body enthused by the dancing kirtans.

the presentations and lectures. This camp
was the most inspirational and joyful event
of this semester for all the participants. To
take proper care of these first year students
around 20 volunteers were serving the
participants whole day and night. We saw
the first year devotees being mesmerized by
the whole ambience in the temple, the most
beautiful and merciful darshan of Sri Sri
Radha Kunjabihari, Sri Sri Gaur Nitai,
sensational and thought provoking lecture
presentations by H G Caitanya Charan
Prabhu and H G Bala Govinda Prabhu,
vibrant and melodious kirtans by H G
Sundara Caitanya Prabhu, ecstatic
prasadam, and the warmth they all
perceived in the association of all the
devotees. At the end of the camp all of the
students were in such high spirits to start
their devotional service, they all promised to
chant regularly and be regular in programs.
And Sankalpa marked the outset for all the

First year devotees who were all very eager
to imbibe this Krishna Conscious lifestyle in
their own lives, spiritual life is not a sprint
but a marathon!

The mercy of Sri Sri Radhakunjabihari, Sri
Sri Gaur Nitai, and Srila Prabhupada is
spreading to another college. A new Voice
has been started near the Army Institute of
Technology, Pune. H G Keshavananda
Prabhu is preaching in the Voice assisted
by Bh. Amol Pawar. Morning program
started from mid September onwards for the
6 devotees who
were staying in the VOICE.MMC is also
taken in two groups of 3 each once a week
by Amol Prabhu. EBG sessions are being
conducted in Hostel. Some of these
devotees enthusiastically participated in this
semester’s SANKALPA camp.

Revival of COEP & COET college
preaching
The mercy of Sri Sri
Radhakunjabihari, Sri Sri Gaur Nitai, and
Srila Prabhupada the VOICE’s at the COEP
& COET colleges is beginning to manifest
once again.
COET preaching is revived
under the guidance and care of H G Bala
Govind Prabhu who himself graduated from
COET. H G Radheshyam Prabhu also gave
his valuable guidance and blessings. Vipul
Prabhu was the main incharge heading the
preaching in the college. Vipul Prabhu with
the help another devotee Shesh Prabhu
who is studying in the same college began
the preaching. Preaching began with Book
Distribution on 28th of august (Monday).
After two days of Book distribution they got
13 boys enrolled for DYS course. DYS
started in the same weekend. Some of boys
even attended VOICE meetings both in
Mayapur VOICE and also that of H G Jai

Gopal prabhu’s in the temple. Meditation
circle is also started for these boys. There
were efforts of many others also, involved in
manifestation of this VOICE.

COEP preaching is revived
due to the efforts H G Vibhava Krsna
Prabhu, Kuldeep Prabhu, Amit Goyal
Prabhu, Abhsihek Prabhu and Ankur Gupta
Prabhu. Here also the preaching started
with initial book distribution and students of
both first and second years were enrolled
for DYS course. The response of the first
years was comparatively better than the
second years. Now there are around 9
second year and 19 first year boys
enthusiastically participating in the
programs.

Shresta program: At the beginning of
the semester one time program for the
Shrestas of PICT and Bharati College of
Engineering students was conducted.17

was given by H G Caitanya Caran
Prabhu. Professor Chitode (post) and Mr.
Ajay Chandak (senior manager HR, Tech
Mahindra) were the chief Guests.

end of the program prizes were given to the
outstanding academic performers. The

whole program was conducted under the
guidance of H G Bala Govinda Prabhu and
H G Ram Priya Prabhu followed by
enormous effort of Jayesh prabhu,
Rajshekhar prabhu and other devotees. For
the shrestas H G Bala Govinda Prabhu
has taken DYS sessions and regularly
seven boys attended and right now all these
boys are chanting one round.
Utilization of Study Room Facility:
New boys are impressed by the study
facility. Around six students have shown the
interest of using the study facility during
their preparatory leaves.

