The Christ Life Reproduced:
This is what J esus meant when he
said: "It is expedient for you that I
go away: for if I go not away, the Com-
forter will not come unto yon.-'' How
infinitel;r 9n.ly Jesus could know,
"as to be t;h e life of Christ in t hem
tl1e li fe of Christ , V. ith them:
As wit h the -ai)ostles and early disci-
ples. so with ns todny, the P entecostal
life is thcreproclhction of Christ in our
life. Pnnl ' ' oicecl this truth when he
exclaimed, "To me to iive is Christ."
Not mer ely a marred reflection, as some
would be content with, but the very l!fe
. of Christ Himself. me to live, is
Christ.''
The Pentecostal life begins in a
'cifixion: a- death; then a resurrectiorl;
in the which we are able to truly say,
"I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in
me.'' It is not. the old life-'' old things
have passed away, and behold, all things
have become new."
No selfishness now, for Jesus ''pleased
not himself,'' and Christ in us seeks not
his own. No stirring of for
Jesus, "when r eviied,. reviled not
again, '' -and Christ in us '' suffereth lmi g
and is kind." No seeking for honor in
the Pentecostal life, for Jesus "humbled
b:e-came to death,"
and Christ _in us ''took the form of a
servant. " No r ebellimi theze against
'
God's way. Jesus said, "1\Iy meat is to
do the will of that sent me,'' and
Christ in us joyfully cries: . "Not my
will, but thine . be done.' ' . No room for
rebellious in this Pentecostal
life. J esus came the Prince of Peace,
and Christ in us puts forth a hand to
heal what anger would have destroyed .
No shrinking cowardice now, for Je-
, sus "endm:.ed the cr.oss, despising the
shame,'' and Christ in us has gained. the ..
"victory. that overcometh -tht
The Pentecostal life is the Christ-life :
lminble, helpful, t ender, self-sacrificing,
enduring, restful, active in ministry,

Life in the White Light.
The Pentecostal life"'' is life in the

In the world and ()f the world, sin
may escape detection-at least for a
time, hut no.t so in this Pentecostal life
and holiness movement ; God will not
allow sin to shelter here. To the un-
thinking, God's way of exposing sin
when it gets in among His holy people;
. would give the thought thatt;bey, above
all . others, were unclean. Not so ! A
thousand times no! God if? very jealous
of His holy way and will bring to light,
and that speedily, all taint . of unclean-
ness, that the way be undefiled.
A Separated lajfe;
The Pentecostal life is the devoted
.life, the the abandoned life.
It is utterly unlike. the world life, that
there is no harmony between theni.
The P entecostal life finds its joy hi
tho'se things which are unattractive to
the world, anq the excitement and
pleasures of. the world are as dust and
ashes. The Pentecostal life is not only
separated from all .forms of sin, but al-
. so that it might . better glorify God, it
' resigns an thmgs which have an ap-
pearance of evil;. and lays aside much
that of' itself might be good. It is so
abandoned to God that, like. Jesus, it
goes a bout doing good. It goes out of
the way to do a helpful act that others
would not think of doing. The great
apostle said of those in this w_ay,
''.A peculiar people, zealous of good
works. ' '
The Victorious Life.
The Pentecostal life is the victorious
Having a fuller, clearer knowl-
edge of the enemy, it fears to meet him
in its own strength, and hiding under
the feathers of the God over-
Comes .the. evil one in every attack.
Walking within the will of God, places
of danger are escaped. Having
ceived the Holy. Ghost, ' ' greater is He

. Having Christ within, the
life has the spirit of Christ,
as it is written, "we having the same
spirl.t of faith.'' "This is the victory
that overcometh . the world, everi our

their way to the bosom of i,nfinite love.
The evening ewangelistic service was
in charge <Of Bro. Goodwin, who spoke
fr9m Rom. 1 :28, ''Knowledge of N a-

main points in the sermon, as follows :
1st.. The most self-evident fact in
nature is God. 2d. Knowledge of na-
ture's God a possibility. 3d. This
knowledge attained and retained is voli-
tional. 4th. The condition ''(;f the soul,
having lost this knowledge. The last
picture was God's effort in making
Himself known to the soul. There were
five seekers at the altar. Three came

KEEP CLOSE TO MOTHER.
Have you, ever. tltgppec;I. to think that
the ;najority of boys who succeed are
the ones who honor their mother?
Sometimes boys get to the place
where they are dissatisfied with the re-
straints of the home-life, and are anx-
ious to cut loose from horne influences i
and strike out to be men for them-
selves. Boys are afraid, you know, of
being "tied to their . mother's apron-
strings." But the boy who listens to
his mother rarely goes wrong, rarely
lands in jail, occupying a felon's . cell.-

BE COURTEOUS.
The habit of treating those who are-
nearest and dearest to us with discourt-

we shall do well. No home can be hap-

possible for .
to possess a beautiful face, all may have
a J rue one, for it is nearly always the
index of the hidden life. If the soul
within is true and pure, .the face will re-
veal the ..fact. The sweet inner grace
will flash 6ut of the eye, or be stamped
upon the meek, quiet face, in a way not
to be misunde.rstood. Like the great
sun at noonday that so plainly reveals
its light and beauty, the true soul shines .
out upon the face and makes it bright
and lovely. A trne face is more desir-
able than a "handsome" one, is r eally
more full of beauty, and l eaves a deeper
impression UP.On others. It wins its
way as it shines for the Master . The
:world has keen eyes and is quick to dis-
cern the true from the false.
Seek, then, to carry a trlie face. L.et

: RIGHT COMPANIONS.
. The girl whom we a"nd honor
is very careful in her choice of friends.
She selects those whose presence
strengthens her socially as well -as mor-
ally. She is kin.d to all, but her f,riends
are the earnest, noble-hearted young
men and women. She always gives a
kind word to the erring one and strives
to help those who have fallen, back to
the better vath. One word from the
lips of a girl may be of great import-
ance. It may influence for good or evil.
Let it be for good, girls. Let us -drink
in the sweets of girlhood. Let us cher-
ish its purity. Let us have our
words and actions accompanied by the
thought, ''Thou Goc;l_ seest me.'' And
let us have for our daily prayer : "Let
the words of my mouth and the medi-
tations of my heart be accf)ptable in
Thy sight, 0 Lord, my strength and my
redeemer."

AS IF THE LAST.
See to it that we live each day as
though it was the last day accorded us
to show how we love the dear ones at
home. Fill it full of beautiful service
and tender homage. Let no rude speech
.stril_{e discord through it, no frown
darken it, no injustice mar it; sweeten
the bitter cup of death for us when the
white-robed angel holds it to our :trem-
bling lips.-Selected.
