Dear Friend,
So many times in Network Marketing, I see distributors who are searching for that runner the one big heavy hitter who will recruit thousands into their downline. Its true that this does happen occasionally, and throughout the course of building your business you WILL recruit some key leaders who, through their efforts, will increase their commission checks. However, many distributors sit around waiting for this person to show up. They sit on each new person on their team like a golden egg, waiting for them to hatch. They hope with all their might that this new person will become that runner theyve been searching for. Then they get frustrated when the person up and quits in the first 60 days. This report is about something different. Its about helping YOU to become the runner youre searching for. I guarantee you that if you become that heavy-hitter; youll attract more heavy-hitters along the way. Thats just the way this thing works. So, lets get started! The following articles have been taken from my blog and while this isnt fresh content I wrote this week, its still incredibly relevant. And, unless youve spent days reading through every post on the blog for the last 3+ yearschances are, you never even knew this helpful information was on my site. Well, now you do. Use it. Apply it to your business. And be the heavy-hitter youre hoping to recruit. Be THAT person for yourself, your family and your future!
Enjoy!
Ive explained this because I feel many people in network marketing are forwarding the observable that theyve not had immediate success therefore they continue to fail at it. When people start network marketing they will very often test if theyre good or not and then DECIDE IF THEYRE GOOD BASED ON THE IMMEDIATE PROOF. This in my opinion only leads to failure. The correct approach would be that they DECIDE TO SUCCEED IN NETWORK MARKETING. PERIOD. The most healthy thing to do is to disregard the proof because the proof isnt the goal!! Its just evidence that you need better training or more practice. So with that thought in mind, let me answer Franks question. Frank, the way you start over is to go back to your original goal and start THAT over but dont carry your failure with you. Really start new. When you start new think in terms of what you need to get good at. In baseball, there are three broad subjects one must get good at; throwing the ball, catching the ball and hitting the ball. In network marketing there are also three broad subjects one must get good at; inviting, presenting and training. The things that you fail at are not failures at all they are simply identification points of where you need to improve. If in playing baseball I strike out, I can determine that Im not good at baseball or I can use that as an identification point of an area I need to improve at which is hitting the baseball. There is a tool called Pocket Tracker that I created to determine the identification points in the activity of network marketing. It is a list in sequence of what I and you need to do every day. If you cant get past, lets say, step 4 in the sequence, that identifies the specific area you need to improve on. Keep doing that step until you can do it well and can consistently get through the whole sequence. So that was step one of starting over, which is really getting YOU started over. Step two is to decide whether you want to try to reactivate your old downline or not. Whether you can succeed at resurrecting the dead or not is dependent on everything Ive written above FOR EACH PERSON. Everyone who is no longer active in your downline has simply determined that theyre not good at it. But before you contact them, I would recommend that you make sure youve fixed whatever it was about your training that caused people to fail. You can succeed at bringing some of them back in but you can only do so by offering something new to them. I recommend that something new be training that really works.
Summary of how to start over: 1. Create a new goal for your network marketing business. Not just mentally or on paper, but REALLY start new. DROP THE PAST. If you really dropped the past you would not have fear of contacting prospects. ;) 2. Identify the specific area(s) you need to get good at by following the step by step sequence as given in Pocket Tracker. 3. Once you have gotten good at each area of the business, contact those people who are no longer active and do the Inviting Formula with them to determine what they need/want. This will be slightly different than a prospecting call because now you need to find out what they need/want as it pertains to training. 4. Deliver to them what they need to succeed. By doing so, you will succeed.
