SECTION 2 HEALTH HAZARDOUS INFORMATION (CONTINUED)

FIRST AID SWALLOWED : Never give anything by mouth if victim is rapidly losing consciousness, or is unconscious or convulsing. Do Not induce vomiting. Have victim drink 240 to 300 mL ( 8 to 10 oz.) of water to dilute material in stomach. Obtain medical attention immediately. EYE : Immediately flush the contaminated eye(s) with lukewarm gently flowing water for 20 minutes by the clock, holding the eyelid(s) open. If irritation persists , repeat flushing . Obtain medical attention immediately. SKIN : Remove contaminated clothing, shoes and leather goods ( e.g. watchbands, belts). As quickly as possible, flush contaminated area with lukewarm, gently running water for at least 20 minutes, by the clock. Obtain medical attention if irritation occurs. Completely decontaminate clothing, shoes and leather goods before re-use or discard. INHALED: Remove source of contamination or move victim to fresh air. If breathing has stopped, trained personnel should begin artificial respiration or, if the heart has stopped, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) immediately . Obtain medical attention immediately. FIRST AID FACILITIES : Provide general supportive measures ( comfort, warmth, rest). All first aid procedures should be periodically reviewed by a physician familiar with the material and its condition of use in the workplace. ADVICE TO DOCTOR: Consult Poisons Information centre. TOXICITY DATA : Animal toxicity data LD50 ( oral, rat) : 1650 mg/kg irritation ( eye, rabbit) : 500 mg/24 hours; severe effects Ammonium chloride injected intravenously in rats caused rapid breathing, muscle spasms, convulsions, coma and in some cases, death. Survivors recovered completely(1). Ingestion : May cause nausea and vomiting animals. No Data in IDENTIFICATION means data not applicable in this field. In all other fields, it means not available

SECTION 3 PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

EXPOSURE STANDARDS : (TLV-TWA) Ammonium chloride fume 10 mg/m3 worksafe Aust SHORT-TERM EXP. LIMIT (TLV-STEL) Ammonium fume 20 mg/m3 Sampling & Analysis published methods for sampling/analysis of airborne ammonium chloride are not currently available. Exposure Control Note : Exposure to this material can be controlled in many ways. The measures appropriate for a particular worksite depend on how this material is used and on the extent of exposure. Use this general information to help develop specific control measures. Ensure that control systems are properly designed and maintained. Comply with occupational environmental, fire and other applicable regulations. ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Engineering control methods to reduce hazardous exposures are preferred. Methods include mechanical ventilation ( dilution and local exhaust), process or personnel enclosure, control of process conditions and process or personal protective equipment may also be required. Use a corrosion resistant ventilation system separate from other exhaust ventilation systems. Exhaust directly to the outside . Use local exhaust ventilation to control airborne dust and fume . Supply sufficient replacement air to make up for air remove by exhaust systems. PERSONAL PROTECTION :. Respiratory Protection : If engineering controls and work practices are not effective in controlling exposure to this material, then wear suitable personal protective equipment including approved respiratory protection . Have appropriate equipment available for use in emergencies such as spills or fire. If respiratory protection is required institute a complete respiratory protection program including selection, fit testing , training , maintenance and inspection. Respiratory Protect: Guidelines No specific guidelines are available. Contact supplier / manufacturer for advice. Eye / Face Protection : Chemical safety goggles . A face shield may also be necessary. Skin Protection : Impervious gloves, coveralls, boots and/or other resistant protective clothing . Have a safety shower/eyewash fountain readily available in the immediate work area. Resists. For Protective Clothing ( Guidelines for inorganic salts ). Good: Butyl rubber , natural rubber, neoprene, nitrile/polyvinyl (PVC), polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride, chlorinated polyethylene NOTE: Resistance of specific materials can vary from product to product. Evaluate resistance under conditions of use and maintain clothing carefully.

Personal Protection Comments : Do not eat, drink or smoke in work areas. Wash hands thoroughly after this material. Maintain good housekeeping. FLAMMABILITY : Non combustible material. ENVIRONMENT : No Data

No Data in IDENTIFICATION means data not applicable in this field. In all other fields, it means not available

SECTION 4 SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT Storage condition: Store in a dry location at room temperature. Store away from heat and ignition sources. Keep separate from acids, alkalis and silver salts. Store in suitable, labelled containers. Keep containers tightly closed when not in use and when empty. Protect from damage. Handling : Avoid generating fumes or dusts. Do not use near welding operations, flames, or hot surfaces. Label containers . Keep containers closed when not in use. Empty containers may contain residues which are hazardous. SPILLS AND DISPOSAL : Precaution: Restrict access to area until completion of cleanup. Ensure cleanup is conducted by trained personnel only. Wear adequate personal protective equipment. Extinguish or remove all ignition sources. Cleanup: Do not touch spilled material. Prevent material from entering sewers or confined spaces. Shovel into clean, dry, labelled containers and cover. Flush area with water. Disposal : Review federal, state and local government requirements prior to disposal. Store material for disposal as indicated in Storage conditions. Disposal by secure landfill may be acceptable. FIRE / EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Explosion data- sensitivity to mechanical impact: Not sensitive. Stable material Explosion Data-sensitivity to static charge: Not applicable Fire extinguisher agents: Use extinguisher appropriate for the surrounding fire. Fire fighting procedures : Water spray can be used to control fumes and irritant gases. Ammonium chlorides decomposes when heated. Combustion product: Ammonia and hydrochloric acid. Reactivity Data : Stability : stable Incompatibility materials to avoid strong acids may evolve hydrogen chloride gas. Strong bases may evolve ammonia gas. Strong oxidant (e.g. interhalogens, chlorates) . Interhalogens (e.g. bromine trifluoride and bromine pentafluoride) may cause violent reaction and explosion. Potassium Chlorate addition of ammonium chloride to potassium chlorate can cause a violent explosion. Silver salts may form unstable silver compound. Hazardous Polymerization will not occur Corrosivity to metals corrodes most metals at fire temperatures
