Scripture reading: Genesis 1:28; Revelation 22:35; 1 Corinthians 15:2428.

This is the disciple who testifies of these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his testimonyistrue.John21:24 God'sBurden This time we want to share with you about the burden the Lord has given tous, which isrelated with the ministry of Apostle John in his maturity. All of us need to be clear about the matter of the ministry. A ministry is a service according the commission that we have received. It is to fulfill Godseternalplan.WhenwecometotheScriptures, to the entire Bible, we can see that God has a ministry. The ministry of God is to establish His kingdom on this earth. All creation is according to thispurpose(Genesis1:28). Also, we have the Bible, which is Gods speaking. Through Gods speaking we can see how God will fulfill His plan. The goal of Gods plan is to establish the kingdom of God on this earth. The

completion of this plan is the New Jerusalem; the New Jerusalem is the completion of the kingdom of God(Revelation22:35;1Corinthians15:2428). To complete this plan God needed time. TimeisrelatedtoGodswork.Itisforthepurposeof fulfilling this plan. Regarding time, there are two ages:theOldTestamentageandtheNewTestament age. During the Old Testament age God worked to fulfill His plan, and He is working in the New Testament age. This is the ministry. God gave His ministrytomansothatmancanfulfillGodsplan. Scripture reading: Acts2:3436; Hebrews 8: 12; Matthew 28:19; Acts1:8;Acts8:1;Matthew16:19

Now this is the main point of the things we are saying:WehavesuchaHighPriest, whoisseatedat the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,aMinisterofthesanctuaryandofthetrue tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man. Hebrews8:12 TheLordJesus'sMinistry The New Testament is the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is accomplished in four sections. The first section of His ministry is during His incarnation. God became a man and this man was JesusChrist.Hewasaperfectmanandthecomplete God. He fulfilled the first portion of His ministry duringHisincarnation, fromthetimeofhisbirthuntil Hisdeath.Weseethisinthegospels:Mathew,Mark, Luke and John. This is during the Lord's incarnation. After His death He resurrected and initiated the secondportionofhisministry.

After the Lord's death and resurrection, we have the second portion of His ministry. In the book ofActstheLordbecametheLordandtheChrist(Acts 2:3436).Hewas exalted and God designated Himas Lord and Christ. Now His ministry comes from the right hand of God (Hebrews 8:12). It is through the church.AfterHisresurrection,Hisministryisthrough theSpirittheSpiritofreality.Heisattherighthand of God, and at the same time He is in us. Christ is withinus, ministeringthroughus. DuringthesecondsectionofHisministry, the Lord used His apostles to serve Him by bringing in Gods speaking. During the time of the church in JerusalemundertheleadingoftheApostlePeter,we havetheministryofthe twelveapostles.Inthebook of Acts, from chapter two to chapter eight we see this. In chapter eight persecution came against the churchinJerusalem. The Lord had told his disciples to disciple all the nations, baptizing them and teaching them (Matthew 28:19). They would remain in Jerusalem untilthetimetheywouldreceivetheHolySpirit, and then they would be witnesses from Jerusalem to Judea and Samaria and unto the uttermost part of theearth(Acts1:8).Thisreferstothepropagationof

the gospel, from Jerusalem to Judea and Samaria whichwereregionsclosesttoJerusalemthentothe Gentile world beyond the borders of Israel. The apostlesreceivedthiscommission. Acts chapter eight presents the propagation of the gospel from Jerusalem to Judea and Samaria through persecution. Persecution came against the churchinJerusalem, andthediscipleswerescattered (Acts 8:1). Wherever they went they preached the gospel. We can say that this was the continuation of the ministry. What was the result of the ministry? It was the churches. What is the church? The church is the kingdom of God. The ministry is for the kingdom and the way of the kingdom is the church. The kingdom can come through the church (Matthew 16:19). Keyword:ThechurchistheKingdomofGod Yourkeyword: Question: What is the purpose of God to the Churches?

