Carrier Supporting Carrier (CsC) has many benefits: Multiple customer carriers can be connected to a single CsC backbone Both VPN and Internet Services can be provided Customer carriers don't have to operate their own long distance network Different addressing schemes can be used by different carriers Any link type supported by MPLS can be used

Carrier supporting Carrier (CsC) is a term used to describe a situation where one service provider allows another service provider to use a segment of its backbone network.

MPLS is used between CsC backbone PE routers and customer carrier s VPN sites. Labels are exchanged between CsC backbone and customer carriers by LDP.

MPLS VPN Enabled ISP Connected Across Standard Carrier

A customer carrier which is not running MPLS internally must use MPLS on the link between the CsC backbone and the Customer Carrier s site.
