2012 01:21PM Hello Dears, i have a problem in my Computer and then i have this in my flash drive too. problem is that i dont know what type of threat came in my PC through net or Fla sh drive. it hides all my folders C drives, D, E and flash drives too. whenever i click on any drive i cant see anything but when i see properties of that drive it shows data. now i formated my PC but some of my important data are in flash drive i cant see these data if i know the name of folder like my picture when i type it in address bar I:\my picture then it open n show my data. how to remove this prob? wat type of virus is this dont have any name i tried all type of antivirus its s can all the folder in flash drive but i cant see them. plz help me if any body k now this. thnx Solution: 1. click start>>run>>type in "cmd" 2. type the location of your flash drive.. e.g. "d:", "e:", "f:", etc.. 3. type "dir /ah" *you will now see the files/folders with hidden attributes 4. type "attrib [name of file/folder] -r -a -s -h" *if you're going to unhide files, you should type the whole name plus the extens ion (format).. example "attrib party.jpg -r -a -s -h" **if you have folders with 6 characters and above, type the first 6 characters t hen "~1".. example for folder named "birthday" "attrib birthd~1 -r -a -s -h" 5. you should repeatedly type dir /ah after unhiding some files/folders so you'l l know if they're now working or not.. 6. now check you flash drive.. it should be there.. Aldwins note: i put a scotch tape on the side of SD card because of the write protect error (n ot sure if this work because my sd card write protect lid is working fine) i just follow the solution to see the file hidden then copy all the files to my hard drive by going thru the folder/directories of the files and type the comman d "*.* to copy all files using the CMD Another write protect error solution: It's apparent most people don't have a clue how to get around the "Disk Write Pr otect" error. I can help. What is not the problem, is the position of the switch entirely. Wit h the SD card Face up and the tiny white plastic switch on the left side, should be slid toward the card edge connector (the shortest side). I know you may have done this and it still doesn't work. Here's why, On the opposite side of the SD card from the switch, there is a tiny "Notch" cut out. Place a piece of tape, masking, electrical, sometimes transparent will work. Be very precise in placing the tape over the notch, but not over the brass connecto r on the opposite side. Then place it in your card reader, format it, read and w rite files to your desire. This is a little known issue with the design of all SD cards. The notch forces t

hem to work in camera's, MP3 Players, PDA's, etc. that are portable devices, but not in USB card readers or computers with SD reader slots. The card reader with the SD card has this extra built in feature to protect copy rights (for some reason on blank cards), and makes it useless for custom applica tions. Once you have "Unprotected" the SD card, installed your files, then remov e the tape. If you get the same error again after applying the tape, add a second layer. Dou ble check that you did not cover the connection edge, and the plastic tab is clo set to the side you insert in the device you are using. Sometimes it takes several tries, but it will work with patience. If you have ex isting files on the SD card, insert it, right click, select properties. Then rem ove the "Read Only" check by the box and try to delete or add files then. If it says Disk Write Protected, then check the tape again. Plus, I u se this tactic often to customize my SD cards for particular devices and applica tions. As far as I can tell, the plastic Read/Write Tab is useless and just ther e for decoration. It makes no difference when you see the Disk Write Protected e rror message.
