[edit] Production and development

This section requires expansion. Iginio Straffi first wished to create a cartoon for boys and girls in 2000, when children's programming was "dominated" by boy-oriented shows. He wished to create a show aimed mainly at girls like Sailor Moon or My Little Pony.[2]

[edit] Plot
[edit] First season
Main article: Winx Club (season one) A supposedly ordinary girl from planet Earth, Bloom lives a perfectly normal life in the city of Gardenia until she meets Stella, a princess from the planet Solaria, who is in trouble. Coming to Stella's aid, Bloom discovers her magical powers. Stella persuades Bloom to join Alfea, the best fairy school in all the realms. She agrees and leaves Gardenia and her parents. She brings her pet bunny Kiko, to remind her of her old home. In Alfea, Bloom forms the Winx, whose members are her four friends and roommates: Stella, Musa, Tecna , and Flora. Later in the series they encounter and befriend the Specialists: Brandon, Riven, Timmy, and Sky. The Specialists will also become their love interests. They will also encounter their enemies, a trio of witches named the Trix: Icy, Darcy, and Stormy. They are witches from Cloudtower, a witch school roughly equivalent to Alfea, and are in search of the power of the Dragon's Flame which is supposedly in Stella's magic ring. Their ruthless pursuit of the ring leads to many encounters and battles with Winx. Bloom also begins to learn the secrets of her planet, real parents, and powers.

[edit] Second season

Main article: Winx Club (season two) After their summer vacation, the Winx returns to Alfea to begin their second year. They meet a new fairy, Layla, who asks for their help in rescuing her pixie friends held hostage by Lord Darkar. Lord Darkar wants to find out where the Pixies' Village is in order to steal the four pieces of the Codex (one each in Pixie Village, Redfountain, Cloudtower, and Alfea) which open the portal to the Realm of Realix, where the Ultimate Power can be found. The Trix also met Lord Darkar and served him. They seemed to have developed an obsession with him, wanting to please him as Icy stated she wanted to be his main witch. Meanwhile, the Winx learn how to get their Charmix. Lord Darkar is actually the "Shadow Phoenix" who wants to take control of the magical realm. In the meantime, there is a new teacher who after Alfea lessons turns Bloom into Dark Bloom and sends Bloom to Lord Darkar. During Episode 24, he turns Bloom into his servant, thus making her open the realm of Realix. Later on however, Sky expresses his true feelings to Bloom then she uses her healing powers to heal everyone. After the battle, Bloom and the others go back to Alfea and celebrate. Layla also joins Winx while Stella has a big fashion deal going on.

[edit] Third season

Main article: Winx Club (season three) Previously banished to the Omega Dimension, the Trix are able to escape with Valtor,[nb 1] a sorcerer partially responsible for the destruction of Bloom's home realm, Domino.[nb 2] They choose to cooperate and plan to invade several areas in the realm of Magix and seek vengeance on those who imprisoned them, by stealing the magic treasures and power sources of each realm. The Winx begin their third year in Alfea , learning about their unique Enchantix transformations, acquired by sacrifing themselves for someone from their own world. In this season Mirta transforms into a fairy and helps defend Alfea.

[edit] Fourth season

Main article: Winx Club (season four)

The fourth season of the Winx Club debuted on April 15, 2009[3] in Italy. The winx club continues their personal development by establishing themselves in Gardenia to earn the new Beleivix transformation by convincing the skeptical population to believe in magic. The Winx club also discovers there another fairy residing on Earth and in danger from the evil plans of the wizards of the black circle. In the United States, no announcement has been made (as of June 2010) by 4Kids TV to include the new season to Saturday morning lineup. However, on March 1, 2010 in Australia, where the edited version made by 4Kids was previously shown on Network Ten's Toasted TV and on Cartoon Network, the English version of fourth season made by Cinlume premiered on Boomerang, a sister channel of Cartoon Network.

[edit] Winx

The Winx, in their original forms, and Pixies. Top row, from left to right: Amore, Stella, Tecna and Digit. Second row, from left to right: Lockette, Bloom, Flora and Chatta. Bottom row, from left to right: Piff, Layla, Musa and Tune. Magical pets and Roxy are not present here, as this picture is a promotional illustration for the second season. The Winx is a group of fairies formed by Bloom in the beginning of the first season. Initially, it was a group of five fairies: Bloom, Stella, Flora, Musa and Tecna. Layla joined the group in the second season after some conflict with Lord Darkar. The pixies have "bonded" with the fairies in the second season, and all the Winx fairies got their magical pets in the fourth season. Within the series the word "Winx", in the original version, as

Bloom suggests, it has no meaning, although it is not in the edits made by 4Kids Entertainment, where it had a meaning of the magical power that fairies have.

