New resources
http://www.ibo.org/ibap/ gives you access to a new resource on the IB Asia Pacific website which is
designed to assist you in your strategic planning for IB professional development. In the right hand
column on the website you will find "PD: Unpacking the Standards and Practices". Here you can
download a document that will unpack the IB Standards and Practices in regard to professional
development. It also contains links to related resources documenting the range of IB-approved, IB-
related and non-IB PD activities available to help your school meet its specific professional
development needs. We hope these resources will help you in your professional development
planning. Ed Lawless, Professional Development Officer, IBAP

IB School librarians workshop in Singapore March 2009

For those of you working with the PYP, MYP, DP or interested in doing so....
The IBO have announced a PILOT workshop to be held in Singapore in March 2009.
http://ibo.org/events/libsing01/
You need to register to indicate to the IBO that School librarians need and want training in working
with this dynamic curriculum, and to give us a more visible 'official' role.

There are only 60 places available for this conference in Singapore, but if there is enough interest
they will conduct workshops in other regions/countries. So register your interest as soon as you can.
Talking about advocacy...here is your chance to make a difference to your own profession.

Best wishes
For Christmas, other festivals, holidays and the next quarter.
