Internship Description
The Coca Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated (CCBCC) Supply Chain & Operations Management (SCOM) College Internship Program is a unique opportunity for college students to garner handson experience and take their classroom learning into the real world as they experience CCBCCs supply chain and operations management processes responsible for our continued success in producing and delivering the worlds best beverages on the planet to our customers. The program follows the entire SCOM process starting with the purchasing of raw materials to the delivery of the finished goods where they are distributed to stores, restaurants, and vending machines. Following that process, interns will explore each of the facets involved in the SCOM process at CCBCC including Sales, Warehousing Logistics, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, Distribution, Transportation and Delivery. Interns will gain real-world applications of theory and SCOM concepts by working in an entry-level capacity in our facilities as well as spending time with supervisors and managers in some of these areas. In addition, interns will have the opportunity to interface with senior level managers including time with executive leadership at CCBCC headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

Scope of Internship
The SCOM Internship at CCBCC is an 8-week paid internship that takes place between May and August. (Specific dates agreed upon between student and internship coordinator.) Interns will work between 25-30 hours per week in each functional area. In addition, interns will also be expected to spend 4-5 hrs each week reading sections within the student manual prior to visiting each area, reflecting on the questions at the end of each st section, and preparing for weekly presentations. After a successful 1 summer internship, students have the nd opportunity to be invited to participate in a 2 year of the program. Internship opportunities will be available at our 5 manufacturing centers in Charlotte, NC; Bishopville, SC; Roanoke, VA; Nashville, TN; and Mobile, AL, and nearby facilities in Clayton, NC; Lavergne, TN; Columbia, SC; Greenville, NC; Greensboro, NC; and Fayetteville, NC. Each facility has the capacity to accept one (1) summer intern with the exception of Clayton, Charlotte, and Nashville where we plan on employing two (2) interns each.

Internship requirements
o o o Interns selected to participate in the CCBCC SCOM Internship program will be in their Sophomore or Junior year. It is preferable for the intern to have the availability to participate in the program over the course of 2 (two) summers. Interns will have in their academic background a concentration or major in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing, Distribution, Inventory Management, Engineering, Business, or related disciplines. There is an expectation that Interns participating in the program obtain, at their own expense, housing in the city of their internship and have the ability to commute to their site and other nearby locations. Some aspects of the internship program will involve physical activity requiring the intern to pick up or carry finished goods weighing between 20-40lbs as well as walk up and down stairs.

Expectations
Coca-Cola produces the worlds most recognized beverages and CCBCC is the largest independent bottler in the United States. We take pride in everything we do and adhere to a philosophy, which can be found in on the first page of the Intern Manual. Each employee is a reflection of CCBCC and while you are interning with CCBCC you are considered an employee. The SCOM internship is a unique opportunity for interns to learn and showcase their talent. CCBCC has the following expectations of its interns: o o o CCBCC expects that interns adhere to our corporate philosophy and maintain a high level of professionalism during the internship. Interns are expected to review the material in the manual pertaining to upcoming experiences so that they are prepared to ask and answer questions. Interns are expected to arrive on time and dress appropriately for the days experience. Polo and T -shirts are provided to you to wear. Unless otherwise indicated, business casual is expected and start times are 8am unless otherwise specified by the syllabus or Mentor. You will be expected to present your experiences to your supervisors on a weekly basis. You will be required to design and complete a project at the end of the internship. The purpose of the project is to identify some aspect of our SCOM processes (on your own or with the help of one of your mentors) that can be improved upon and benefit CCBCC. You will be given two weeks to complete this project and present it to senior level managers at CCBCC at the end of the internship experience at the SCO main office in Charlotte, NC. Interns will be evaluated by their supervisor and the mentors they interact throughout the internship. As we strive to provide the best experiences possible, interns will be required to provide feedback anonymously about their experience to the Director of Internship Programming.