Bloom: She discovered her dormant magical powers after coming to the aid of another fairy, Stella. Strong and caring, she is always available to help her friends. Shortly after arriving at Alfea, she discovers that her powers of fire come from the ancient Dragon's Flame. She is the princess and survivor of the planet Domino,[nb 2] her birthplace. She owns a blueish bunny named Kiko. Her pixie is Lockette, the pixie of mazes and portals. Her magical pet is Belle, a green and white sheep. She is Sky's fiance. Bloom is the leader of the Winx and the main character of the series. Stella: She is a talkative and "girly girl." She tends to be spontaneous and dislikes extensive planning, but she is able to recognize when her help is needed. Stella is also infamous amongst the Alfea houses for blowing up a laboratory and being kept back a grade; thus, she is a year older than all the other Winx fairies. She has the power of the sun and the moon because her mother represents the moon and her father represents the sun. She is the princess of the planet Solaria, her birthplace. Her mother and father are divorced, and she wishes they would get back together again, as that is revealed in season 3. Her pixie is Amore, the pixie of love. Her magical pet is Ginger, a white poodle. She is Brandon's fiance. Flora: Flora is a very kind-hearted and sensitive girl with a passion for nature and life. Happy and intelligent, she is always a sweet, loyal friend and doesn't believe in hurting others or the environment. She is extremely fond of plants and nature and her room consequently resembles a greenhouse. She has the power of nature, which allows her to use plants in her attacks and natural predators to exterminate pests. She comes from the planet Linphea.[nb 3] Her pixie is Chatta, the pixie of gossip. In the third season, it is revealed that Flora has a younger sister named Miele.[nb 4] Her magical pet is Coco, a pink cat. She is Helia's girlfriend. Musa: Musa loves all forms of music. Although she tries to put up a tough front to isolate herself and is often pessimistic, she is a loyal and caring friend. Musa has the best grades of the entire Winx fairies (including Tecna). She is a bit of a tomboy but can be girly at many times. She is pale and has an Asian in appearance, with blue-black pigtails and blue eyes. She has the power of music, and she gets her energy from all kinds of music. She comes from the planet Melody[nb 5] so she grew with music all around her. Her first magic that she used was her flute. Her mother was a great singer and her father a great pianist. Her pixie is Tune, the pixie of manners, who often gets on Musa's nerves since they are almost the exact opposite of each other in terms of personalities. Her magical pet is Pepe, a brown bear. She is Riven's girlfriend. Tecna: Tecna is always logical and rational, and initially had trouble expressing her emotions. She speaks in a technical and a matter-of-fact manner. She is extremely intelligent and strong in technology and mathematics and enjoys playing video games and dismantling stuff. She can act cold and rational at times, but always tries to do the right thing. She has the power of technology and can control everything provided by technology. She comes from the planet Zenith.[nb 6] Her pixie is Digit, the pixie of technology. Her magical pet is Chicko, a yellow duck. She is Timmy's girlfriend. Layla[nb 7]: Layla is the Princess of the planet Andros.[nb 8] She has a restless, rebellious and wild nature. Layla is a good athlete, fighter, dancer and wind-raider rider. She is also a feminist and thus opposes Riven, a chauvinist. She has the power of fluids and is able to manipulate a pink fluid called "Morphix" to take on any form she chooses. She joins Winx in the second season and brings her pixie friends along with her. Her pixie is Piff, the pixie of sweet dreams, who quite frequently helps her with her troubling nightmares. Her magical pet is Milly, a white rabbit. She was Nabu's fiance, but he died in Episode 24 of Season 4.

[edit] The Trix

Main article: The Trix The Trix are an evil trio of teenage witch sisters who attended the Cloudtower (only in the first season, after which they got expelled), a school which used to rival Alfea. They are the enemies of Winx. They were arrested in the end of the first season after an attempt to invading Alfea was failed, but escaped with the help of Lord Darkar in the beginning of the second season. In the third season, they worked with Valtor, but in the end, were arrested again. The Trix did not appear in the fourth season.

Icy: The leader and eldest of the trio, her name refers to her powers of ice. She is quite charismatic. She despises Stella and is most competitive with her in the first season. In the second she is more spiteful towards Bloom. She is the most powerful of the three and she is the most beautiful. She has long, white hair tied up high on her head. She wears light blue top, a light blue skirt and light blue boots as her normal outfit, but for Cloudtower, her uniform is a dark blue thick mini dress with thin long sleeves and a chocker resembling an I and dark blue pants and boots, with the change of her make-up color as well. In comparison to her sisters she is less aggressive than Stormy and a little lighter than Darcy; she has a proper balance of her power. She's an enemy to Bloom and Stella. Darcy: Darcy works with all forms of darkness, as her name suggests ("Darcy" meaning "Dark One"). She is the smartest of the Trix. She enjoys tormenting "pathetic pixies". In the first season, she is aggressive towards Musa because Musa loved Riven, who was on Darcy's "wanted as boyfriend" list in the first season. She has long, dark brown hair. She wears purple and interacts with boys more than all of her other sisters. In the first season, she used Riven to help defeat the Winx and later, abandoned him. Therefore, she plays a very important role in the first season. She is less aggressive than her sisters (especially Stormy). She's an enemy to Tecna and Layla. Stormy: The youngest of the trio, her powers involve lightning, storms, and weather. She has the shortest temper of the group and is prone to violent outbursts. She is most aggressive towards Musa in the second season. She has purple, short curly and quite frizzy hair that looks like a storm has been through it. She often doesn't think before she does something. She secretly believes she is more powerful than her older sisters Darcy and Icy. She wears hot pink/dark purple. She is the most aggressive sister of the trio. She's an enemy to Musa and Flora.

