Violence against children is a worldwide problem. In every region of the world, children are subjected to be the victim of violence, most often by the individuals who are charged with their safety and wellbeing. Sexual violence against children is one of the fatal forms of violence, which adversely affect every aspect of child's mental health. Tripura is a small state of north east India where, like other areas of the world, both male and female children experience sexual violence. Reporting of sexual violence is very poor because of question of confidentiality and social stigma. Present study attempts to reveal the facts related with incidence of sexual violence, nature of sexual violence and perpetrators of this violence with 80 school students of West Tripura district, 40 from rural areas and 40 from urban areas. So many facts are revealed by confidential interview. The academic performance of the children who experienced sexual violence was found poor as compared to children who did not experienced the same. On the other hand, score of Beck Depression Inventory and Maslow's security insecurity Inventory also revealed that abused children have a greater level of depression and insecurity feeling than the children who did not experience the same.

Ritu Aggarwal

ABSTRACT :
The study seeked to explain the interactive as well as relative effects of selfefficacy on occupational stress of academic faculty of Panjab University, Chandigarh and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The sample was 131 and 112 academic faculties from Panjab University, Chandigarh and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The sample was obtained from seven faculties i.e. arts, science, computers, laws, pharmacy, languages and business management and commerce. The instruments used were Teacher Self-efficacy Scale and Occupational Stress Scale. The Occupational stress was measured by six scales namely role overload, role insufficiency, role ambiguity, role boundary, responsibilities and physical environment. Data analysis involved the use of Spearman's rank correlation and regression analysis to investigate the predictive capacity of independent variable on scales of occupational stress. The result indicates that self-efficacy is effective in predicting role insufficiency and role ambiguity incase of Panjab University, Chandigarh and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. On the basis of these findings, it is suggested that training workshops on self-efficacy will help the teachers to cope up with stress due to role insufficiency and role ambiguity.

Workplace Spirituality as a Predictor of Psychological Well-Being

*Santosh Kumar Sharma **Dr. Renu Rastogi

ABSTRACT :
The dawn of 21 century has heralded with the development of 'workplace spirituality' as a valuable construct among organizational and management researchers especially working in the emerging area of positive psychology, however, there is a dearth of empirical studies in this newly developing area. Realizing this empirical gap, the paper aims to examine the impact of workplace spirituality and its three dimensions (meaningful work, sense of community, and alignment of personal values with organizational values) on psychological wellbeing and its six dimensions in a sample of two hundred twenty four (224) Indian managers. Data has been collected through questionnaire based surveys. Correlation and regression analysis has been carried out. The findings divulge the fact that when employees experience spirituality at workplace, they feel autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relations with others, purpose in life and self-acceptance which in turn determine their psychological well-being.

Motivational Orientations in Relation to Academic Performance among Adolescents

Akanksha Tripathi

ABSTRACT
Psychological theory has traditionally been more concerned with intrinsic than extrinsic motivation, in attempts to explain behaviors such as exploration and challenge seeking, which has no clear external reinforcements. Conceptions of extrinsic motivation include orientations toward money, recognition, competition and the dictates of other people. Similarly, conceptions of intrinsic motivation include challenge, enjoyment, personal enrichment, interest and selfdetermination. Investigation into stable intrinsic and extrinsic orientations can have important consequences for psychological research. A great deal of social psychological research has documented striking differences in task performance between intrinsically and extrinsically motivated individuals. Therefore, the present investigation was aimed to study External and Internal Motivational orientation in relation to the academic performance among adolescents. For this purpose Motivational orientation was assessed by using Work preference Inventory by Amabile et al. (1994) and for academic performance, student's last year aggregate percentage was taken. The test was administered on 110 students (55 males and 55 females) in the age range of 18-21 years. Descriptive statistics and Correlational analysis was used to analyze the data. Results will be discussed.

Study of Anxiety among Adolescents: Across Age, Sex and Social Support Perspective
Ritu Sekhri

ABSTRACT :
Since Freud's conceptualization of anxiety neurosis in 1894 as a discrete clinical syndrome, anxiety has been measured within the context of psychological theory. Anxiety is viewed as an unpleasant emotional state which is characterized by subjective feelings of tension, apprehension and worry and by activation or arousal of the autonomic nervous system. In the context of the importance of anxiety in the modern era, the present study was designed to examine anxiety among adolescents in across age, gender and social support perspective. 100 males and 100 females belonging to early adolescence and mid-adolescence were administered IPAT Anxiety Scale Questionnaire and Sarason's Social Support Questionnaire. The study revealed: Male adolescents were higher on anxiety than female adolescents during the stage of early adolescence, 2. Early adolescents were higher on anxiety than mid-adolescents, 3. Adolescents receiving higher social support were less anxious than adolescents receiving low social support. The implications of these findings were discussed.
