SIGMA PI FRATERNITY
Welcome to Auburn University
Dear Potential Rushee and Parents, On behalf of the brothers of the Alpha Delta Chapter of Sigma Pi Fraternity, I would like to congratulate you on your acceptance to Auburn University and promise that the next four years will prove to be the most exciting and rewarding of your life. Auburn University will provide you with a great deal of opportunities, including Greek life, that can further enhance your time at college and help shape your character as well as develop leadership skills necessary for a successful life. Sigma Pi was founded nationally February 26, 1897. Alpha Delta was chartered at Auburn University in 1926. As one of the longest running houses on campus, the brothers of Sigma Pi pride themselves on their campus involvement, athletic ability, impressive social schedule, and most importantly; a brotherhood that last forever. It is this brotherhood that proves to be the most rewarding part of your college experience and will provide you with friendships and opportunities that will last a lifetime. If Sigma Pi seems like a good fit for you, please feel free to contact our Rush Chairmen (listed below) with any questions or concerns that you may have. Although not mandatory, we encourage you to come out to our numerous summer rush events. Formal Rush will take place September 3, 2013 through September 5, 2013, and we look forward to seeing you there. War Eagle, The Rush Committee The Rush Committee

BROTHERHOOD
a doubt one of the best benefits of the Sigma Pi brotherhood is friendship. The fraternity provides a place where strong friendships are forged through common goals and activities; friendships that last long after college. The word to describe this lifelong bond is brotherhood. A brotherhood is based on shared principles, mutual respect, and common goals. Being part of a fraternity is something that cannot be compared to anything else. Those who have not experienced it will never understand it, and many of those who have, can't explain it.

ROAD TRIPS
There is no better way to get to know your brothers than to kick back and get away
from school on a road trip! Whether it is going to visit someone's hometown, the beach, Mardi Gras or an away football game, our brothers are always going somewhere new and adventurous.

OUTDOORS
Whether it's hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, climbing, or just camping out, the
brothers of Sigma Pi are always up for adventure. There is no better way to recover from studying than to spend time outdoors and experience all the adventures available in the Auburn area. You are sure to find brothers who have expertise in outdoor activities you enjoy, and will gladly share their experience with you.

Pi is a social organization, so naturally one of the greatest benefits of brotherhood is the social opportunities. Our social calendar includes formals, tailgates, date nights, band parties, and socials with other fraternities and sororities. In the Spring, our house is turned into a tropical paradise for our annual week-long island celebration, Luau. Football season brings tailgates on the lawn with brothers, dates, and alumni. Band parties include Night in New Orleans, Halloween Party, Christmas Cocktail, and Redneck Riviera. Our formal, the Orchid Ball, is the highlight of our social schedule, held each year in New Orleans.

87 years, Sigma Pi has been serving our university and community through various leadership roles. From SGA Presidents to Camp War Eagle Counselors, Sigma Pi Brothers are truly the leaders of tomorrow. Our chapter is active in Auburn's Student Government Association. Brothers serve in both SGA Senate & Cabinet. We also strongly encourage our freshmen members to join Auburn's Freshman Leadership Program. Sigma Pi brothers also give back through groups like Alternative Student Breaks, which provides Auburn students with opportunities to travel the world while lending a hand. Our chapter is strongly committed to improving Auburn every day through servant leadership.

Academics: One of the primary purposes of the fraternity system is to encourage and
develop high scholastic achievement among its members. The average GPA of fraternity men has long been better that that of non-Greek men at Auburn University. Sigma Pi has GPA requirements that encourage members to excel academically. Sigma Pi also has a brother tutoring service that helps develop strong study and testing skills.

GREEK LIFE

Philanthropy: The concerns of a Greek man extend

far beyond the confines of campus life. Community service and philanthropic activities are integral components of Sigma Pi at Auburn University. Our fraternity sponsors a multitude of activities each year to raise money and donate time to individual philanthropies. Some of these events include Project Uplift with Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, the Project Paws Event for the Human Society, and the ACE Project benefiting Auburn University. The spirit of reaching out to help others in the community unites us and helps build moral character through the realization of the needs of people less fortunate.

Athletics:

Sigma Pi is actively involved in intramural sports at Auburn University. Large fraternities have their own leagues that allow for competition in basketball, softball, bowling, volleyball, flag football, and tennis. Our brotherhood takes athletics very seriously, finishing in the top three for large fraternities in 2012. Sigma Pi brothers are also a part of five different Auburn University club sports teams. Be it lacrosse, water skiing, or ice hockey, our brothers are proud to wear the Auburn uniform.

PLEDGING
Pledging Sigma Pi offers a great experience prior to becoming an active brother in
our fraternity. Pledge semester is the time when lifelong bonds are formed with your new brothers. We have a well designed pledge program aimed at educating and enlightening new members of the traditions and history of our chapter. Becoming a pledge gives new students a great opportunity to meet other members of Auburn's Greek community. The brothers plan themed swaps with each sorority's new pledge class to allow a social experience with your own age group and introduce you to Auburn's sororities. New members also participate in intramural pledge football, competing against other fraternities. Academic success is always important for a first year college student. Sigma Pi pledges have study hours at the library enforced by the Brotherhood Scholarship Chairman. Our new members also have access to the brother tutoring service.

Brotherhood dues include: fees, social events, and meals at the house. Lunch & Dinner, Monday through Friday

AUBURN TIGER FOOTBALL

part of the year for our brotherhood. From tailgates on the lawn to rolling Toomer's after a big win, the Auburn gameday experience is hard to beat. Gamedays typically start with tailgates at the Sigma Pi House with brothers, dates, and alumni. As kickoff approaches, brothers find their way to the stadium, where they enjoy some of the best seats in the entire stadium. Sigma Pi has premium seating in JordanHare Stadium's block student section because of our excellent standing in the SGA Spirit rankings. After the game, brothers can be seen at Toomer's Corner, celebrating another Auburn Tiger victory. Brothers also travel to see our Tigers play, visiting nearby Athens, Tuscaloosa, and Oxford regularly.

Sigma Pi offers a unique living experience. As the largest house on Old Row, we can
offer more than most fraternities. We have 30 single occupied rooms in the house. The living arrangements are suite style, allowing two brothers to share a bathroom. Living in the house is a great way to become an active part of the brotherhood as well as a great place to study or relax with other brothers. In addition to living areas, our house features both basketball and volleyball courts.

BROTHERHOOD ANNEX
After a brother leaves Auburn, one may think that fraternity life has come to an end. Brotherhood is for a lifetime, and you will always remember the great times with your brothers. Our alumni have always made generous contributions to our chapter. Much of the generosity is behind the scenes with the functionality of the house, but every house is in constant need of updating. Being that our house is 25 years old, it is time for a little sprucing up. The Alumni have been working hard designing a two stage renovation project that is to take place in the near future. First on the list is a brotherhood annex, or party barn, that is to be completed in the upcoming year. We are very excited about the construction and we have no doubt it will be the premier venue for any social event in Auburn!
