WORLD HISTORY: INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

*The term was coined by a French Economist Auguse Blanqui (1837) * Time period : 1740-1850 in Britain 1815-19th century end in Europe It is to be called as "The transition of Industrialism" which is long,slow and evolutionary in nature.

The pre-requisites for Industrial Revolution are :


1. Desire for Material Advancement 2. Supply of raw materials 3. Markets 4. The need of labour force 5. Transportational facilities 6. Developments in Agricultural Sector

FACTORS RESPONSIBLE FOR INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION IN BRITAIN :


1. Agricultural revolution first took place 2. Vast colonial Empire of England 3. Coal and iron was found in abundance 4. Skilled and mobile labour force 5. Adequate transportation facilities 6. Enjoyed a relative peace than continental countries 7.English church got itself seperated from the Roman Catholic Church 8.In England,Special recognition was given to material advancement 9.Agricultural and surplus wealth were not in the possession of feudal lords 10. The Bank of England and the National Debt provided money for industrial development at nominal rate of interest

TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS:
The technological developments in Industrial revolution were made in the fields of : * Textile industry * Weaving industry * Spinning sector * Mechanical Power * Machine building industry