[edit] The Specialists

Main article: List of minor Winx Club characters#The Specialists The Specialists are a group of students who attend an all-boys school near Alfea, the Red Fountain School for Specialists. The following six Specialists have become the boyfriends of the Winx girls. It should be noted that throughout the series, the boys often need the girls' help. However, they can manage on their own at times.

Sky: The prince of Eraklyon, he feels stifled by his position. He has medium blonde hair and is the king in "Secret of the Lost Kingdom." Because he loves Bloom, he refuses to marry Diaspro, the girl of his parents' choice. Also, at the start of the first season, Sky does not use his real name, because he wanted to see what it was like to be a normal guy as well as divert any threats on his life from Yoshinoya, so he and Brandon switch. He is Bloom's boyfriend, then he asks her to marry him, making him Bloom's fiancee. He is also Brandon's best friend. Brandon: Sky's squire, a great swordsman and ladies' man. He has short brown hairwith one very long fringe. He is Stella's boyfriend. In the first season, he switched names with Sky. He is the strongest of

the group, and will go through great lengths for Stella. He is also best friends with Sky. He loves Stella, therefore he asks her to marry him in the fourth season, making him Stella's fiancee.

Timmy: The brains of the group and comes from a long line of scientists. He has short ginger hair and is Tecna's boyfriend. He is shy, sweet, and smart. Both Tecna and Timmy love technology, making them an obvious couple. When Tecna sacrificed herself for the sake of the whole magic dimension and got trapped in the Omega Dimension, Timmy felt depressed and missed her a lot, often falling into trances. He however regains confidence when the team rescued Tecna. He is an expert pilot and mechanic. His weapon of choice is plasma gun but occasionally picks up a yellow rapier phantoblade. He is shown to have less fighting skills but has the most intellect, which proves very useful to the team. Timmy is best friends with Helia. Riven: A lone wolf, very competitive and good at sports. He has short spiked magenta colored hair. His mother left him in his young age and so he is wary of women in general. He is Musa's boyfriend. Sometimes, he might overreact with Musa because he's jealous when Musa became friends with another boy. At first Riven had a connection with Cloudtower because he was controlled under a spell until the witches realized they didn't need him any more and they locked him up in Cloudtower. Luckily he escaped and joined the good guys. His weapon of choice is either a reddish purple saber or meteor hammer. Riven is best friends with Nabu. Helia: An artistic student, he is a great pilot and a pacifist. His uncle, Saladin, is the Headmaster of Red Fountain. He has long blue-black hair tied into a loose ponytail in the second and third season but cuts it to sport spiky fringes in the fourth season. He is also very romantic and shy about directly speaking about his feelings. He is very good at using his laser string glove (a fictional weapon in the show) and tries to help everyone with it. He is Flora's boyfriend. He was a top student in Red Fountain in his first year until he decided to quit and study art at another school. He came back for his second year at Red Fountain and joined Sky's squad. Helia is the oldest of all the boys because he would have been in his third year at the start of the first season had he not dropped out to go to art school. Both Helia and Flora love nature and can't bear to see if someone harms it. Helia is best friends with Timmy. Nabu: A man of nobility born of Andros,[nb 8] the same planet where Layla is from. He is engaged to Layla and secretly left his home planet under the identity of 'Ophir' to discover who this his would-be wife was and find out what she was truly like. Instead, the Winx and the Specialists mistake him as a spy of Valtor. He however saves the team on multiple occasions and helped defeat Valtor. He gained Layla's trust and love. He also joined the group on Earth in the fourth season. Nabu is also a wizard, shown using magic unlike other boys. He also uses a magic shaft as a weapon. Nabu has very long dark reddish brown hair, often braided or tied. Nabu is best friends with Riven. In the Episode 24 of fourth season, Nabu dies as a sacrifice.

[edit] Setting
This section requires expansion.

[edit] Gardenia
Gardenia is a major city on earth where Bloom lived most of her life with her parents Mike and Vanessa. After discovering that she was a fairy, she moved into the dormitories of Alfea and would occasionally return to visit her parents or to introduce her friends to the unique culture. In the fourth season, Gardenia becomes the main setting as the Winx pursues and protects Roxy, the last fairy on Earth.

