Name of the School Observed: Sigaboy Central Elementary School School Adress: Poblacion Governor Generoso Davao Oriental Date of Visit: June 27, 2013

1. Describe the school community you have visited in terms of its location (whether it is within the residential, commercial, or agricultural area). The school that I was visited is near in the highway. So, it is risky for the students because a numbers of cars pass by. In addition, the school has enough ground and has numbers of kiosks for relaxation. And the school is near in the residential area. So far, the location of the school is suitable and it is conducive to learning.

2. What impression do you have of the offices that you passed by? So far, I can say that the offices are clean and proper. Also, their classrooms are clean and tidy before and after classes. They have the modern technologies in their offices such as computers, projector and TV. Lastly, I really like the setting of their offices. 3. Go around the school, and observe the facilities such as the library, the canteen and science laboratory. Describe whether these facilities are still functional. All facilities in the school canteen are functional. They use it every day such as tables and chairs, faucet, trash can and menu board. The school library is functional because it is intended for the students in reading and researching. Lastly, the science laboratory also functions. There are a lot of tools inside that actively function that are use for experiment and laboratory.

Description
Of course, lots of books are there. And there is an alphabet with its corresponding words in each letters. Also, there is a painting on the wall in which it adds attraction. Lastly, the school library is clean and well arranged. I like the setting and arrangement of the guidance office. Many school papers and documents are there and some of it is posted such as Guidance Activities, Enrollment Profile, Nutritional Status, NAT result, Achievement, and Performance Indicators. There are also lesson plans, form 137, certificates and trophies. In addition, there is computer, printer, and photocopier machine. It occupies enough space and it is proper and tidy. The school canteen is open air. It has clean and well-maintained environment. It is air conditioned. It has sufficient space. Also, it is neat and proper. As expected, there are medicine and first aid cabinet, 3 weighing scale, height meter, bed, comfort room and trash can. It occupies small space. No other things could be seen in the media c enter except the TV and DVD player. It is very clean and has a simple setting. Clean and proper Also, it is clean. It has utensils found in there. The toilets are clean, obviously maintained. All facilities found are functional such as the faucet, bowl, and basin. It is not totally clean. I think it seldom cleans because there is sticky dirt.

My Reflections

1. Can you consider the school environment you just observed conducive to learning? Why? Why not? All I can say of the school that I had been observed is conducive to learning because it has a good and suitable environment and has a good setting of their environmental facilities. Lastly, they have all the skilled and efficient teachers that could mold each student to competency.

2. What are the characteristics of a classroom that is conducive to learning? Clean and Properly Has a maximum of 30 students Has more classroom facilities Should have all the classroom facilities are functional The classroom setting is presentable to the elementary learners

Give your insights about your observations.

Indeed, observation is really a part of the field. It is an observation of what really a certain things are. So, as a student it plays a big role on me the fact that I was going connected with the school that I had been observed last week. In addition, as a BEED student it is the foundation of being aware of what is really the setting of the elementary school is. Furthermore, it gives me an awareness of such school from the school facilities, classroom facilities and the school environment.

Conclusion
I conclude that through observation we students will gain an awareness of the school environment that weve observed. What we have observed will be our basis and frame of reference someday in the field of teaching. In terms of the school, I conclude that Sigaboy Central Elementary School is competitive the fact that they got high records in examinations. Their school and classroom facilities are partner of teachers and students in the field of learning towards competency.

There is 1 pocket chart. It is place in the board when the teacher has introduced new words to the students. It is functional It is located beside the blackboard. It is well arranged and also functional Located in the left side near in the lavatory. It is properly arranged. It is place on the wall. The students just look at it to know the activities in the school. It is in a good condition Also, It is place on the wall. The students responsibility posted in there. It is neat and orderly.
