Saints are our Friends!

Do you know how much our saints help us? One saint, St. John of Kronstadt, told us so himself! He said, Gods saints
are near to believing hearts and, like the truest and kindest friends, are ready in a moment to help the faithful who call upon them with faith and love. Can you think of a time when one of your friends helped you? Well, saints listen to us, too! When we ask them Our Lord with His saints! to help us with something, they ask God in heaven to help us!
When we read stories about the saints, we learn more about them. We get to know them even better, just like when we spend more time with our friends at school or in our neighborhood! When we pray to them, we can become even closer friends. We can always ask our friends, the saints, to pray for us. And they will listen!

Did you know that saints can help us with lots of different things? Thats because they lived here on earth, just like we do. They understand our problems. You can pray to different saints for your different problems!

For help at school The 3 Hierarchs (St. Basil, St. John Chrysostom, and St. Gregory) are good saints to pray to for help with your studies. They were brilliant!

For finding work If you know somebody who is looking for a job, pray to St. Xenia of St. Petersburg for him or her. She is the right one maybe because she spent most of her life without much money!

For sore throats Yes, we even have a saint to help us with sore throats! St. Blaise of Sebastia listens to our prayers because when he was going to his execution, he saved a boy who was choking on a bone!