question Im going to give you some things you can do right now to get the people you sponsor started correctly. The way Im going to answer this question is in two parts. To start with, Im going to give you the explanation and an assignment in part one , and then Ill give you the second part in the next section. The very first thing you should do is make sure YOU have started correctly. Here are the steps you should check off when you complete them: 1. USE YOUR OWN PRODUCTS OR SERVICE As Ive mentioned once before, I was recently out to dinner and asked a waiter about a particular item on the menu and he said, I havent tried that. Now, what good is the waiter to me? None. Remember, Network Marketing is a method to distribute a product to a consumer. You are the liaison (a communicator between two people) between your companys product and a customer. How can you be of value to a prospect if you dont use the products you sell? You cant. 2. DECIDE EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE WITH THE BUSINESS Success is not an accident, it is a created outcome. Failure is also a created outcome. An unclear direction leads to no success / no failure. How can one succeed or fail at something theyve never decided to do? In essence it is the effort to create nothing; the result is irrecoverable time. So decide and write down exactly what you want to achieve. 3. WRITE OUT YOUR PLAN OF HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE WHAT YOU DECIDED From step 2 you wrote what you want to achieve, now write a plan on how you will achieve it. I recommend you create this plan from the 13 activities that create income and success in network marketing. I was completely lost in the business until I identified and mastered these 13 activities. Take each of the activities and work that activity into your daily plan. Example of Daily Plan: Utilizing purchased leads and newspaper advertisements I will generate 50 leads per week. I will call them and use the Inviting Formula to determine if they qualify for my product. If so I will ensure they get results on the products. NOTE: The 13 activities are not meant to be a sequential training system theyre meant to be a sequential coaching method. The reason I point this out is because if you followed this as a training system for new people, you would be training a
person how to generate leads (activities 3 -7) BEFORE you teach them how to invite (which is activity #9, Set Appointments). Teaching them how to invite may take a little time and the leads generated would lay dormant until your newly sponsored person is done with their inviting training. Also, Ive found that only when a person is confident in their ability to invite are they effective at generating leads. If you try to get a person whos not good at inviting to make a list of names or try to get them to run ads, theyll find every excuse under the sun to not do it. But if a person is very confident in their ability to invite a prospect they are highly creative and effective at finding prospects. 4. LEARN TO INVITE YOUR PROSPECT USING THE INVITING FORMULA Inviting your prospect is your ability to ask your prospect to look at your companys product or business. Obviously this is an ongoing mastery and one should not wait until theyve fully mastered it before they start doing it as true mastery can only come from doing! This would be equivalent to someone attempting to master being a parent before they have children. My recommendation is to listen to Professional Inviter two times through. Then use the Inviting Formula with people in your life not necessarily to recruit anyone, just use it to communicate with your spouse, your children, your parents, people at work, neighbors, etc. Then role play with your sponsor if theyre still in the business if not, find someone else. Buy some inexpensive leads and follow the Inviting Formula exactly as youve heard me do it on the live calls. Dont expect much (or any) financial return; youre doing this for training purposes. Dont focus on trying to sell just focus on listening to the prospect and determining what they really need/want. If the only thing you achieve is to have a positive conversation with someone, consider it a success. If youve yet to get Professional Inviter, get it here 5. USE THE 13 ACTIVITIES TO POINT OUT WHAT YOU NEED TO WORK ON The 13 activities are in the correct sequence for coaching an already existing distributor (including yourself). Start at activity #1 and do it, then go to activity #2 and so on. This is of course assuming youve completed the above step LEARN TO INVITE YOUR PROSPECT USING THE INVITING FORMULA. Whatever you cant do is what you need to learn how to do. Normally, the real sticking point is activity #9 set appointments. This is why I covered it so thoroughly in step four. YOUR ASSIGNMENT:
Please get this inexpensive redesigned version of the 13 Activities and do the above assignment. There are several steps that I walk you through in the included CD. I think it will make a lot of sense to you.
8-10. Communication Inviting and presenting to prospects 11-13. Results Products sold, distributors/reps sponsored and trained. Logically, if a person isnt getting any results from steps 11-13, something didnt go right in steps 8-10. And, if a person didnt do steps 8-10 it was because the person also didnt do steps 3-7 or didnt do them correctly. To be a great coach you must coach the right thing! If your car wont start and you call a mechanic and he comes out and changes your old windshield wiper blades yes he fixed something, but not the right thing to make the car start! A coach is only valuable if they can identify the real problem and correct it. The way you identify the real problem is to locate in the right sequence what your downline cant do using the 13 activities. If your distributor cant get results (activities 11-13), you must look earlier to find THE FIRST STEP THEY COULDNT DO.