Week 1
Day 1
On Boarding Process Safety Overview Complete paperwork with Branch Administrator, complete Pure Safety Training, and review Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) requirements Training and testing through Pure Safety Overview of Warehouse/Manufacturing Safety Protocols Introduction of Food Safety Overview with Quality Assurance Emergency Procedures/Accident Reporting Overview: Fork Lift Training Safe Lifting Techniques

General Overview

Manger Discussion - Manager will provide overview in all areas listed plus request any system user access IDs where needed, assign a mentor, discuss curriculum requirements, scheduling, and reporting structure 1- Company Overview (History & Purpose)/ Bottleworks video 2- Logistics Hierarchy 3- Sales Branch Hierarchy 4- Request All Needed user access IDs Note: Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be provided.

Day 2
Branch Overview Tour Facility with Manger and receive an overview of the branch operations to include Sales and Delivery functions. In addition, the Manger will introduce the Intern to managers and teammates within the branch. Note: Wear comfortable shoes. Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be provided. 1- Sales 2- Delivery 3- Warehouse 4- Manufacturing

Sales: PreSell Acct. Manager Spend Day in field with Pre Sell Manager Note: Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be provided.

Day 4
Sales: Bulk Account Manager Spend Day in field with Bulk Account Manager Note: Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be provided.

Day 5
Students will be responsible for providing weekly reviews/feedback on their experiences each week to their mentors and invited guests. This is a critical part of the learning process. With the complexity of the SCOM process at CCBCC, this helps to ensure that the intern truly understands each facet of the SCOM process. The other purpose is to foster professional development and familiarity with CCBCC staff. Dress: Business casual. Lunch will be provided.

Week 2
Day 1 & 2
Warehouse I Train with Mentor for hands-on knowledge of picker/pallet responsibilities and functions including bulk build, loading and check in process Overview of Warehouse functions See how the flow of information is received and processed Experience order building and loading of orders onto trucks

Note: This facet of the SCOM process will involve physical activity requiring interns to pick up, stack and carry finished goods weighing between 20-40lbs as well as walking up and down stairs. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Bring your lunch. Interns will be given time for breaks and lunch.

Day 3
Bulk/CooLift Route Ride (5:00 a.m. Sale Branch) Interns will team with a pre-assigned driver and go out on delivery routes to develop a better understanding of the different product delivery methodologies employed at CCBCC. It will give the intern an opportunity to get hands on experience on the front lines of the SCOM process.

Note: Interns will be riding in a truck and lifting between 20-40lbs of product to assist driver. Wear comfortable clothes. Bring a small cooler with beverages and food.

Day 4
Tel-Sell/Full-Service Route Ride (5:00 a.m. Sale Branch) Similar to Day 4, interns will team with a pre-assigned driver for this discipline to learn and understand the function and responsibilities for these delivery systems.

Note: Interns will be riding in a truck and lifting between 20-40lb. of product to assist driver. Wear comfortable clothes. Bring a small cooler with beverages and food.

Week 3
Day 1-3
Manufacturing Interns will spend 3 days learning the various functions of the Manufacturing process and how the different roles within this area take raw materials and turn them into finished goods. Interns will train with Mentors for hands-on knowledge of the Manufacturing Process at CCBCC including: Quality Assurance Production Operations Maintenance Manufacturing-Related Inventory and Reconciliation

Note: You will be walking around the manufacturing facility for extended periods of time possibly lifting and walking up and down stairs. Wear PPE, comfortable shoes and clothes with long sleeves and pants for Food Safety (all necessary information or training will be provided). You will be given breaks and time for lunch/dinner. Prepare accordingly.

Day 4
Shipping/Receiving (Afternoons) Interns will spend most of day shadowing in this area to learn more about the Shipping and Receiving function at CCBCC. Specifically, interns will examine: Receiving Process for finished goods, raw materials, deposit items, etc. Receiving Process for finished goods, raw materials, deposit items, etc. Relationship between Shipping/Receiving with Manufacturing, Warehouse, etc. Note: You will be walking around the warehouse. Wear PPE and comfortable clothes/shoes. You will be given breaks and time for lunch/dinner. Prepare accordingly.

Week 4
Day 1 & 2
Warehouse II nd 2 Shift (Day1 Inventory Coordinate Time w/Supervisor Day 2 Evening) The second shift provides interns the opportunity to see other critical functions of the Warehouse that take place before the shift starts or after the first leaves. These functions include: Inventory Check-In Process Check-out Process Shift Change Truck Loading nd Shadow Warehouse Lead, Supervisor and Manager on 2 shift

Note: You will be lifting between 20-40lbs occasionally and walking up and down stairs. Wear PPE and comfortable clothes/shoes. You will be given breaks and time for lunch/dinner. Prepare accordingly.