Then in chapter ten the gospel reached the Gentiles for the first time. GodusedApostlePeterforthis(Acts10:4548). In chapter eleven, after the gospel reached the Gentiles, the Jews reacted negatively. Their reaction was not positive (Acts 11:13, 19). They did not agree with propagating the gospel to the Gentiles. No! They reacted negatively. However, the Lord prepared a group of people to propagate the gospelamongtheGentiles. Thistimeitwasnotfrom Jerusalem. God chose Antioch to propagate the gospeltotheGentiles(Acts13:13).
8

In chapter thirteen we see Paul's ministry taking the lead to propagate the gospel. We do not see the twelve apostles any more. We cannot say that they were not serving, but it was not recorded. We do see Paul's ministry. He took the lead in the matter of the word and the work to propagate the gospelamongtheGentiles. The first stage was the stage of the twelve apostles, and the second stage was the stage of Paulsministry. After the book of Acts we have Paul's epistles, which present his vision and his understanding of the practice of the church at that time.WecanseePaul'svisionandthepracticeofthe church. What is the reason thatPeterpresentedhisepistles?BythistimePeters portion was not the same as it was in the beginning. This portion came after he had matured. Why is his ministry part of the Scriptures? His ministry concludesPaul'sheavenlyvision. Someone needed to say that Paul's epistles came from a heavenly revelation. Paul said that he had received the ministry from the Lord. He said, I

Who can bea specialist in Gods speaking? It has to be someone who was following the Lord. For example, wearebelieversandweaccepttheBibleas the word of God. Why do we accept it? We accept it because the apostles accepted it, and the fathers of thechurchacceptedit. At that time, who was qualified to say: the Apostle Paul is speaking from the Spirit? Who could say this? Peter could say this. Peter said that the epistlesofPaulcamefromtheSpirit(2Peter3:1516)

For example, there is the matter of the salvationofoursoul. The New Testament presents very important points concerning Gods plan. One point is the redemption of Christ. All Christians agree about this. Christ is the Lamb of God. He died for us to bring us backtoGod.WhenwebelieveinHimwereceivethe

forgiveness of sins and we are reconciled to God by the blood of Jesus. This is a revelation in the New Testament(Romans3:2324,5:10;1Peter1:1819). Another revelation is regeneration. The New Covenant includes not only the forgiveness of sins but alsothe giftofthe HolySpirit. What is thegift of theHolySpirit?Itisthedivinelife.Wehaveahuman life, and when we believe in Jesus we receive the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit, which is the divine life. This makes us children of God. This is the result of regeneration, which is through the resurrection of Jesus. He resurrected fromthedead, andthroughHisresurrectionwehave been regenerated. We have received the life of God. PraisetheLord!Thisisthesecondgreatrevelationin the New Testament (Romans 6:45, 8:16; 1 Peter 1:3). The third revelation is concerning the salvation of our soul. After we are regenerated we still need our soul to be saved. Has our soul been saved?Thisisverydifficulttoanswer.WhatdidPeter say?Hesaid,Theendofourfaithisthe salvationof our soul (1 Peter 1:9). Paul's ministry is mainly focused on the salvation of oursoulbythedivinelife.Oursoulneedstobesaved through the renewing of our mind. This is transformation(Romans12:12). Another revelation is the consummation of Gods plan. This consummation has two steps: the consummation of the age, which is the millennium; and the final consummation, which is the eternal consummation;thisistheNewJerusalem, whichisin eternity future. If our soul is saved now, we will receive a reward atthe consummation oftheage. (2 Corinthians5:10;1Peter1:4).Ifoursoulisnotsaved now, we will receive discipline at the consummation of the age. However, in the New Jerusalem all the believers, alltheredeemed, willbethere. We need our soul to be saved. We have two opportunities to have our soul saved: now or in the millennium. As a believer, if it is saved now, we will receive a reward in the millennium. But, if it is not saved now, we will receive discipline in the millennium. This refersto the discipline of the house of God: God disciplines those He loves (Hebrews 12:6; 1 Peter 4:17). It is different for unbelievers.

