Typical Scenarios of Mozy Usage

Subscribing to the MozyPro Service and Setting up the Account
MozyPro for Desktop or Server is listed in the Upware Marketplace. After a customer selects that package they want in the Marketplace, they can checkout and pay for the service using the Marketplace shopping cart. Once the order is successfully completed the Marketplace: 1. Automatically creates the new business account in the Mozy system, using the Account Owners email to create the root admin user. 2. Provisions and assigns the amount of storage purchased to the new account. 3. Automatically creates a new end user using the Account Owners email address, assigns the first license key to the user, and assigns 2GB of storage space to the license key. At this point the Account Owner should do the following to install the Mozy client and start backing up files from their own computer: 1. Login to the Marketplace. 2. Click on the MyApps tab. 3. Hover over the Mozy icon until the management options appear. 4. Choose Manage on Mozy. 5. When the Mozy Admin Console opens click on Users > Search / List Users. 6. In the list of users, click on the email address for the user. 7. This will display the license key needed to activate the client on the users machine. 8. Highlight the license key and then press CTRL-C (Windows) or COMMAND-C (Mac) to copy the license key. 9. Click on Resources > Download MozyPro Client. 10. Click on the appropriate link to download either the Mac or Windows client installer to the computer to be backed up. 11. Run the installer and when prompted, paste (CTRL-V for Windows or COMMAND-V for Mac) the license key into the client UI. NOTE: The default storage amount can only be changed after the user has installed the client on their computer. See the section on increasing quota for more details.

Assigning MozyPro to a User

Once the customer has purchased the service they can assign the Mozy service to existing users in their account. NOTE: Before the Comcast account owner can assign MozyPro to one of their users they must create the user in their main Comcast Business account. Users created there will show up in the Marketplace automatically. Assuming the Account Owner has created the user(s), complete these steps to assign MozyPro to a user:

Click on MyApps. Hover the mouse over the Mozy icon. When the management options appear, click on Assign Users. In the Apps column, select the MozyPro Online Backup entry. In the Assign Users column, check the box next to the user you want assign to MozyPro. When you are done assigning MozyPro to end users, click the Save Changes button on the right side of the screen.

Once the Save Changes button is clicked, the Marketplace automatically creates the user(s) in the Mozy system and assigns each user a license key and 2GB of storage. The end user will receive two emails from the Marketplace. One informs them that the Account Owner has given them access to MozyPro. The second one includes links to the both the Mac and Windows client installers and a copy of the users MozyPro license key. At this point the user should download and run the appropriate installer. During the installation process the user will be prompted to enter the license key they received, which they can cut and paste from the email. NOTE: The default storage amount can only be changed after the user has installed the client on their computer. See the section on increasing quota for more details.

Increasing a Users Quota

By default all users are given 2GB of quota when they are given access to the MozyPro service. To increase the quota the user must first install and activate the client on their computer. Once that is done the Account Owner can complete the following steps to increase the quota: Login to the Marketplace. Click on Account. Click on Applications. Find Mozy in the list of Manage Apps. Click on the Manage on Mozy link. Once the Mozy Admin Console opens, click on Users > Search / List Users. Click on the users email address in the User column. When the user details are displayed, find the list of computers and in the Storage Used column click the change link. Enter the new storage quota amount for the user. Click the Save button. The next time the users client runs a backup the quota amount will be updated in the MozyPro backup client.

Adding Additional Licenses

Currently all MozyPro offerings include unlimited licenses, so there is no need to buy additional licenses.

Upgrading Quota in the Account

If the overall quota limit is reached for the account, the Account Owner can login to their Marketplace account to purchase additional storage. This is done by going to: Account > Applications. Find the Mozy application. Click on the Update Edition link. Select the new edition and complete the checkout process. Once checkout is completed the new storage quota will be added to the existing account and the Account Owner can then create new users to assign the storage to or assign the new storage to existing users.

Downgrading
To downgrade the storage in their account the customer must first have enough unassigned quota available to be removed from their account. Once that prerequisite is met, then they can use the AppDirect Marketplace to select a smaller package and when they complete the order in AppDirect, the requisite amount of quota will be removed from their account.

Deleting a User
Customers that have purchased Mozy through the AppDirect portal have two options for deleting a user. They can delete them from just the Mozy service or they can remove them from AppDirect and all applications they have been assigned through the AppDirect Marketplace. To remove the Mozy service, but leave the user in the Marketplace portal, the account owner would log in to the Marketplace and: Click on Account > Users. In the Apps column, click the Assign Apps link in the row of the appropriate user. In the Assign Apps column, uncheck the box next to the MozyPro product. Click on Save Changes. This will remove the Mozy service from the user in the Marketplace and also delete that users account in the Mozy service simultaneously. There is no way to undelete a user in the Mozy service. To remove the user from the Mozy service as well as the Marketplace, the account owner would first have to un-assign all their assigned apps and then delete the user. User deletion occurs in the Comcast Business portal.

Launching the Admin Console

There are additional features that can only be done using the Mozy Admin Console. To access this the Account Owner can log in to their Marketplace account and click on the MyApps tab. This will list all the applications they have purchased in the Marketplace. Hovering on the MozyPro icon will display the manage options. Select the Manage on Mozy link to access the Mozy Admin Console. Full documentation on the Admin Console is available on the Mozy website: http://docs.mozy.com/docs/en/admin-pro-win