Day 3
Route Ride Sales Manager Now that interns have an overview of the role of the Account Managers, they will get the opportunity to ride around with a Sales Manager in the field and learn the functions of the supervisors role and how they shape the sales that drive our SCOM process.

Note: Dress is business casual. Lunch will be provided.

Day 4
Route Ride Delivery Manager Coordinating the delivery of our products to our customers is a critical part of the SCOM process. Interns will have the opportunity to shadow a Delivery Manager in the field and learn the functions of this supervisor role and their relationship with the delivery of finished goods to our customers.

Week 5
Day 1-5
2 week Specialization/ Begin Project Development This is an opportunity to select an area within the SCOM Process to spend 2 weeks of concentrated learning. Speak with your Supervisor about your interests.

Note: You will be working in the area of your choice gaining a deeper knowledge of the SCOM Process of your choice. During this time you will meet with your Mentor/Supervisor to discuss a project that you will develop and present at the end of the internship in Charlotte, NC to Senior Managers and Directors. During this time, dress according to the area of specialization.

Week 6
Day 1-5
2 week Specialization/ Begin Project Development This is an opportunity to select an area within the SCOM Process to spend 2 weeks of concentrated learning. Speak with your Supervisor about your interests.

Note: You will be working in the area of your choice gaining a deeper knowledge of the SCOM Process of your choice. During this time you will meet with your Mentor/Supervisor to discuss a project that you will develop and present at the end of the internship in Charlotte, NC to Senior Managers and Directors. Interns will travel with their supervisor to learn how other branch operations vary in size and functionality. Meet branch teams and observe dynamics

Interns will travel with their supervisor to learn how other branch operations vary in size and functionality. Meet branch teams and observe dynamics

Note: You will be visiting other branches learning the similarities and differences of other locations as well as the constraints and challenges other Branches face. Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be provided.

Day 3
Recap of Weeks 1 7 with Project Manager Note: You will be in the office reviewing your experiences over the past 7 weeks with your supervisor. Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be provided.

Day 4 Finalize project for presentation


Note: You will be in the office spending time working on the final touches for your presentation and discussing any questions you may have with your mentors/supervisors. Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be provided.

Week 8
Day 1
Interns at Charlotte, NC Facility Route Planning CCBCC Corporate Office Visit All current interns will travel to the Charlotte, NC branch for 5 days to experience some of the other areas in the SCOM process not available at other branches including Route Planning, Demand Planning, etc.) Observe how cases are dispatched to trucks and delivery routes are planned based on Sales/Account Manager data Presentations by Corporate Office team (marketing, ISS, HR, etc.) Second half of day)

Note: You will be visiting our corporate office with all other interns learning more about how corporate personnel interface with SCOM personnel in the SCOM process. You will be listening to brief presentations from various corporate personnel, including a Q&A session. Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be provided.

Day 2
Supply Chain Planning Interns will explore the SCP function of CCBCC and learn the relationship of SCP within the SCOM process. Interns will train with Mentors for hands-on knowledge of Demand Planning responsibilities and functions including: Forecasting Procurement Production planning Fulfillment Brief overview tour of the SPC Warehouse Vertique System

Note: You will be in the SCOM main office learning the functions of Demand and SCP at CCBCC. Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be provided.

Day 3Transportation Interns will learn about the Transportation aspect of the SCOM process including: Transportation Overview and History at CCBCC Functions of Transportation The evolution of RCT &RCTS Project Presentation/Review in front of staff

Team with Interns from other Branches

Note: You will be working alongside interns from other intern sites as a group to present your experiences from the internship and your individual projects to your supervisors and senior level SCOM personnel. Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be provided for you.

Note: You will be required to complete a brief evaluation of the program and your experiences with your supervisor and mentors. The written evaluation will be mailed to the SCOM main office and kept confidential. The feedback is for us to ensure that we are providing the best experiences to our interns. We will take the feedback under consideration as we continue to adapt and adjust the internship program.