VOICE MEETINGS NOURISHING ONE AND ALL
Around 220 young students from Pune
attended the weekly VOICE meeting at Sri
Sri Radha Kunjabihari Mandir. On 9th
September 2006 there was a lecture on the
topic “Is Spiritual Life, Escapism” by H.G
Caitanya Caran Prabhu.
H G Caitanya Caran Prabhu started by
explaining that all of us get very excited
seeing a rosy picture of life from media.
Owing to these illusory perceptions one
always remains hankering for newer and
newer things.
Positive thinking is most misunderstood:
Positive thinking is one of the most
misunderstood and misled words in
modern psychology. It does not mean
imaginative perception of reality. Reality
of this world is that it is a place a misery.
So an intelligent person should deal with
reality and not imagine something which
is not there.
Spiritual Practitioner is actually realistic:
A person who practices
spiritual life does not become pessimistic
rather he becomes realistic. This world is
‘dukhalyam’ and if we try to make it
‘sukhalayam’ we will make it ‘maha-
dukhalayam’. Imagining that there is no
suffering would be good if we don’t have an
alternative. Why then one has to trample
when the alternative is available.
What is Escapism:
“Escapism” means trying
to run away from reality. And

the material reality. Consider a person
comes home and sits in front of idiot box
and becomes an idiot. He forgets all his
problems for a brief period of time but he
cannot escape them. So forgetfulness of
problems does not mean no problems.

might be a possibility but suffering is a
certainty. Everyone has to go through birth,
old age, disease and death. The idea that
spiritual life is sign of weakness and
escapism comes from west.

How Indians lost there treasure of
spiritual practice:
When British invaded India
they found out they cannot rule because
they were largely outnumbered by Indians.
The only way they can rule is if they are
allowed to rule by Indians. And that will only
happen if Indians consider British better
than them, but it was not possible as all the
Indians who were following scriptures knew
that British were wine drinkers, meat eaters
and womanizers. British by adopting certain
practices destroyed the faith of Indians from
their religious scriptures and made them
believe that it is all mythology. So this idea
propagated that spiritual life is escapism.
Incompatibility in Nature of soul and the
world:
Spiritual life means to live in
harmony with spiritual reality that is; we are
eternal servants of Krsna. And being His
part and parcels we have to love and serve
him. Material world and material body is a
place of suffering. But the souls is longing
for everlasting happiness in this world. So
there is an intrinsic incompatibility.
Real Escapism:

Rajshekhar prabhu did his M.Tech in

Microelectronics and VLSI Design from
IIT Kharagpur He was the topper in his
Electronics Department. He was also
University topper during his B.Tech.
During his stay at Kharagpur. He was
introduced to KGP VOICE, through HG
Radheshyam prabhu’s program on “Art
of Mind Control”. He liked the
presentation and the devotee students
very much and decided to follow the
principles of KC. Very soon he started
staying in the VOICE and actively
involved in preaching and follow up of
M.Tech students of IIT KGP. He was
also involved in VOICE services like
Cleaning Dept, Yatra Management and
Health Dept in-charge. After passing out
from M.Tech with a PG degree is
Microelectronics and VLSI design he got
ample opportunities to work in MNC's
like Philips - Netherlands, Analog
Devices, National Semiconductor and
Texas Instruments. Also his M.Tech
research work was accepted by
University of London and University of
Washington. They invited him for
pursuing PhD.
Rajshekhar Prabhu strongly believed in
staying in the association of devotees
especially with the senior devotees of
Pune. As most of the work opportunities
related to his specialization are located
outside Pune ,so he took professor job
in SIT College of Engineering, Pune just
to stay with Pune devotees. After
coming to Pune he took the service of
organizing DYS course every
alternate week in the temple. Currently
he is serving as Acting Manager of
Mayapur VOICE. Recently, Rajshekhar
Prabhu has published an IEEE research
paper in International Conference on
Bh. Rajshekhar
Computers and Communication in
Malaysia. The research topic was “Low
Power Communication Transmitter and
Receiver” and he is also recognized as
distinguished author of IEEE.
Rajshekhar Prabhu says, “If anyone
wants to be happy and perfect his life
there is no substitute other than
practicing and preaching Krishna
Consciousness in the association of
devotees, which is a rare opportunity
one can get in this human form of life.”
We congratulate Rajshekhar prabhu for
his academic achievements and we are
very much inspired for his dedication in
preaching and serving the devotees.

Journeying To The Holy Places
Shrirangapatanam Yatra Report
As a causeless mercy upon all VOICE
Pune devotees residing in Bangalore, H G
Radheshyam prabhu decided to send two
preachers for holding a spiritual picnic in
outskirts of Bangalore city. According to
instructions, Bh Amarjit and Bh Prashant
went a week before scheduled date of yatra
to Shrirangapatanam for making pre-yatra
arrangements like lodge booking,
prasadam, etc.
On 8th September, HG Bala Govinda
pr and H G Revatipati prabhu arrived at
YOGA Bangalore and next day morning i.e.
on 9th September, devotees of YOGA and
RV College arrived in holy dham of
Shrirangapatanam. Shrirangapatanam is
very holy place having a big ancient temple
of Lord Ranganath. This dham is blessed by
auspicious stay of Shrila Ramanujacharya
during the period when he was away from
Sri Rangam due to the tyranny of the local
ruler.

