Introduction:

Regression analysis is a statistical tool for the investigation of relationships between variables. Usually, the investigator seeks to ascertain the causal effect of one variable upon another. The investigator also typically assesses the statistical significance of the estimated relationships, that is, the degree of confidence that the true relationship is close to the estimated relationship. In statistics, linear regression is an approach to modeling the relationship between a scalar dependent variable y and one or more explanatory variables denoted X. The case of one explanatory variable is called simple linear regression. For more than one explanatory variable, it is called multiple linear regressions. This term should be distinguished from multivariate linear regression, where multiple correlated dependent variables are predicted rather than a single scalar variable. In this project, a cross sectional analysis have been made on the sample population. A Cross-sectional regression is a type of regression model in which the explained and explanatory variables are associated with one period or point in time. This is in contrast to a time-series regression or longitudinal regression in which the variables are considered to be associated with a sequence of points in time. In this project, a cross sectional analysis is made to find the correlation between the club activities and the academic performance of north south university students.

Abstract:

Regression analysis is a statistical technique for estimating the relationships among variables. More specifically, regression analysis helps one understand how the typical value of the dependent variable changes when any one of the independent variables is varied, while the other independent variables are held fixed. In the project, we have performed a cross-sectional analysis to measure if there is any effect of club works on the academic performance of the students and the degree of interdependency. There was certain amount of correlation found between the variables. We would like to thank our honorable faculty Mr. ASM. Shakil Haider for his help and all our friends and classmates who have helped and motivated us to finish the project in time.
