by adjusting screw (4). To adjust the chain, loosen the nuts on support bolt and adjusting screw and turn adjusting screw until drive chain deflection is %-inch, measured midway between sprockets. On Diablo Rouge, refer to Fig. 4. Drive chain is adjusted by moving idler roller (4) into closer contact with drive chain (3), and adjustment cannot be directly measured. To make the adjustment, loosen locking nut (12) and slide axle bolt inward in slot until slack is removed.
Some early models are equipped with a shoe and lever type brake which uses the back face of driven sheave fixed flange as a friction surface. Shoe brakes are not adjustable.
LUBRICATION
The engine is lubricated by oil mixed with the fuel. Models 500, 502 and 503 Diablo Rouge are equipped with a chain case which must be filled to level of plug hole (PFig. 4) with SAE lOW Motor Oil. On all other models, the main drive chain is in the open and should be lubricated occasionally with a few drops of light oil. On models with open drive chain, it is recommended that when vehicle is stored the chain be removed, washed in kerosene or other suitable solvent, and stored separately by submerging in oil in a covered pan. Track and drive bearings are sealed type and do not require lubrication.
TRACK. Track adjustment is made at front on Diablo Rouge and at rear on other models. Both sides must be adjusted exactly alike, with some slack but not enough that track can easily be pushed upward into contact with deck pan. If track rubs side of drive or idler sprockets while in operation, tighten the opposite adBRAKE.
