Weekly Outline:
Activity session subject : Locations - Country and Town Vocabulary: Activities / songs / games: 1 1 Activities town/ country This week we are finally going to paint our Vehicles: bus, car, taxi, train, tractor paper mach masks. We are going to make them into any of the animals we have learned Buildings: library, school, bank, supermarket, so far. barn, hen-house We are also going to make a egg baskets, to Things: mailbox, traffic light, street "collect" eggs in. Natural products: milk, corn, wheat, bread, We are going to match different items into apple, eggs, meat their different locations Processed products: cheese, butter, wool We are also going to see what animal or Animals: cow, sheep, horse, chicken, goat, pig, vegetables gives us the products we can buy in duck, goose a supermarket. A wordsearch with all the different buildings Grammar: in town is also part of work this week. Use sentences to describe where certain items are from, example: "Where does milk come from?" 1 1 Songs "Milk is from a cow". We are going to learn the song "the wheels on the bus", which you can also find on You Try using full sentences, like "a pig gives meat", Tube at: http://m.youtube.com/#/watch? instead of just "pig, meat". v=JfwqSXmJ-mE We are also going to learn the song for "country mouse", which is filled with actions for the students to dance too. Lastly we are going to learn "Old McDonald" 1 1 Games We are going to play a version of 'Simon says'. Where the students should act the word given in a way they feel describes the word. Example: with "Library" the students can make a reading motion. Phonics Our phonics is getting really good and I am proud about with their development. This week we will continue to read and practise our sightwords (on, in, me, you, a, the, and, my, is, one). We are going to use these words to read sentences and to realise the sentences have meanings. We are also going to continue our writing classes (an example of how it should look like, will be sent to you). This week we are going to practise our 'b,d' letters. We are also starting the 'am' sound family words (ram, ham, yam, jam) and our 'ag' sound family words (bag, tag, rag, wag).

Review We will review greetings this week and remember to add where we live and come from. We are also going to review the baby animals of the farm animals we have done the past week. Phonics Review We are going to review the 'ap' family sound words and the sightwords we have done so far. Notes / parent follow up: In week 6 we are going to make a tree together as a class, please choose any 2 leaves, and put them in a thick book like a dictionary to dry. To be safe if you are scared of tree sap getting on the pages, put tissue paper between the pages and the leaves. It can be very helpful for your child if you practise the phonics sounds and the words we have done with your child at home. This past three weeks we have done 'an, at, ap' famiky sounds (can, van, fan, man, pan, cat, rat, bat, fat, mat, hat, map, nap, cap, tap, sap). Also, please encourage 5our child to start writing his or her name in lowercase letters and. Ot just capital letter, example: Sunny instead of SUNNY.