After taking darshan of beautiful Lord, H G
Bala Govinda prabhu gave a wonderful
lecture on “Science of soul” just in outskirts
of the temple. After that all devotees left for
lodge which was on bank of sacred river
Kaveri. In the evening devotees took bath in
Kaveri and while performing Harinam
Sankirtan, went to nearby temple of Lord

Narasimhadev. There in temple premises
H G Bala Govinda prabhu enlightened all
devotees on “Glorious process of devotional
service”. In night H G Bala Govinda prabhu
did melodious shayan kirtan.
Sri Rangam Temple Gopurams
The prasadam was arranged from the
house of a pujari of Shri Ranganath temple.
Prasadam was typically South Indian and all
devotees relished it a lot.
Next day i.e. on 10th September
after chanting and mangal arati, H G Bala
Govinda pr delivered a very inspiring lecture
on “Chanting Holy Name”.
After a gap, all devotees assembled
in Shri Venugopal Krishna temple on the
banks of Kaveri. This temple has beautiful
deities of Lord Krishna, Shrimati Rukmini
and also of Shrila Ramanujacharya and
Shrila Nama Alwar. There HG Revatipati
Prabhu gave excellent class on “Description
of Spiritual World”. In the afternoon HG
Bala Govinda prabhu gave very inspiring
and intense seminar on “Developing
Vaishnav Relationships”. Before that,
devotees performed ecstatic Gurupuja and
dancing kirtans. After the class feedback
was taken about overall yatra.
In the evening a Harinam Sankirtan
was performed from temple of Shri
Ranganath to house of The Head Pujari of

the temple as an auspicious ending of yatra.
After that devotees took holy darshan of
beautiful Lord Ranganath and boarded the
train back to Bangalore.
The management of whole yatra
was done under expert guidance of Bh
Amarjit and all devotees both of YOGA and
RVC enthusiastically participated in all
programs of yatra and also performed
various services. Bh Amit was yatra service
manager. There were two devotees Bh
Manish and Bh Vishal appointed as service
incharges for YOGA and RVC respectively.
Bh Pradeep handled department of
Prasadam arrangement and serving
throughout Yatra and Bh Mohan Singh
Arora took care of accounts for entire yatra.
Yatra gave such boost to all
devotees to practice devotional service that
everybody is hankering to visit the dham
again.

Science discovers Vedic wisdom

Garlic--The Horror
The reason garlic is so toxic, the sulphone hydroxyl ion penetrates the blood brain barrier, just like
DMSO, and is a specific poison for higher life forms and brain cells.

So I funded a study at Stanford and, sure enough, they found that it's a poison. You can rub a clove
of garlic on your foot - on the sole of your foot - and you can smell it shortly later on your wrists. So
it penetrates the body. This is why DMSO smells a lot like garlic: that sulphone hydroxyl ion
penetrates all the barriers including the corpus callosum in the brain.

Any of you who are organic gardeners know that if you don't want to use DDT, garlic will kill
anything in the way of insects.

Now, most people have heard most of their lives that garlic is good for you, and we put those
people in the same class of ignorance as the mothers who at the turn of the century would buy
morphine sulphate in the drugstore and give it to their babies to put 'em to sleep.

If you have any patients who have low-grade headaches or attention deficit [disorder], they can't
quite focus on the computer in the afternoon, just do an experiment - you owe it to yourselves. Take
those people off garlic and see how much better they get, very,very shortly. And then let them eat a
little garlic after about three weeks. They'll say: "My God, I had no idea that this was the cause of
our problems." And this includes the de-skunked garlic's, Kyolic, some of the other products. Very
unpopular, but I've got to tell you the truth.

Bob Beck also found in his research on human brain function in the 1980's that garlic has a
detrimental effect on the brain and researching this further he learned that many yoga groups and
philosophical teachings caution against the use of garlic and onions as they are known to interfere
with meditation practices. Some aware individuals have actually described themselves as
experiencing brain fog after having garlic.