[edit] The Realm of Magix

The Realm of Magix is an alternate universe where most of the series unfolds. It is also the name of a city in that universe. It is an enchanted and highly technologically-advanced universe of hospitable planets populated by fairies, witches, heroes, and monsters where everyone has magic powers. [edit] Alfea Alfea is a boarding school for fairies in training. All of the Winx girls met and reside here and have a close relationship with its headmistress, Ms. Faragonda. At Alfea, fairies learn to fight evil, help their planets, or, in many cases, become queens of their planets. When Bloom and the other girls met there, they immediately were best friends and formed Winx, since they all live in one room. [edit] Cloudtower Cloudtower[nb 9] is a boarding school for witches in training, and for most of the first season, it was the residence for the Trix and Mirta. At Cloudtower, the witches learn about witchcraft. In later episodes of the first season, the Trix took over Cloudtower and caused a disaster after they stole the Dragon's Flame from Bloom. Ms. Griffin is their headmistress. It is revealed in season 2 that she is friends with Ms. Faragonda. The Winx go to Cloud Tower [4kids] to learn the art of dark magic. And in the third season, Griffin, Saladin and Faragonda are in the Company of Light. It was also revealed that she had a past with Valtor.[nb 1] [edit] Redfountain Redfountain[nb 10] is a boarding school for the specialists, one magical forest away from Alfea. It teaches fighting and the use of technology. In Redfountain, boys are taught how to go on dangerous missions and to fight for their respective planets. Redfountain and Alfea have a close relationship and Miss Faragonda and Saladin have a long history together and hold the secret to Bloom's past.

[edit] Reception
This section requires expansion. In 2004, Winx Club had a 45% share of television viewers between 414 years old.[4] The show attracts 55% girls and 45% boys according to research, Straffi says.[5]

[edit] Other media

[edit] Publications
In Italy, there are two ongoing monthly comic books in publication. One is a monthly Winx Club comic book, although its storyline has generally not been related to that of the animated series. The other is Pixie, a spin-off of the Winx Club comic book centered around the pixies.

[edit] Feature films

Dancers portraying the Winx Club attend the Rome Film Fest in Italy. A CGI feature film, Winx Club: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom, was announced in late 2006, and released in Italy on 30 November 2007. It was released on 20 November 2008 in Singapore (as of current writing, it is only market outside of Europe and also the only market to see it in English). The plot of the film revolves around Bloom's origins, and takes place after the events of the third season.[6] The official website for the film covers several markets, with release dates and other information. At the Licensing Expo 2008 in New York, Rainbow announced the production of a second film, slated to premiere in 2010. It later announced in spring 2010 that it would be titled "Magica Avventura" (Magical Adventure) and it would be Italy's first 3D movie, with a release date of October 29. [7] A 10 minute promo reel will be shown at the Giffoni Film Festival in July. [8]

[edit] Theatre
In September 2005, the "Winx Power" musical show began in Italy.[9][10] After a successful tour in Italy, it also expanded to Belgium and the Netherlands, before expanding to Portugal in 2009. November 2008 also saw the launch of "Winx On Ice", an ice show starring Carolina Kostner.[11]

[edit] Personality Profile

Bloom was born on planet Domino (Sparks on 4Kids)[2] to King Oritel and Queen Marion. Shortly after birth, her planet was attacked by a coven of witches (the Trix's ancestors) who sought to retrieve the Dragon's Flame[3] from Domino.[2] During this battle, the lively culture and population was decimated. In a final sacrificial act to ensure that the Dragon's Flame[3] did not fall into the wrong hands, Bloom's older sister, Daphne, sent her into a portal that led to another planet, Earth.

On Earth, Bloom was found in a burning building by a firefighter named Mike, who rescued and eventually adopted her. Her adoptive mother was a florist named Vanessa. Bloom led an ordinary life, but she held a strong belief in fairies, even though she was unaware of her true origin (In 4Kids, she once had a belief in fairies, but grew out of it, as most people do). In her youth, she received a gift, her close pet rabbit Kiko, and met her rival, the snobbish and arrogant Mitzi. At the beginning of season one, Bloom was 16 years old. Bloom's outfits are primarily blue, although in the official Winx Club website, her favorite color is red. Another inconsistency with color was made in season 2, where she tells the then fake Professor Avalon that her favorite color was purple. She loves reading books about spells and playing with her pet rabbit, Kiko. Her favorite subject is Potionology and her favorite spell is the Dragon's Flame. Her profile on the official site also states that her favortie food is pizza (her mother states this in the cartoon as well), that she likes romanitic comedies, and she likes pop music. She's also terrible at being tidy and can be a bit unorganized at times.

