BATTLE AT THE PINES AT LOOK PARK

AUGUST 3rd &4TH 2013 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS


All Times Are Approximates

Friday August 2nd 1:00PM 8:00PM Re-enactor Registration Check In and camp set up for those that would like to arrive on Friday. Night Firing- Dusk- Cannon & Musket Volleys at Willow Brook Pond (Local TV coverage)

Saturday August 3rd Re-enactor Registration Check In 7-10 AM - All Camps open at 9:00AM
Company Drill-The infantry and the rifle musket Manual of Arms, Bayonet Drill, Formation of a company, Line of March to formation of a Battle Line. (Hourly at the Parade Ground starting at 9:00AM) Artillery Demonstration-Tools and Tactics- Artillery loading and firing as well as munitions used during the war. (Odd hours at the Parade Ground starting at 9:00AM) U.S. Naval Landing Party- Come and see what the Navy did to help quell the Rebellion. Howitzer and Landing Maneuvers as well as period music of the sea. (Hourly starting at 10:00AM across from Pedal Boats) Medicine and Surgery of the Civil War - Surgical Procedures and medical instruments of the time. (Even hour Presentations starting at 10:00AM at the Union Camp 32nd Mass Hospital near the Gazebo) Camp Unity- See the latest fashions and socialize with the Ladies of 1863. Refreshments available in a picnic type venue. Fashion Show and Afternoon Tea 2:00PM to 4:00PM at the Pines Theater.

Engagements
The Great Train Robbery- Confederates stop and rob the train (Even hours starting at 10:00AM) The Skirmish for Potato Island- Union Troops Confront the Confederates at the Bridge (Odd hours starting at 9:00 AM) The Pines Cotillion at the Theater-Come and participate in an actual recreation of a period cotillion with period musicians and called dancing. Period attire suggested but not required. Registered Reenactors free of charge. Public is invited at $5 per person. Refreshments Available. (7:00PM -10PM at the Pines Theater)

Sunday August 4th, 2013 Battle at the Pines


Church Service 9:00AM- Johnny Reb and Billy Yank pray for a quick end to this war. Come and pray with us. (Sanctuary Chapel at Willow Pond) Battalion Formation and Dress Parade- 10:30AM - Come watch as both the Union and Confederate gather for Presentation of the Colors and weapons inspection. (Parade Ground) The Assault at the Wall- 11:30AM- Troop Train delivers Billy Yank to form a Battle Line, pouring musket volleys toward Johnny Reb, to route them from their fortified position, close range musketry fire, Confederate snipers and a bayonet charge. (Pines Theater) Camp Unity - 1:00PM Period Fashion Show-Ladies fashions of the 1860s will be on display as well as cooking and sewing demonstrations going on periodically. (Pines Theater) Battle at the Pines- 2:30PM Watch and listen as the battle scene unfolds with musketry, cannon fire and chaos. Come and watch as history will repeat itself and many a good man will fall for what he believes will be the last great battle. (Parade Ground) Prepare to Break Ranks- 4:00PM the event is concluded. Have a safe journey home.
