Learning Outcomes

: a) State that water can change its state based on power point b) Conclude that water can exist in any of the three states of matter based on video clips c) Identify the processes involved when a matter changes from one state to another based on activity given

Orientation

1. Teacher shows an ice cream to the pupils. 2. Teacher put that ice cream on the table / under the sun for few minutes. 3. Teacher asks some questions based on that scene. Questions : 1. What the states of ice cream? Solid 2. How the ice creams look like? It is has its own shape. 3. What happen to that ice cream once put it on the table? It is will melt. 4. Teacher introduces today topic and starts the lesson. 1. Teacher asks the pupils the meaning of term boiling, melting, evaporation, condensation and freezing. 2. Pupils discuss the term of those words in groups. 3. Teacher pastes some pictures on the whiteboard. 4. Pupils paste the correct term word card below the pictures. 5. Teacher sees the pupils answers. Pictures : a) Puddles on the road. Evaporation b) The melting ice cube Melting c) The boiling water in kettle Boiling d) Water droplets around the glass

Teacher shows some the real things which is describe and shown those process. 3. Teacher do the demonstration of the water can exists in three states activity. Heat the ice cubes activity 4. Teacher gives a worksheet to each group and asks them to do it in groups. 1. Teacher asks quiz to each groups. Quiz a) Dew drop lost from the surface of a leaf. b) Breathing air onto a cool mirror. c) Ice cream melting at room temperature. d) Clothes dry on hot days. e) A container is filled with ice cubes and closed tightly. f) A chocolate bar becoming soft under the hot sun. g) An egg yolk becoming solid when fried. h) When a person wearing spectacles comes out of an air-conditioned car on a hot day, he finds droplets of water on the lenses of his spectacles. i) The steam that appears on the surface of the coffee. 1.