[edit] History
[edit] Life in Alfea: The First Year
Main article: Winx Club (season one)

At Alfea, a school for fairies, Bloom and Stella shared the same dormitory, meeting Flora, Musa and Tecna, their fellow roommates. They became friends and soon, on a trip to Magix, they were attacked by a trio of witches, otherwise known as the Trix, as Bloom had been spying on them. After constant attacks, the Winx Club gained the attention of Ms. Faragonda, the headmistress of Alfea. After an attack on Musa in Magix, the girls learned that the reason for the constant fighting was that the Trix were seeking to get the power of the Dragon's Flame,[3] and after a fight in which Bloom unleashed an enormous amount of energy, they were soon convinced that Bloom had it. Unfamiliar with the term Dragon Fire, she sought the guidance of her headmistress and was told the history of Domino.[2] Bloom herself would not know that she had this power until the Trix later succeeded in taking it, leading to a series of journeys for Bloom to regain what she had though she had lost. Her powers went away when she came to believe that something special could be taken away. With that power the Trix brought up the Army of Decay. They set Red Fountain on fire and it became ruins. It is rebuilt in season 2 though.

[edit] Life in Alfea: The Second Year

Main article: Winx Club (season two)

A new fairy, Layla, the princess of Andros, joins the Winx Club with her pixie Piff. After waking up from a comatose state, she reveals that the rest of the Pixies she'd tried to rescue are trapped in Shadowhaunt, the UnderRealm fortress of Lord Darkar. With limited Winx power, Layla, Bloom, and Stella must go on a special mission to rescue the other five Pixies with Sky and Brandon. During the rescue mission, Bloom bonds with Lockette, the Pixie of Portals. Afterwards, the group returns to Alfea, where the other Winx girls also bond with Pixies. Meanwhile, a new teacher named Professor Avalon has arrived at Alfea, and he takes a special interest in Bloom. Tecna and her bonded Pixie, Digit, believed that the new teacher was the "Angel of Doom", but this was revealed to be false.

Near the end of Season 2, the Professeor Avalon at Alfea was revealed to be a fake, as the real Avalon had escaped from Shadowhaunt and informed Ms. Faragonda that he needed to stop a spy of Darkar's. Meanwhile, Bloom is with the fake Avalon, who reveals his true form, which turns out to be a horrible winged creature. The impostor traps Bloom in a negative-energy bubble that drains her powers, and brings her back to Shadowhaunt, where Darkar transforms her into Dark Bloom, because he needed her Dragon Fire combined with his own Shadow Fire to unite the Codex and claim the Ultimate Power of Realix. However, Sky is able to save Bloom by telling her that he loves her. (In the original version, it is revealed that Bloom possessed healing powers, which she used to revive Sky and also break the Evil spell Darkar had used to turn her into Dark Bloom).

[edit] Life in Alfea: The Third Year

Main article: Winx Club (season three)

Bloom learns of a new enemy named Valtor (Baltor in 4Kids version), who had been imprisoned in the Omega Dimension until the Trix freed him. Bloom learned that he was an evil wizard conjured by the Ancient Witches from the Dragon's Flame, and had ties to the past of Sparks, Bloom's home realm, as he had declared himself Bloom's sworn enemy and revealed that he was the one who destroyed her home planet. After Tecna had vanished into the Omega Portal, apparently never to be seen or heard from again (but finding her in a later episode while she and Sky are searching the Omega Dimension for their comrades) and Bloom suffered a defeat in an attempt to destroy Valtor and avenge the loss of her friend, she decided that she needed to become stronger and earn her Enchantix powers. Ms. Faragonda sent Bloom to Pyros, where she'd met the sorceress Maya. Maya taught Bloom how to focus all her energy on one target. Later on, the Trix attacked Pyros, and Bloom fought the three Witches to a virtual standstill, but, because she refused to surrender and believed that she could defeat Valtor while becoming one with the essence of Pyros, she gained her Enchantix and was victorious in the end. Near the end of the season, Valtor invaded Alfea to claim their strongest magic spells, and the girls had recently acquired the Water Stars from the Golden Kingdom. When Bloom was about to destroy him using the power of the Water Stars, he prevented her from doing so by telling her that Oritel and Marion were trapped within his own body. This was later revealed to be a hoax after Bloom visited the Crypt of the Ancient Witches. With the truth revealed, and two episodes later (the finale of season 3), Bloom ventured into another dimension, where she faced off against Valtor who had become a beast and extinguished the essence of his Dragon's Flame with her Fairy Dust (in the 4Kids dub, she used her Dragon Fury attack), thus sealing him away with the three Ancient Witches inside their crypt. (However, it has been rumored that he may come back in the second movie).

