KA13E2 - Combined-Cycle Power Plant

High availability and reliability thanks to the KA13E2 proven technology

Alstom has been a key player in the Indonesian power generation market since the 1960s, supporting the customer PT PLN in meeting the growing Indonesian energy demand through the construction of gas, coal and hydro power plants. Economic recovery has also stimulated a considerable demand for power, which combined with the decreasing generation capacities of ageing plants threatened to lead to a supply-demand imbalance. To address this situation, an investment programme was launched, which included the expansion of the Muara Tawar power plant. In 2008, Alstom was awarded the contract to build a fifth unit adding 234 MW to the existing 1800 MW output. Alstom, with its consortium partner Marubeni, procured and commissioned a fully-integrated power island. Alstom also supplied a GT13E2 gas turbine with one HRSG, one COMAX steam turbine, two turbogenerators all managed by an ALSPA control system. This power plant helps the country to face its growing demand for power while protecting the environment with clean power solutions. Customer:......................................