Thank you for your question Stacy. I understand it well. If you dont already have it, I suggest you get a copy of my free report, How to Build a Huge M.L.M Business Working Part-Time at this link: http://www.firstclassmlmtools.com/freereport You see, I know your situation quite well as I started part-time while I was in the Navy. In addition to what is in that report, Im going to give you an extra way to view your business; next Ill give you a game plan and will conclude with how to fit it all in your day. Probably before you joined your M.L.M business your day was already full. Then you added building a business into that already full schedule. So of course you will feel even more busy and unorganized. The first thing to understand is this is normal to feel this scattered feeling. An odd thing that Ive experienced is that I normally will eventually raise my productivity level to meet my obligations no matter what. The reason I emphasize eventually is because in the beginning there is a lot of activity that isnt focused therefore there are a lot of unnecessary actions that are wasted. And perhaps there are necessary actions that could become more focused. A new person has to learn what actions are the most important actions to accomplish before they can ever become efficient. So hopefully the game plan I will give you below will help you see which actions are most important.
Game Plan
1. Goal The worst confusions and wasted actions come from not being fully decisive about what you want to accomplish and why you want it. Make sure youve written it out exactly. Picture a water faucet that is dripping that symbolizes indecision. Its not really on and not really off. Its trying to do both. You cant be all on until youve made that decision. 2. Self Training No one comes into this industry fully knowing how to do each part of it. There are things they must learn. So spend some time daily learning the right way to build your business. You need to train yourself on your company, your products/services, the M.L.M industry and how to communicate effectively with people.
3. Promotion No one knows about your business until you tell them. You must promote and make it known. How? Well, any way that communication can be delivered! Newspaper ads, purchased leads, calling people you know, etc. 4. Dial the phone 5. Connect with a prospect 6. Set an appointment 7. Do a presentation 8. Get a customer 9. Get a distributor 10. Train a distributor What do you train a distributor to do? Start at #1. These are the necessary actions for you to do and to learn to do very well. Anything not on the above list is probably not going to contribute to growing your business, therefore would be wasted action. If I were to isolate out the MOST important actions I would pick: 1) Learn to invite your prospect very well. You will waste enormous time and expense until you do. Learn it here: http://www.firstclassmlmtools.com 2) Dial the phone 30 times a day (if youre part time). By listening to the live calls I did in Professional Inviter you will hear how the call is supposed to go. But hearing me do it is very different than hearing yourself do it! So spend a week or less listening to the CDs and then you start dialing the phone and talking with prospects. After a week of dialing, go back and listen to Professional Inviter again and youll hear things you didnt hear the first time. Keep doing those two things until you are CERTAIN in your ability to talk to prospects. By then, youll be training your new distributors and thats what network marketing is all about. This entire game plan is laid out in a daily to-do list called Pocket Tracker.
Take a piece of paper and write the hours that you are awake in a column down the left side of the page. It would look something like this: 7:00am 8:00am 9:00am Etc. Once completed, go back and create a daily routine. 7am rise, exercise 8am breakfast, get kids ready for school 9am leave for work, listen to training tapes 12pm make 5-10 prospecting calls 4pm Greet kids home, discuss their day 5pm make 5-10 prospecting calls 6pm dinner 7pm 5-10 prospecting calls 8pm help kids with homework and getting to bed 9pm do training calls with downline 10pm bed Kids work great on a routine if you keep your commitment with them. If you say, Ill be in to help you with your homework at 8, be there at 8. Now, make sure you schedule in weekend activities with the family (going to the beach, camping, board games, etc.). This way you dont get the feeling that youre never spending quality time with your family. Its also why your family will let you work the business during the week. Keep in the forefront of your mind that youre investing your time so that you can have a lifetime of income. I hope this helps you Stacy,