[edit] The Secret of the Lost Kingdom (first movie)

Main article: Winx Club: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom

With Valtor defeated and the Magical Dimension safe for the time being, Bloom and her friends began their search for Bloom's parents, King Oritel and Queen Marion of Domino. The girls sought out Hagan, the blacksmith who had forged the Sword of King Oritel, but after a small skirmish, he stated that he was unable to help Bloom in any way. Back on Earth, Bloom was visited by the spirit of her sister Daphne, who gave Bloom her mask so she could see Domino as it was before Valtor and the three Ancient Witches destroyed it. Traveling to the Obsidian Dimension, Bloom found out after confronting an evil sorceress named Mandragora that Oritel's wife, Marion, was absorbed inside the sword that Hagan had fashioned to be, literally, "fit for a king" before Domino met its

apparent end (the entire planet was covered with ice and snow). However, only a pure-hearted king without a crown could release the sword and restore the entire realm back to normal. To Bloom's surprise, Skywho had revealed himself as the new King of Eraklyon, because his father had abdicated the thronewas able to release the Sword of Oritel and save the kingdom, which in turn also restored Marion to her human form. At the end, Sky asks Bloom for her hand in marriage and she accepted almost instantly. However, by destroying the Obsidian Dimension, the Winx girlswho have been called the new "Company of Light"didn't know that they freed the 3 Ancient Witches, who are seen at the end of the movie possessing their descendants, Icy, Darcy, and Stormy. It is possible that this will play a part in either Season 5 or the second movie.

[edit] Life in Alfea: The Fourth Year

Main article: Winx Club (season four)

At the start of the season, Ms. Faragonda invites Bloom and the other Winx girls back to Alfea to teach new students, because they have all achieved full Enchantix status. Although nervous, Bloom is also ecstatic to be back at Alfea, but stunned at her newfound fame after the events of the "Secret Of The Lost Kingdom" film. After finding out that they no longer had their dorm rooms, but a separate quarters, Ms. Faragonda informs the girls of a new form after Enchantix, called "Believix". Bloom and her friends then go and teach their first class (which Tecna dubs "Winxology"). After Flora is injured during a demonstration of their powers for their new students, the girls must deal with new foes, the Wizards of the Black Circle, who were looking for the last fairy on Earth and targeted Bloom, not knowing that she was originally from Sparks. Knowing that the last fairy on earth had to be found, they leave for Pixie Village, where they discover that the fairy they seek is in Bloom's hometown of Gardenia. The girls use the Tree of Life to leave for Earth and rescue the last fairy, whom they learn is Roxy, and gain their Believix when she finally believes in them. The Fairy Hunters, also known as the Wizards of the Black Circle, still relentlessly attack Bloom and the other girls, who they know are protecting Roxy. Bloom takes on a mentor-like role with Roxy, as she feels that they have a lot in common because they were both didn't know about the world of fairies and magic after growing up, thinking that they were normal humans. While on Earth, Bloom, with Mike's and Vanessa's help, together with Winx opens pet-shop named "Love&Pet" where they give to Gardenian people nice small magic pets (which Flora creates from toys), also selling accessories for them. Bloom also was the leader of the Winx Rock Band, having shown not ordinary talent in singing.

[edit] Appearance
Civilian Bloom is a redhead, has cyan eyes, and a medium skin tone. Her daily outfit consists of a blue and yellow midriff shirt, spangled blue jeans with stars on the ends and yellow wedge sandals. From season 2 onwards, she wears a blue and white striped shirt with little pink hearts, a denim miniskirt with over-the-knee blue socks and lace up blue high-heeled boots. She is seen wearing this outfit quite frequently. She sometimes wears a T-shirt with a single heart on it. [1] Winx Her Winx outfit is a sparkly blue top decorated with a gold jewel at her chest, a matching miniskirt and blue ankle boots. She also wears blue gloves around her arms from elbow to wrist and wears a small golden tiara with rounded points at the top of her head. Her wings are cyan with teal tips, and her Charmix is a silver and gold heart pin with a fluffy pink bag at her waist, also heart-shaped. [2] Winx Transformation Sequence Bloom's Winx transformation sequence is probably, along with Tecna's, the longest out of the Winx girls(0:12) and is also detailed. Firstly, Bloom spins around a ball of flame, and the flame's light fills the screen. Bloom claps her hands above her head, & crosses her hands. Her gloves burn up her arms into place, followed by her top as she strikes a pose with her arms spread apart. Her wings stretch out as she poses sideways, and her tiara flashes onto her head. She flies upwards, and then claps her hands in such a way that the movement of her hands makes a makeshift heart of flame, then she lands and strikes her final pose. Charmix Transformation Sequence [3] In her Charmix transformation she twirls around before a silver heart appears around her jewel on her top. Then she does a double twirl around and the pink heart appears at the side of her skirt. She was the first to get her Charmix , but she would not use it until after she had returned to Alfea (she was fifth to transform, only ahead of Flora, who had not earned hers by that time). Bloom earned her Charmix in the Resort Realm when she saved her and her friends using teamwork from a falling cable car. Enchantix Bloom's Enchantix is a layered, frilly-like outfit, while primarily cyan in color, also consists of various, rainbow-organized colors of light green, soft pink, light yellow and purple, with pink, translucent above-theelbow gloves (both). She also has a pink bow in front of her neck, matching eye liner, & lipstick. In the cartoon however, the dress seems to be just turquoise, cyan and light blue. Her wings, now ample in size, are both light yellow and pink, with a soft alice blue outlining and speckled with dark blue decorative jewels. Her wings do