Scripture reading: 1 Peter 1:67; 2 Peter 1:4,8,11; 1Corinthians 3:1314;2Peter3:1114.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being muchmorepreciousthangoldthatperishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,... 1 Peter1:67 ImportantPointsonPeter'sMinistry Peter spoke about the salvation of our soul as something difficult to understand. He also spoke aboutsufferings. The matter of suffering is difficult to understand. Many preachers have said, If you believeinChrist, youwillnotsufferanymore.Isthis true? Are we believers? Do we have Christ? We are believers.Arewesuffering?IhaveChristbutIamstill suffering. What can I do now? Do I need to receive more of Christ? Of course I need to receive more of Christ. However, it does not mean that I will not

When the fire comes in the way of suffering, wearepurified.Purificationisforthesalvationofour soul (1 Peter 1:67). Is this suffering necessary? Of courseitisnecessary. We know very well from ourexperience that it is necessary. If we do not suffer, we forget about God. If we do not suffer, when we look at ourselves we will not see that we are full of sins, that our inward situation is not good. However, when suffering comes, it brings us back to God: We say, OhLord,Ineedyou!Bewithme!OLord,Ineedyou. Ineedyouformyfamily.Ineedyoufortheministry. So we see that Peter spoke about the matter of suffering. Peteralsospokeaboutourentrance into the kingdomandthematterofthegrowthoflife(2Peter 1:4,8,11). When Paul spoke about the entrance into the kingdom of heaven, it refers to receiving the inheritance. Paul spoke about our work. He said that our work would be tested by fire. If our work is approved, wewillreceiveareward;butifourworkis consumed, we will suffer loss. He was talking about

If our person isnotapproved, wewillnotinheritthekingdom. Not only our work needs to be tested, but our person alsoneedstobetested.Ourlivingneedstobetested by God. So Peter presented the matter of our living. Our life needs to be approved by God if we want to receivethereward(2Peter3:1114). ThisisPeter's ministry. The words that I speak to you are spirit, andtheyarelife.John6:63 John'sMinistry Some years later, after Peter died, we have the last ministry, the ministry of Apostle John in his maturity. What was the condition of the church at that time? The church needed help; it needed to be adjusted, to have its problems solved. This is to mend the net. John's ministry is to mend the net. Scripture reading: Ezekiel 28:14; Isaiah 14:1213; Daniel 10:13; Jude9;Revelation12:34;2Corinthians4:4;Ephesians1:21;Luke 8:3033

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darknesswasonthefaceofthedeep.AndtheSpirit ofGodwashoveringoverthefaceofthewaters. Genesis1:12 TheAngelicalMinistry We would like to say something about the Old Testament. We want to see the ministries and the generations in the Old Testament. This has been written to help us to be clear about our situation in order for us to correct our mistakes. In every generation there was someone who took the lead in the word. In order to reveal the revelation, the Lord has chosen some vessels. They are able to present God'swilltous. We have many generations in the Old Testament.TherewasagenerationbeforeAdam.We callthisthepreAdamicgeneration.Itwasineternity past, before there was time. We have no idea about
24

time then. But, we do find ministry there, we find service.Whowasinchargeofthisservice?Itwasthe archangels, thearchangelsofthecherubim. We are aware of at least three archangels: Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer. We also know that Lucifer rebelled against God and became Satan. He had a commission; he had a ministry (Ezekiel 28:14). We have some understanding of the ministry before AdamfromtherecordintheOldTestament inIsaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28. We can realize that the ministry was related to the earth at that time. Lucifer was a cherub used for guarding. He guarded Eden (Ezekiel 28:13), and Eden was on the earth. We can say that Luciferwasinchargeoftheserviceontheearth. This wasbeforeAdam, beforethecreationofman. However, Lucifer exalted himself; he wanted tobegreaterthanhewas.InIsaiah14itsaysthathe wanted to ascend (Isaiah 14:1213). He wanted to ascend because he was on earth. If he were in the heavens he would have said that he wanted to descend. But,hewanted togo higher andhigher. He wanted to exalt himself above the heights of the clouds, to the heavens. This implies that it is very possible that Lucifer was in charge of the service on theearth.
25

