world more dear to Me than he, nor will there ever be one more dear.' If one sincerely tries his best to
spread Kåñëa consciousness by preaching the glories of the Lord and His supremacy, even if he is
imperfectly educated, he becomes the dearmost servant of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is
bhakti. As one performs this service for humanity, without discrimination between friends and enemies, the
Lord becomes satisfied, and the mission of one's life is fulfilled." -Çrémad-Bhägavatam 7.6.24

read a book of Srila Prabhupad, along with our
intimate friend, and then share our thoughts in line
with the content of the book. Following this

Srestha---Pavankumar (IIT Kgp)
Pavan Kumar is the main active VOICE member at
IIT KGP. Since the early days he has been very
enthusiastic to render many wonderful services in
VOICE. He is the Overall Co-ordinator of
KrishnaGatipur VOICE.
He feels that the most amazing thing in his life was
his meeting with the devotees who taught him
Krishna Consciousness. The pioneers of KGP
Voice HG Revatipati pr, Ankur Gupta pr and other
devotees transformed his life and shaped it to be a
blissful experience which he has been sharing at IIT
KGP throughout these years. He has offered DYS
courses to the intelligentsia of IIT Kharagpur and
travels to NIT Jamshedpur to preach and render
services there. He was groomed in his KC by the
powerful association and lectures of H.G.
Radheshyam Pr, H.G.Vrajabasi
H.G.SriGurucharan Pr, H.G. Acharyaratna Pr and
many other devotees who would travel all the way
from the country’s west to east spending their
valuable time to give their guidance and help.
He hails from a South Indian middle class family.
He completed his schooling from Little Flowers,
Bangalore where he topped the ICSE exam. He did
his further studies and JEE preparation at Bangalore
to subsequently enter the premier institute of IIT
Kharagpur. He did his B.Tech in Manufacturing
Sciences and Engineering and always stayed as one
of the toppers. He is now currently pursuing his
master studies in Mechanical System Design in the
same institute. During his schooling he took part in
elocution contests, debates, extempore speeches,
quizzes, dramas and won prizes. He also got the
‘National Talent Search’ Scholarship award.
He has a message for all the VOICE devotees:

Saturday youth meeting (29th Sept)
HH Bhakti Vikas Swami Maharaj spoke on
“Original and the Counterfeit”.He explained that
throughout our life we are cheated by society,
modern advertising industry, people around us etc.
But still we feel happy and continue to be cheated
without working to get out of the real problems of
life namely birth, disease, old age and death. In this
material world everyone pretends to be happy and
then everyone is shocked when somebody commits
suicide, because everyone thought he was happy. It
is very easy to wake up the sleeping person but very
difficult to wake up someone who is pretending to
be asleep. Similarly we have a tendency to accept
the cheap in our life also, rather than giving up all
desires other than serving Krishna.

The second part of the seminar was about the
genuine, where he explained our existence,
happiness, distress, everything is dependent on
Krishna. Krishna consciousness is meant for
coming to the platform of understanding what is
actually real. Krishna is reality-the real hero and
without Him everything is zero- maya. Reality
cannot be understood by academic process, but by
change of heart and by understanding that, “I am
meant for serving and not for sense enjoyment”.
He stressed on the importance of association of
devotees, chanting of Hare Krishna mahamantra
and reading of sastra. Because the sastras are

genuine, they reveal what is good for us and the
process to achieve it. Answering to the question of a
student he said, ultimately we have to realize -Savai
pumsan paro dharma…, the service has to be
performed without any personal desires and only
for the satisfaction of guru and Krishna.
He told that happiness- the total, unobstructed
satisfaction of the soul can be obtained only in KC
and it comes by chanting Hare Krishna in the mood
of service and it is our choice to choose Krishna or
Maya.
He concluded by saying that there cannot be any
“Art of Living” in this material world, because it is
temporary and full of misery; the real art is in
preparing to go back to the spiritual world to serve
Krishna eternally.