not resemble butterflies' but are insectoid and are distinguished by discal forewing spurs which spiral inwards. Her hair (the only one of the Winx girls, besides Tecna, it seems, to not have it styled in pigtails) has also grown several inches in length and has seemed to earn a much more tame, elegant look and style, it becomes strait but she has curls at the bottom, and is longer than her regular winx form. Her entire enchantix look is very beautiful, and glamorous. She has yellow orange highlights that are located at the top of her head, on her bangs and at the ends of her hair. She has also discarded her cyan colored boots and dons blue strappy, barefoot sandals that are decorated with three hearts, and wears two sets of blue, heart shaped barettes on either side of her head (ironically instead of a tiara as the other Winx girls do, excluding Tecna, and as she traditionally does while within her regular Winx form) in addition to earrings of the same color and shape. She is the last Winx member to obtain her Enchantix. Enchantix Transformation Sequence Bloom's Enchantix transformation is a little short(0:30) but it is detailed. It begins with the Great Dragon approaching her while she is spinning toward him as a silhouette, with her arms wrapped around her legs. The dragon flies near her a couple of times. As Bloom's closed eyelids sparkle and pink eyeshadow appears on them. While golden light is all around her, she moves her hands slightly while the Dragon approches her once more and circles her from head to toe. her hands move slightly, willing her gloves to materialize in a burst of sparkles. Her sandals magically appear on her feet. While a powder-blue fabric unravels out of a unbloomed flower shape, it beams on to her and becomes her main outfit and her wings blossom from her back as she spins once. Then, she glides into a bright background and strikes her final pose Bloom earned her Enchantix in a different way than the rest of the Winx Club, by focusing all the will power, & energy in her body to defeat Valtor in one perfect moment when the witches said his name. Since this was a very rare and unusual way of earning her Enchantix, Ms. Faragonda, the Headmistress of Alfea School, warned Bloom that her Enchantix is not very developed/complete and may not work as well for her as the rest of the Winx girls. Her fairy dust vial is blue with a heart-shaped top and handle surrounding it and unlike most winx girls it is on a chain rather than a choker. But, when she was able to save her entire planet in the "Secret of the Lost Kingdom" movie, it is assumed that Bloom's Enchantix was finally complete, as she had graduated from Alfea at the end with the other Winx girls. This was further supported with evidence in episode 2 of season 4, she was able minaturise herself along with the other winx girls, an act that she was unable to perform during season 3 and the during one of movie scenes of "Secret of the Lost Kingdom" before saving her kingdom, when her enchantix was in an incomplete state, that is assuming that her enchantix is now officially complete after saving her home planet. Believix [4] From top to bottom: Bloom's hair has reached knee-length, and she has a two braids on the back of her head that holds a small amount of her hair tied to a golden heart barrette while light pink eyeshadow is on her eyelids. She wears a midriff-bearing top with pink puffy shoulders, with a cyan blue vest, and translucent sleeves. Her new wings are larger than her Enchantix wings, and lined in blue with a pale blue interior, pink heart shapes, and small dark blue heart gems decorating the wings themselves. Her gloves are fingerless and light blue in color. Her skirt is poofy and cheerleader-like, colored blue with a dark blue heart on each hip that holds a pair of purple ribbons in place, a matching purple band around the above the layered ruffles that are blue on top and pink on the bottom. Lastly, sandals are replaced with a pair of high heeled boots, that are darker blue on the top and on the heel, and a light blue on the actual heel part of the shoe. She also has pink socks that come up to just below the knee and on top has a hot pink rim that goes around them. Believix Transformation Sequence Bloom's Believix transformation is the longest of the other girl's transformations (0:35) and it is also detailed. It starts with her hair blowing in an unseen wind as she raises her left hand and then her right, a flash of light forming her gloves. She then spins around, her already tied hair in back, then the screen flashes and we see a

close-up of her smiling at us before she becomes a silhouette and spins around again, a dragon-shaped ring of fire circling her waist and becoming her skirt. She then spins around again, revealing herself to be fully clothed, and, on the third spin, her wings materialize in a flash of light and she flies back into her pose as the Dragon Fire coils around her. Bloom's Zoomix, Speedix and Tracix sequence starts out with her in a pose with her arms stretched forward. The three sets of wings then appear closing in to the screen until they are out of frame one after the other. Bloom then reappears with the three sets of wings spinning around her. Bloom then touches the wings she needs, and then shouts either "Winx Zoomix!","Winx Speedix!", or "Winx Tracix!" depending on which one she chooses. Note: One can identify which wings are being formed by looking at the background. The Speedix wings' background is purple and blue. The Zoomix wings' background is blue with diagonal white stripes. The Tracix wings background has multicolored sparkles. There are two other transformations: Sophiex and Lovix. Sophiex is a nature-based transformation and Lovix is a winter-based transformation.

