SECTION 1.0-GENERAL 1.1 THE SPECIFICATION IN RELATION TO OTHER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS a. The Specifications, Drawings and Program of Works should complement one another. In case of conflicting provisions or omissions, the Specifications take precedence over the Drawing and Program of Work. b. For the purpose of determining quantities, dimensions should never be scaled from the drawings. 1.2 SIGNBOARD a. Within two (2) weeks from commencement of project implementation, the Contractor shall provide signboard at the project site. b. The size of the signboard shall not exceed twelve (12) feet by sixteen (16) feet or its equivalent and installed at a place reasonably near the site and visible to the public and shall bear the information mandated in House Bill No. 3943. 1.3 LOGBOOK a. Logbook should be visible in the project area. 1.4 MOBILIZATION & DEMOBILIZATION a. Mobilization shall include transportation to the site of Contractors plant materials, equipment, employees and temporary facilities defined in this section. b. Demobilization shall include dismantlement and removal from the site of the contractors plant, materials and equipment and all Temporary facilities. Demobilization shall also include clean up the site after the completion of the Contract Work as approved by the Engineers and transportation from the site of Contractors employees. 1.5 TEMPORARY FACILITIES Temporary Facilities shall include but not limited to the following items: a. Site/Field Office- The details of Site Office are shown in the drawings and shall be for the use of Engineers for the duration of the Construction. b. Workshop, warehouse, stockpile areas and storage areas for materials, equipment, spares, fuel and oil. c. Community facilities including potable water supply, electrical power requirements, drainage, sewerage disposal, sanitation, first aid, refuse collection, temporary fences and barricades and fire protection facilities. 1.6 SAFETY ASSURANCE The Contractor shall maintain adequate safety measures that shall prevent damage, injury or loss of life and property. Safety regulations of the National Building Code (P.D. 1096) shall at all time be observed.

SECTION 2.0- EARTHWORKS 2.1 CLEARING AND GRUBBING Refer to Item 100, Part C of Volume II (DPWH Standard Specifications for Public Works Structure, 1995 Edition) 2.2 REMOVAL OF STRUCTURES AND OBSTRUCTIONS Refer to Item 101, Part C of Volume II (DPWH Standard Specifications for Public Works Structure, 1995 Edition) 2.3 EXCAVATION Refer to Item 102 & Item 103, Part C of Volume II (DPWH Standard Specifications for Public Works Structure, 1995 Edition) 2.3 EMBANKMENT Refer to Item 104, Part C of Volume II (DPWH Standard Specifications for Public Works Structure, 1995 Edition) SECTION 3.0- FORMS AND FALSEWORKS 3.1 3.2 Formwork shall be substantially and sufficiently tight to prevent leakage of concrete and shall be properly braced or tied together to maintain position or shape. Forms shall be removed in such a manner as not to impair the safety and serviceability of the structure. All concrete to be exposed with the removal of the forms shall have sufficient strength not to damage thereby. Where construction joints has to be made, the surface of concrete shall be thoroughly cleaned and all laitance and standing water be removed. Forms shall only be removed at the following schedule: Structure Beam side forms Column side forms Beam shorings Suspended slab bottom forms Age of Concrete (Minimum Required) 2 days 2 days 7 days 7 days

SECTION 4.0-REINFORCEMENTS 4.1 All steel reinforcing bars shall be deformed conforming to ASTM A615-68. 4.2 Minimum yield strength of reinforcing bars shall be as follows: Fy= 40 ksi (275 Mpa) For concrete structural frames of the buildings. Fy= 33 ksi (225 Mpa) For slabs on fill, manholes and sanitary structures. 5.1 In any case, no concrete pouring shall commence without the Engineers approval.

5.2 All equipment for mixing and transporting concrete shall be clean. All debris shall be removed from spaces to be occupied by concrete and forms.
