1. Introduction Enterprise resource computing is about the development of an integrated enterprisewide information system. It integrates the information system of an organization and automates most of the business functions. A properly implemented ERP system can dramatically improve the efficiency and competitive advantage of an organization. The present day ERP solutions provide end-to-end functionalities for the entire value chain, linking multiple enterprises irrespective of country, location, language and business practice. 2. Objectives and scope The objective of this course is to introduce the theory and practice of enterprise resource computing, and to examine the business and managerial challenges involved in it. Evaluation Components: 1. Project (20%) The project involves in the analysis of the existing information management solution of a (your) company based on the learning from this course. The project is expected to identify the merits, limitations and risks of the existing information management scheme and propose strategies and solutions to meet the current and future challenges for the company (the topic to be finalized latest by 26th July, 2013). The project requires an interim report (deadline: 31st July 2013 in softcopy) and final report. This is a group project (of 4 members, total 15 groups). 9th August 2013 is the deadline for submitting the final report (in hard copy & softcopy - about 20 pages, ppts are not accepted as project reports).

2. Case Presentation (15%)


The given ERP case study is to be presented by every group (same group as above) for duration of 20 minutes (10 minutes for presenting the case facts and 10 minutes for discussion). Each case discussion is expected to give a true learning experience. The presentation slides need to be submitted (in two days advance). Three presentations each are scheduled on 27th July, 1st August, 3rd August, 8th August, and 10th August.

3. Quizzes (15%)
3 online quizzes (10 minutes duration) will be arranged to test students sharpness of understanding the subject (on 27th July, 3rd August, and 10th August).