[edit] Other
When Bloom turned evil due to Lord Darkar's diabolical influence on her (Dark Bloom) - her eyes change color to yellow, with cat-eye pupils, while her lipstick and eyeshadow become purple. Her still-sparkling Winx outfit is somewhat blue-black instead of the usual cyan. While the tiara becomes pointed, both the tiara and brooch turn purple. Bloom's hair also becomes thicker and a darker shade of red while her wings become dentate and cyan with gray tips. While in this form, she steals the Codex fragment from Alfea for Darkar. She only made one other appearance in the finale of Season 2, when Darkar knew he needed the powers of light and darkness to claim the Ultimate Power of Realix. Thanks to her friends and mainly Sky declaring his love for her Bloom is able to heal herself, and reverse the spell. She returns to normal, returns the Ultimate Power, and joins her friends in a Charmix Convergence that Banishes Darkar back to Shadowhaunt

[edit] Relationships
Bloom is very close to Stella as she was the one that introduced Bloom to Alfea. Bloom shares a room with Flora. At first, the bond between Bloom and Flora is weak but after some time, they became good friends. Bloom does not have much of a problem getting along with the other girls. She is kind and will give a helping hand to her friends when needed. However, it is considered that Stella and Bloom are best friends in season 1. But in season 2 and the movie, Bloom and her roommate Flora have been best friends. Stella moved to being Layla's best friend in season 2; however, in the next two seasons, they have not been as close. Stella returns as Bloom's closest friend in the start of season 3 and 4. Stella was the first fairy Bloom has ever met and, in addition, their boyfriends were born on the same planet and they are also best friends. In season 4, Bloom meets Roxy and has a very close relationship with her as the two have very similar backgrounds. Bloom was thrust into the world of fairies and discovered her true identity as princess of Domino (Sparks) and had trouble dealing with everything. Roxy who was also thrust into the world of magic like Bloom, had no idea of her fairy abilities until she met Bloom and the Winx Club. She also has a boyfriend, Sky, the Prince of Eraklyon, a realm in the show. In the fourth season Sky becomes King of Eraklyon, and becomes Bloom's fianc at the end of Secret of the Lost Kingdom.

[edit] Magical abilities

Bloom is the most powerful fairy for all times. The main Bloom's power is the Dragon's Flame - the greatest power in the Magical Dimension. She hails from the planet Domino, which was destroyed many years ago, with only her sister Daphne, who survived in spiritual form, and she left as survivors. After the attack, Domino turned into a dark, freezing place. Bloom's most common attack is the "Fire Ball". Throughout the series she also uses the Dragon Fury (Dragon Fire Fury in the 4Kids edit), Heat Flare, Dragon Holocaust, Dragon Twister, Flame Shield, Flame Burst, Fire Armor, Dragon Inferno, Dragon Rage, Flame Strike, Flaming Circle Assault and the Fire Wall. When Blooms earns her Enchantix she also uses the Enchantix Sphere and the Enchantix Flame Burst. In season 4 when she gains her Believix her new attacks are "Flame Arrow" and "Heart of the Dragon". Most of her attacks could be said to be offensive attacks. Bloom's attacks are based entirely around the element of fire, and usually consist of fiery blasts and explosions, even creating an inferno during Stella's ruined Princess Ball in Season 3. When she is angry, her power is intensified causing her entire body to glow like a fire and explode outwards in a powerful blast. She can conjure shields and barriers of fire and walls of flame, most of her magical shields are either star or heart-shaped (more of the latter in her Enchantix and Believix forms). Bloom can see the intentions of non-magical beings and their true nature and can read their minds and emotions. Bloom also has the ability to heal people as the Dragon's Flame is also the Flame of Life. This was first shown in the 10th episode of season 2 when she revived Sky who died after an attack from Icy in Red Fountain. Later, she used this power to cure the pixies from the spell from Lord Darkar. She would learn about why she had healing powers just before a convergence exam, and at the end of season 2, when she used it to heal herself and her friends, bringing Riven back to life (he sacrificed himself so Musa could live). Bloom also knows some basic spells that all fairies can use, such as telekinesis, shapeshifting, transmuting objects from one to another, and fixing minor messes. In Season 4, Bloom can use the power of Zoomix, Speedix and Tracix, which can only be used by fairies who have achieved Believix.
