Overview: France: -lots of Uranium, faster access to 1 nuclear plant -Paris is a triple city Benelux: -extra ecological PP sometimes -less coal, more oil -faster game due to low connection costs + remove lowest PP each round China: -PP in (mainly) # order during Steps 1, 2 -resources in short supply as game proceeds Brazil: -slight emphasis on biogas (garbage PP cards) -scarce resources Russia: -PP restricted in Russia st -1 player causes lowest PP to be replaced if passing on starting an auction Qubec: -more emphasis on ecological PP -Montreal, Qubec have several cheap connections Northern Europe: -different energy sources (some hydro) -Denmark, Norway are nuclear-free

Power Grid Cheat Sheet by Gary LaPeare 0. Preparation PP 03 06 in current market, 07 10 in future market, 13 on top of PP deck. 4 PLAYERS: remove 4 random PP from deck (not 13). New PP Deck Variant 1: New Deck only. Remove 52, 54, 57, 60. 01 04, 05 08, with 11 on top of deck. New PP Deck Variant 3: Old Deck plus new 46, 50, 52, 54, 57, 60. (46+, 50+ higher than originals; use 8 cities /player 4 PLAYERS: remove 5 random PP Brazil: (garbage = biogas) Put 14 under 13. 4 PLAYERS: remove biogas, remove 4 random, then shuffle biogas back in. China: 4 PLAYERS: remove 03, 04, 11, 18, 24, 33, 46 5 PLAYERS: remove 3, 4, 33 shuffle 36-50 (bottom), shuffle 31-35 w/ Step 3 card (middle), 05-30 in order (top) Set up current market (no future market): 1 PP /player. France: Remove 13 completely; put 11 on top instead of 13. [11 if playing with New PP Deck] Regions: blue recommended. Northern Europe: Replace PP with same # PP matching countries chosen. Qubec: set aside PP 13, 18, 22 (dont remove if 4 players!), then place on top of in # order (13 on top) Regions: pink and at least one of red /yellow recommended. Russia: Remove PP 06, 14 from game. Only 3 in current market, 3 in future market. Shuffle 10, 11 with top 3 cards, then place 13 on top of these. Spain & Portugal: Set 18, 22, 27 aside face up. rd United Kingdom & Ireland: Chosen regions on UK island must connect. Place Step 3 card 3 from the bottom of the deck. 1. Determine Player Order (most cities, highest # PP breaks tie) First round: do this after Phase 2. Baden-Wuerttemberg: Always do Phase 2 first, then 1,3,4,5.

2. Auction (Player Order) -replace PP immediately *If no PP sold this round: remove lowest # PP and replace Baden-Wuerttemberg: Remove /replace 2lowest PP if no PP sold. Benelux: When the smallest PP in the future market is ecological, add to current market. (5 PP rather than 4.) Central Europe, Northern Europe, Spain & Portugal UK & Ireland: If only houses in non-nuclear countries, cannot offer, bid on, or buy nuclear PPs. China: Steps 1,2: DO NOT REPLACE bought PPs. If no PP sold this round DO NOT remove lowest # PP. st Russia: if 1 player doesnt offer a PP for auction, remove lowest # PP & replace. If no PP sold this round DO NOT remove lowest # PP. If Step 3 card is drawn: place as highest # PP, dont draw any new PP, at end of round discard along with lowest # PP. Shuffle remainder of PP de ck. 3. Buy Resources (REVERSE Player Order) (PP can store 2x resources shown.) Central Europe: Players with Wien buy garbage at -1 Elektro. Minimum cost will be 1 Elektro (not free). Korea: Buy from only 1 of the markets this round (regardless of where your cities are.) 4. Build (REVERSE Player Order) move housing marker immediately If PP in market # of cities discard PP, replace Baden-Wuerttemberg, China, Russia: Dont do this. Japan: May build 2 networks, both starting in (different) starting (double 10) citydont have to start both in first turn. Step 1: Two players allowed in starting (double 10) city. First turn: Build 0, 1 (1 network) or 2 (2 networks) houses only. nd United Kingdom & Ireland: Starting 2 network on the other island costs an extra 20 Elektro. th *The first time at least one player builds a 7 city, move to Step 2 mode at END of Phase 4: Remove lowest # PP, add new one th th New PP Deck Variant 3: Step 2 begins when at least one player builds an 8 city. Bureaucracy (Player Order) Benelux: Steps 1, 2: Remove SMALLEST PP (as well as highest), replace it. (Do NOT place it on the bottom of PP deck.) China: Steps 1,2: Add at least 2 power plants; bring market up to ONE LESS THAN THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS (if +2 makes too many PP, remove lowest # PPs) Korea: Restock North market first, then South. Steps 1 & 2: Remove highest # PP from market, put on bottom of PP deck China: Do NOT remove highest # PP.