WhenwereadaboutMichaelhewasfighting inheaven(Daniel10:13;Jude9).Itispossiblethathe was in charge of heaven with angels under his leadership. We also know that Gabriel was in charge of bringing messages (Daniel 8:16; Luke 1:2628). He received messages and he gave messages. He may have been in charge of transportation, connecting heaven with the earth. We may have this understanding; it is not far fetched, it is not an imagination. We understand that they had a commission. Satan rebelled against God and one third of the angels followed him (Revelation 12:34). This shows us that it is possible that one third of the angelswerewithMichael, onethirdwithGabriel, and one third with Lucifer. When Lucifer rebelled against God, all the angels under his leadership followed him. Since he was serving on earth, the original inhabitantsofearthfollowedhim. Thenwhathappened? Godjudgedtheearth, and the earth became empty, under darkness and underwater(Genesis1:2).Therewereevilspiritsand thereweredemons.Thisisthekingdom ofdarkness: Satan, the fallen angels and the demons (2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 1:21; Luke 8:3033). The
26

demons were part of the original inhabitants of the earth which were judged by God. They lost their bodies. They became spirits without bodies. The angels are different from the demons; they have a spiritual body. One third of the angels followed Lucifer, and they became part of the kingdom of darkness. This is the background of the creation of man. WhenGodcreatedmanhecreatedhimtobe one with God. God told him to be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and have dominion over the earth to establishthekingdomofGodonearthbysubduingit (Genesis 1:28). Subduing what? Man had to subdue thekingdomofdarknesswithSatan, thefallenangels and the demons. Man was created to fight against the kingdom of darkness. But man needs something to fight against the kingdom of darkness: man needs God. Without God, how can man fight against the kingdom ofdarkness?Whatcanmando?Hetried to fight against the kingdom of darkness without God and what was the result? By it we can be recovered to Gods presence. Praise the Lord for Abel! In Abel we can see the blood of God preparing our recovery to His presencethroughChrist. What can we do without God? We can do nothing. Without God we are full of Satan. We cannot fight against Satan if we are separated from God. But we have a problem with God sin. We are sinners. Abel, Enoch and Noah are presented in Hebrews chapter 11. In the first two thousand years of human history, only these three men were mentioned by God, from whom we can learn something. Although Isaac inherited everything from Abraham (Genesis 25:5), a transformation was still necessary. Isaacs soul needed to be transformed. ThuswehaveJacob. Jacob was a supplanter (Genesis 25:26). This is Israel: Israel is a prince of God. Who is Israel? Israel is Jacob after transformation.

Jacob was transformed in his uncles house (Genesis 31:4142). He went there and suffered for twenty years. When he left, God found him and changed his name: You are no longer Jacob now you are Israel (Genesis 32:28). What does Israel mean? It means a prince of God. These four great visions are the content of the book of Revelation and became the basis of the ministry of the Apostle John in his maturity. According to the historyofthechurch, afterreceivingthesefourgreat visions, John left the Island of Patmos and went to Ephesus. There he completed his ministry, and this ministry we call the ministry of the Apostle John in his maturity. The Gospel of John and his three epistles are the content of the ministry of Apostle Johninhismaturity. Why did the Lord call him in his maturity? John had two main responsibilities. The first was relatedtomendingthenet.Ithinkallofushaveread theBible, andweknowtheexperienceofJohnwhen he was initially called by the Lord. He was with his brother, and they were mending nets (Matthew

