Solar Benefits
Pure Bottom Line in most markets
with incentives, solar is cash flow positive, provides tax benefits, and yields a good return (typical ROI of 15-20%).

Net Metering
In some cases, solar electric systems produce more energy than is being consumed this net energy produced is typically put back on the grid. Net metering allows you to get a credit on your electric bill for this energy. The net metering law in Missouri requires investor owned utilities to give consumers the full retail value for any solar power generated, up to 100% of total use on the month, for systems up to 100 kW in capacity.
- 30% ITC
- Utility Rebate
Accelerated Depreciation
Businesses can take a tax deduction utilizing the Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (MACRS) which offers a 5-year depreciation schedule. Along with the incentives above, the depreciation results in most commercial solar projects having a payback of less than 5 years.
Sale of SRECs
Whenever clean energy is produced, it results in a value for the energy itself, but also a value assigned to the associated carbon emission reduction. This green attribute can be quantified and sold to others as a credit. A Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) represents 1 Megawatt hour of solar energy produced. The value of an SREC changes over time; Microgrid will include the most recent values as part of your proposal.
