Dear Jessica D. Mims: I am pleased to inform you of your acceptance to the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD University) for the semester that begins Fall 2013. This acceptance entitles you to Advanced Standing and a preliminary assessment of your transfer credit is now available online via WebAdvisor. Please review your transfer credit evaluation carefully and contact us with any questions. Please note that the online transfer credit evaluation may not include transfer credit for classes which are currently in progress. Official and up-to-date transcripts must be received from all post-secondary institutions at which you have studied before a final evaluation of your transfer credits will be made. Please ensure that these transcripts are received by our office directly from the sending institution prior to beginning studies at the university. The program to which you have been accepted is a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Design degree that is comprised of 120 credits. You may register for a maximum of 15 credits per semester and two semesters constitutes the typical academic year. Completion of a degree requires a minimum of eight semesters (four years) of full-time study. As you have received advanced standing, you have been granted a portion of the required 120 credits as transfer credit from your previous studies therefore reducing the total number of credits remaining for you to complete the program. If you wish to accept this offer of admission, you must forward a non-refundable deposit of $200.00 and return the attached commitment statement to the Office of Admissions as soon as possible, but no later than May 15. The deposit will be credited to your tuition for your first semester of enrolment. It is in your best interest to commit as soon as possible in order to start the registration process and secure space in your required classes in a timely manner. The tuition for NSCAD for 2013-2014 has not yet been set, but is currently set at $5,832.00 per academic year for fulltime Canadian students and $12,864.00 for full-time international students. We do anticipate a moderate increase. At current tuition rates, the tuition for a four-year degree at NSCAD is estimated to be at least $23,328.00 for Canadian students and $51,456.00 for international students. There are additional mandatory fees that you will be responsible for. Please consult our website for full details. Registration is ongoing via our online WebAdvisor system. Once you have returned the Commitment Statement and your commitment fee, you will be permitted to register for courses. Review your transfer credits carefully to determine your course selections for the upcoming academic year. If you have questions about transfer credits/registration, please contact the Office of Admissions at (902) 494-8259 or 1-888-444-5989. On behalf of Acting President, Dr, Daniel OBrien, and faculty of the school, congratulations on your acceptance to NSCAD University. The Fall 2014 semester begins September 5, 2013 and ends December 11, 2013. The Winter 2014 semester begins January 6, 2014 and ends April 17, 2014. Sincerely,

Terrence Bailey Director of Admissions and Enrolment Services