4:2122). This is the first aspect of his ministry. To mend the net is to cover a hole, to repair problems, to adjust the situation. This is why it is important for us to realize our mistakes, our failures. We are like vessels.Ifwehaveholesinavesselandweputwater into it, the water, the content, will not remain there because of the holes. A net is to catch fish. We can fish, but if there is a hole in the net, the fish do not remain. We do not need many holes. If there is one holewithenough spacefor onefishto pass through, all the fish will escape. If we have a hole in a fence thatisbigenoughforonecowtopassthrough, when we go to look for the cattle, we will not find them. Since the fence has a hole, all the cattle will get away. This shows us how important it is to cover, to repair, the holes. This is the portion of the Apostle John. Keyword:Tobemended. Yourkeyword: Question:Howcanwetobemended?

Jesus said to him, 'If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me. John 21:22 TheSecondAspectofJohn'sMinistry: CompletingtheWork The other aspect of the ministry of the Apostle John in his maturity is related to what the LordsaidaboutJohn.TheLordtoldtheApostlePeter that the time would come when someone would bind his hands, and he would go to a place that he didnotwanttogoto(John21:18).TheLordsaidthis concerning Peters death (v.19). He would probably be arrested. Nobody wants to be arrested, but this didhappentoPeter.Hewasarrestedandhewasput intoprison. After the Lord revealed this to Peter, Peter looked at John and asked the Lord, What about him? (v.21). He did not call John by his name. He asked, What about him? What about this one? If you consider someone as your fellow worker, you

would not call him this one. You would call him by hisname.Forexample, ifsomeoneconsidersbrother A as a fellow worker, he would not ask brother B, What about this one? Nor would he say, Brother B,areyougoingtotravel?Whataboutthisone? He would not say this because brother A is his fellow worker. If we call someone this one it means that we do not consider that person very much. It is very possible that because John was so young he was like a boy, just a bit bigger than a boy he was not considered to have a name. But the Lord answered, If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?(v.22). This point is important. Even the disciples startedtosay,Oh,thisonewillnotdie!Itellyou,if someone will not die, I would like to be with him. If we are going to travel, it is better to travel with someone who will not die. If we are going to travel byplane, andifbrotherJohnwillnotdie,Iwanttogo in his plane. When he enters into a bus, I will enter withhim.Sinceweknowthathewillnotdie, thisbus will be fine. We simply repent, believe, confess that we are sinners, call on the name of the Lord, freely receive the forgiveness of sins by the blood of Jesus, and receive the divine life. We can refer to the generation of Adam and the generation of Noah. Why can we separate the generation of Adam from the generation of Noah? This is possible because of the flood that came and finished theline. Onlythe family of Noah survived. It wasanewbeginning(Genesis7:1). Then we have the generation of Noah until the kingdom of Nimrod. Noah was in charge of establishing the kingdomofGod,but the kingdom of Goddidnotcome.Whatkind ofkingdom came? The kingdom of Nimrod. This was not the seed of God, but rather the seed of Babel; the tower of Babel.

After this we have the generation of the conquerors. We need an army with Moses, Aaron and Joshua to prepare us. Do you realize that we need to be an army? To preach the gospel, we need to be an army. The church needs to be an army (1 Timothy 1:18; 2 Timothy 2:34). How can we be an army? The Lord needs to establish a leadership, a proper leadership with spiritual vision and the leading of the word. The leader must be someone who is very clearabout where he is going. Imagine if Moses did not know what to do and was not clear about where to go. The people would ask Moses, Where are we going? He would answer, I dont

