Issue 08 (2006-08-20)
The BSC is configured with idle E1 ports. The data to be configured is consistent and correct. You can add only one site to one BIE port in one operation. If the new TRXs are distributed on multiple chains, add TRXs or cells after adding the site. Adding a site also involves adding a cell. Perform Modify Cell Handover Parameter to configure the neighbor cell after adding the site.
Note
3.1.2 Procedure
Adding a Site Without Timeslot Manual Adjustment
Using an example, this part shows how to add a site without timeslot manual adjustment. Assume that you have to add Site2, and TRX 0, TRX 3, TRX 5, TRX 8, TRX 18, TRX 21 and TRX 24 in BM1 for two cells. The conditions of the example are as follows:
z
Cell1 includes TRX 0, TRX 5, TRX 18 and TRX 24; Cell2 includes TRX 3, TRX 8 and TRX 21. Cell1 and Cell2 are bi-directionally adjacent. No timeslot manual adjustment is required for the new site. The new site is connected to port0 of BIE0. The trunk mode is 2E1 port*15:1multiplexing/port.

Issue 08 (2006-08-20)
Block all the cells of the site to be deleted on the Site Maintenance System. This avoids call processing in the site during deletion. If the site has sub cascading sites, delete these sub sites. If the site to be deleted is not the level 1 site connected to the BIE port and the BIE port is in timeslot manual adjustment mode, change the BIE trunk mode of the site by implementing timeslot manual adjustment. After deleting a site, you need to delete the site icon on the OMC SHELL. When a site is deleted, all the cells connected to it will also be deleted.
Note
3.2.2 Procedure
Using an example, this part shows how to delete a site. Assume you have to delete Site2 in BM1. The conditions of the example are as follows:
z z
The BIE port of Site2 is in the timeslot manual adjustment mode. Site2 is the sub-site of Site0.
The procedure is as follows: Step 1 On the BSC Data Auto Configuration System, choose BTS > Delete a Site. The Delete a Site dialog box as shown in Figure 3-21 is displayed.
Issue 08 (2006-08-20)
3-21
If no site is selected or the site selected is not the last level site, the Next button in the Delete a Site dialog box is unavailable.
Step 3 Click Next. The Delete a Site dialog box is refreshed, as shown in Figure 3-22.
All the sites connected to the BIE port of the site to be deleted (Site2 in BM1) are listed in the Delete a Site dialog box as shown in Figure 3-22. If the connection is in multi-chain mode, all the sites of the main chain BIE port are listed. The site to be deleted is not listed.
3-22
Issue 08 (2006-08-20)
If the BIE port connected to the selected site is not in timeslot manual adjustment mode, the dynamic configuration dialog box instead of the timeslot manual adjustment dialog box will be displayed. The Idle Timeslot button is available if the selected site has idle timeslots.
Step 4 Select the last site in the list box, and then click Site trunk mode description in the Delete a Site dialog box. The Site Trunk Mode dialog box as shown in Figure 3-23 is displayed. You can manually change the site BIE trunk mode. For detailed information about the BIE trunk mode, see the M900/M1800 BSC Data Configuration Reference Engineering Parameters.

After a site is deleted, the adjacent relationship between cells under this site is also deleted. Therefore, the Configure handover data command must be sent to the adjacent cells for automatic update of the adjacent relationship.
3.2.3 Verification
After deleting the site, check that:
z z z
The maintenance of the deleted site is not available on the OMC SHELL. The system prompts the error site number. The OMLs and RSLs corresponding to the sites are released in the switching network boards.
Issue 08 (2006-08-20)

You can add TRXs to only one site of one BIE port in one operation. If you have to add TRXs to multiple sites of one BIE port or to multiple BIE ports of one site, add TRXs to one site of one BIE port first, and then repeat the steps to add the TRXs to more sites or ports. If the BIE port of the site is in timeslot manual adjustment mode, you also need to adjust the timeslot manually.
3.3.2 Procedure
Using an example, this part shows how to add TRXs to a site. Assume that you have to add TRXs 0 and 7 to Site0-1 and Site0-2 under Site0 in BM1. The BIE port of Site0 is in timeslot manual adjustment mode. The procedure is as follows: Step 1 On the BSC Data Auto Configuration System, choose BTS > Add TRX. The Add TRX dialog box as shown in Figure 3-26 is displayed.
3-26
Issue 08 (2006-08-20)
If no site is selected, the Next button in the Add TRX dialog box as shown in Figure 3-26 is unavailable.
Step 3 Click Next. The Add TRX dialog box as shown in Figure 3-27 is displayed.
Step 4 Select 1 TRX, and then click Add TRX to add it to the Installed TRX list box. Repeat the same steps to add 7 TRX to the Installed TRX list box.
The BIE the Site Belongs to drop-down list box and the Select Port option buttons are unavailable if the Installed TRX list already has TRXs.
Step 5 Click Next. The Add TRX dialog box is refreshed, as shown in Figure 3-28.

If the new TRXs change the intra-site transparent transmission relationship, for example, TRX 18 is added to site30 that earlier had only TRX 1 and TRX 4, you need to click Modify Site Property to configure the intra-site link. For details of intra-site link configuration, see section 3.1 "Adding a Site."
You cannot add or delete cells in the Add TRX dialog box as shown in Figure 3-28.
Step 6 Select Site0-1. Then click Modify Cell Property. The Assign TRX to Cell dialog box as shown in Figure 3-29 is displayed. You can click Modify CA to add frequencies to the cell.
3-28
Issue 08 (2006-08-20)
Step 7 Assign 1 TRX to Site0-1, and then double-click 1 TRX listed in the Assigned TRX box to assign frequencies to Site0-1. Repeat the same steps to assign 7 TRX and frequencies to Site0-2. Step 8 In the Assign TRX to Cell dialog box, click Complete & Exit to return to the Add TRX dialog box as shown in Figure 3-28.
You can click Modify Reserved Parameters to change the reserved parameters or retain the default value 65535. If no TRX is assigned to the cell, the Next button in the Add TRX dialog box is unavailable.
Step 9 Click Next in the Add TRX dialog box as shown in Figure 3-28. The Add TRX dialog box is refreshed, as shown in Figure 3-30.
Step 10 Select the added site from the list box. Click TRX Property, Site Trunk Mode Description, and BIE Port Property to configure the related properties. In the TRX Property dialog box, you can only change the TRX properties of the selected BIE port and site. Do not change the TRX properties of other BIE ports and sites. This principle is applicable to all dynamic configuration operations.
If the BIE port of the BIE where the TRXs reside is not in the timeslot manual adjustment mode, choose the dynamic configuration mode as described in section 3.1 "Adding a Site." For details of timeslot manual adjustment, see section 3.1 "Adding a Site."