But, praise the Lord that Moses received a vision, and he knew what he was doing. He was building a tabernacle through which God would speak to His people and lead them to the good land (Hebrews 3:5). This is a proper leadership. Aaron knew how to educate the people, and Joshua was prepared to take the leadtodefeat the enemy. They establishedthekingdom,andtheytookpossessionof theland(Joshua11:23).PraisetheLord! Then the time of the judges and the kings came. What do we find? At least there were the builders. Samuel anointed King Saul, but Saul was disqualified because he was fleshly, and the Lord replacedhimwithDavid(1Samuel15:2223,28). David had a heart that was according Gods heart (Acts 13:22). He received revelation; he prepared the material; he propagated the kingdom;
86

he prepared everything. But, when the time came to buildthehousetheLord, theLordstoppedhim:You cannot build My house because you have shed too much blood. He was very violent. Do you realize that if we are violent we cannot build the house of God? We need to be transformed from David to Solomon(Acts7:4647).OhLordJesus! We need to be peaceful and harmonize situations. Let us look at an example: When we receive some bad news,we become very violent. Oh Lord Jesus! We become angry, especially if we have good reason to. We may think: I am right this is unrighteous! Then we become like David: I will kill these people. I will judge them now. But this is not the time to kill people; this is the time to build the house. We need to go to the Lord; Oh Lord! Help me; give me wisdom to harmonize to be inclusive, to receive people for the building up of the house of God.OhLordJesus! ThisistobelikeSolomonandtousewisdom, Gods wisdom for Gods sake (James 3:13). Yes, we need to have a heart for the Lord, but if we want to build the house we need to learn to deny ourselves, include people and trust in the Lord. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our LordJesusChrist.1Thessalonians5:23 TheCompleteHealing The Lord healed every kind of disease and sickness. Because man is fallen, we have different kinds of diseases and sicknesses. There are three kinds: sickness of the body, of the soul and of the spirit. Mathewchapterfourverse24says:Andthe reportconcerning Himwent out into allof Syria;and they brought to Him all who were ill, those afflicted with various diseases and torments and those possessed by demons and epileptics and paralytics; and He healed them. Here we see three kinds of problems. Onehasmany demons.Thisis one kind of problem. If someone is involved with a curse, witchcraft, he will become filled with demons; the
95

demons will take possession of him. He will lose the ability to make decisions because he is demon possessed. Why did he become demon possessed? Its because he is involved with a curse, witchcraft, andevilspirits.Theresultofthisinvolvementistobe demonpossessed. Another problem is to be crazy (another translationsayslunatic). Thisisnotaproblem with demons; it is a problem in the mind. It is not demon possession; it is a disease of the mind. If you try to cast demons out of someone who has a disease in their mind, they will become worse. They will probably not allow a believer to approach them anymore because of their very bad experience. It is one problem to be demon processed, and it is another problem to be crazy. This is a mental problem;itisadisease. Today we have many different kinds of mental diseases which are not demon possessions. However, the Lord healed all kinds of diseases. Sometimes someone wants to cast demons out of a person who has a mental problem. Many people today want to do this. There are many people who do not sleep well and someone may come and say that that person has a problem with demons. This is
96

not a problem of demons it is a problem of the mind. The Lord can heal them, but it does not mean it is a case of demon possession. The Lord said that there are different problems. We, as the generation of Jesus Christ, have been charged with healing everyone with the Lord Himself, by bringing them to theShepherd, totheflock, andtofollowtheLord. Anotherpersonhadaproblemwithhisbody; he could not walk, he was a paralytic. This is a problem in the body. Not all problems related to diseases are demon possessions. Who said this? The Lord Jesus said it. But the Lord can heal everyone He is the solution. The generation of Jesus Christ came to bring us back to God, to heal us fully in our spirit, our body and our soul through the Word of God and by bringing us to the proper church life (1 Thessalonians 5:23). The vision concerning Christ. Who in the New Testament presents Christ to us in a clear way? The Apostle Paul. In Second Corinthians Paul said, If you know Christ according totheflesh, this issomething of the past. I know Christ according to the Spirit (2 Corinthians 6:1617) We need to know Christ according the Spirit. Paul advanced more than the others.
